Auto Value Auto Parts

I was sent over here from PartSource as I was looking for a specific tool to rent that they didn’t have it. Auto Value didn’t either and said to try MoPac.
The customer service was friendly and efficient. Though they didn’t have what I needed I’d be willing to give this store another try based on my brief experience.

So, normally I’m a huge fan of Auto Value because they are helpful and don’t judge me since I’m not very auto savvy, but this particular location is NOT my favourite.
I was sad when the ‘check engine’ light in my car went on, but a little happier when my boyfriend told me Auto Value had a device that will tell you what is wrong with it. I guess you just plug it in to your car somewhere and it gives you a code which tells you the reason the light is on.
Well, I stopped by this Auto Value on my way to work the other to ask if they could help me out. Not only was I ignored at first, but I would swear that I was almost invisible to them. When I finally was welcomed to the counter I told them what I was there for. I was told that I would have to wait while the guy answered a couple of phone calls. He took someone off hold and started talking about something about his house. This means, he told me I would have to wait while he made a personal call. Not cool.
Then, when he finally got off the phone he asked me if I knew where the plug-​in was and seemed pissed when I didn’t. He had to look it up. After finally finding the spot, he came out to my car with me and tried to plug it in. He tried only two or three times to get the device plugged in and then gave up, telling me it wouldn’t work.
Not only was he not helpful, but he was flat out rude to me! I realize that I was asking for something for free, but isn’t that their job? Aren’t they supposed to help people fix and upgrade their cars? I guess not at this location.

My battery died while shopping today and thankfully I was in a mall that had an Auto Value Parts Store.
So many locals offered to help me but I didn’t have boosters; so I thought I would go to AV in case they could sell me boosters or in case they had a garage.
The store is quite large and clean and the folks here were so supportive about my situation. Instead of selling me cables they suggested to boost me themselves at no charge. They did not have a garage there so this was just a simple act of compassion. I was so astounded and so grateful for their kindness.
While waiting for the boy to help me I looked around at the items in the store, well stocked, well lit and the prices were reasonably priced.
The boy was actually on duty and he managed not only to boost my battery, he also offered to do a complimentary battery test as well. I begged and pleaded to pay for his services but his manager insisted that no money was necessary and everything was fine.
Although I was not a customer, I did not purchase any products or services here, AV’s support really saved me a lot of time, money and complications.
