Eclair de Lune

Love this place. I knew this place was here and have been wanting to try it for years. I finally went in this week, def wasn’t disappointed. I ordered the crème brûlée & 2 meringue cookies. The crème brûlée was to die for! And same goes for the meringues! You won’t be disappointed. Will be back for more.

Ive never been to the real store but i usually go to their little stall in calgary farmers martket. I love the crème brullee, its soo creamy, not too sweet. their pannacotta is to die for. i love the texture and their fruty flavours. ive got nothing but praises! Also the vendor (farmers market) is super friendly!

Excellent cheesecake. The sandwiches are prepared already and the other sweets are excellent. Phillip the owner is a classic french baker. Travel from far and wide to come here once there is nothing at the farmers market

Every time I have come here I have not been disappointed, whether it’s with their tea, sandwiches, pastries, baguettes, or anything else. Service with a smile to boot. Bravo!

Second time I try pastries /​cakes from this bakery — ABSOLUTELY MEMORABLE! The quality of ingredients shines through the flaky, airy, elegantly flavoured creations. I have enjoyed their tarts and petit four, which are the perfect afternoon indulgence. I have also gotten their cakes and I can say they are among the best I have ever had. Their hazelnut praline mouse cake is incredible. This recipe is often so rich and overwhelming in other bakeries, but not here! The praline is crunchy and perfectly hazelnutty, the mousse is not too sweet and perfectly airy, the chocolate cover was simply elegant.
I have also tried their roaster veggie sandwich on a delicious milky-​buttery bun. Totally amazing.
The owner is friendly and the space is pleasant. I would come here daily if I lived in the city!

I am visiting family from out of town and was looking for a good lunch place. My sister recommended this to me, and I was very impressed. Awesome selection of pastries and desserts. For lunch, I had a sausage roll and a quiche, and both were very well done. The pricing was very reasonable as well. C$ 23 for three lunch items and three desserts of high quality.
The service was friendly and attentive. I ordered each item one at a time and sat outdoors to enjoy. Then I came back in and ordered plenty of food to take back to family.

French music playing in the background, incredible customer service and amazing pastries. Overall incredible ambiance. Great little hidden gem!!!

Lovely little bakery/​café. I tried a peach macaron, apricot pastry, cinnamon roll w pecans, pear & custard danish, and another pastry with chocolate and pears on it.
Everything was very delicious. The apricot tart was a particular favorite. The macaron was nice but I was disappointed to see them sell the last 3 chocolate ones while I waited in line. However it was valentine’s day and I expected it to be busy. But come on make a 2^nd batch of the chocolate! silly!
Anyways very tasty baked goods and a decent selection even considering much of it was sold out.

So yum. Love this little hidden gem. I take my son for desserts. We both love it. The ambiance is great and the staff is lovely. I swear they are one of the only places who make a great cold green tea.

Definitely among the top pastry shops in town! Their crème brûlée is masterful with the sugar coating caramelized to order (offering this simple gesture speaks volumes to the chef’s integrity and care for his craft and customers). They make a classic éclair with a flavorful and proper vanilla custard filling (no whipped cream here!). Their croissants are flawless; light and buttery with the most delicate crust. Their tartelettes are simply amazing… so much flavor in them damn little cookies and baked perfectly! The tiramisu is exceptional, however, I’m a little greedy and would’ve liked just a tad more savoiardi. The chefs here are seriously talented. No gimmicky offerings, just the classics prepared at the highest level. My first time trying their desserts was at the Farmer’s Market on Blackfoot Trail where they run a small booth. Thankfully, they have a brick and mortar place where I can get my fix during the week! I’m still waiting to try one of their traditional fruit tarts with the vanilla custard… may have to just request it. When their café opens up next door, I’ll be able to enjoy a proper cup of joe with my desserts!
UPDATE…I normally just review the food but the customer service here deserves praise… I’ve been here 3x in the last week hoping to find their fruit tarts for sale but to no avail… so I called in for a request and they were able to make them within the HOUR… now THAT’S customer service for ya!!! Unfortunately, the tarts are average at best… most people will enjoy them but I simply prefer a much richer custard. The tarts, themselves, are beautifully prepared, but the custard lacks color and taste. Surprisingly, most of the fruit tarts I’ve had around town are prepared this way, with a lightly colored custard and taste… call it sophisticated or refined, but if I had the choice I would still prefer taste over looks. I was in Paris recently and took the opportunity to hit as many pastry shops as I could and nearly all of them offer that rich yellow custard. Nevertheless, when compared to others around town, Éclair’s tarts can hang with the best of them. ;)

Lovely pastries! Try a cinnamon bun which is so light and flaky as opposed to normal heavy dough types. This place clearly knows its pastries as the croissants and the cinnamon buns are out of this world — light and flaky without being greasy. I was watching the chef (baker?) as he was making some desserts and he looked totally passionate about his work. Worth the stop!

Been awhile since I visited this little bakery. It’s a mere hop, skip and a jump from where we live and my kids school. They have the most delicious pastries and treats that I want to take one of everything home!
When I stopped in it was over lunch and so I decided to buy a chicken & vegetable quiche. I further tempted my palate with a pain au chocolat (chocolate croissant) for desert (because I’ve been good, right?!). I brought them home so I could heat up the quiche and devour everything without anyone watching (tee hee).
Oh la la I was brought back to France for the duration of my meal. The quiche was light, it was fluffy, it was buttery, it was full of flavour and it was flaky. How is it even possible to find a pastry that meets every expectation? (it’s a good thing!)
And oh my word the pain au chocolate was out of this word. Flaky, buttery, delicious. YES I remember when I was here the last time… it must have been logged in the right lobe because memories of buttery, flaky pastry came flooding back to me.
Fantabulous. If you haven’t been here before Run… don’t Walk.

Sooooo gooood! this is a place you most definitely have to visit… over and over again. i bought a bunch of pastries for old friends at this patisserie /​bakery. I treated myself to one of their strawberry whip cream puffs and I was overcome by happiness and joy!!! hahahha soooo good! it’s worth the drive wherever you live in town

I can’t believe this only has 4 reviews. This is my favorite bakery in Calgary.
If you like flaky, buttery pastries, there is no other.
The cheese sticks, the ham and swiss croissant, 3 cheese croissant are among my favorite choices there. I have never met anyone who does not like the cheese sticks. I stop in every other week for a treat. It’s not really a sit in place so I usually grab my goodies to go. Also be sure to give your croissants a quick nuke to melt the cheese a bit.
I got this really fancy chocolate cake there once which was excellent and I don’t really like cake so that says a lot. They have a large selection of desserts like crème brûlée, fancy crème puffs, fruit tarts, meringes etc. I prefer the savory stuff. My wife likes the sweets.
The selection changes pretty frequently and depending on when you get there, the choices can be limited. But that’s part of the fun, stopping by to see what they have. This is by far the best bakery to go to get your «fancy» snacks or if you want a heart attack and empty wallet. :)

My lady and I popped into Éclair de Lune bakery one afternoon to pick up a sweet treat. You could smell the inviting aroma of baked goods out on the sidewalk — how can you not go in?
The first thing you see when you walk in is a display case featuring different flavors of croissants and meringue cookies in pastel colours. We both opted for a lime and dulce du leche cookie that had an authentic name which I tried to pronounce but the lady just giggled so I guess I botched it pretty good. After picking up a coffee, we dug in. The cookie was crunchy and had a nice citrusy overtone, so it wasn’t too sweet, which I appreciate.
I would definitely go back here on another occasion to pick up some of their speciality bread, which is likely where that heavenly smell was coming from!

Who doesn’t love a bakery? Honestly. They smell delicious, they have appealing treats, and it saves (trying) baking at home. Éclair de Lune is no exception to that. It’s a great little bakery located at the corner of Northmount Drive and 40 Avenue.
I first wandered by in search of something to munch on for breakfast, but ended up buying more than necessary. They had these appetizing looking croissants on the counter — I bought three — as well as milk bread. What is milk bread, you might ask? Well, that’s what I thought so I did ask. The nice French baker helping me explained it to me, and it sounded so good I even bought a roll.
The guy behind the counter really was passionate about baking. You could tell when he was explaining what each pastry was. He was able to fully explain, to my understanding, what each thing was, and made everything sound so delicious! I enjoyed spending a few minutes learning about all the things he had.
They had available an assortment of different breads and baked goods. There were full apple tarts for sale, as well as pre-​made ready-​to-​bake crème brule. The most appetizing looking item had to be the chocolate eclairs he had. I do love a good éclair, and these looked so tempting I had to buy some… so I got two.
It would seem as though only half the store is functioning, since there was an empty display case on the other side of the store. As well, I’d recommend bringing cash since their debit machine is extremely slow. We actually had to ring through my purchase twice because the first debit transaction didn’t go through since someone was calling the store at the same time.
I’m glad I bought more than I needed from Éclair de Lune because now I’ve got extra yummy pastries at home. It was a great bakery experience and if I’m in the neighbourhood anytime soon, I’ll definitely be heading back.
