On a trip back home we stopped at this Calgary location and the experience wasn’t a very positive one to say the least. Customer parking is in the front of the store and not in the back as it is only for staff members and they will ticket you. Also noticed some sort of vagabond taking up precious patio real estate loitering around at a table, possible confrontation may come ahead. The barista serving me seemed to have some sort of conflict with another staff member and that seemed to rub off on the other staff members there as well so it was very uncomfortable when I was served. The Americano was great but the other staff member was muttering something under his breath about his co worker. Getting back to the car with my drink and sitting with my toddlers the loitering person asked me twice for spare change not comprehending after the second time«go away» the third time was a friendly *@#$ off“ So if you’re in Calgary don’t go to this location due to the angry staff and panhandlers.

Lovelovelove this location! It’s always busy, but service is fast and their drinks come out perfect every time. Store is clean and well kept. No grumpy baristas here either :3

It’s an average Starbucks. It always seems to have plenty of people there, although I haven’t experienced chronically long lines like Missy mentioned(although I believe it, if you go during SAIT hours). It can be annoying to get to if you’re heading east on 16th Ave. My drinks have always been made to my expectations, from what I can remember.

Only go here in you have minimum 30 minutes to kill, as that is how long it takes to get a coffee. Being the location it is, is why, it’s across from SAIT, on 16th ave and surrounded by businesses. I have never had my coffee order messed up which is nice, but I don’t always have plenty of time to spare. Not much to say, Starbucks is Starbucks is Starbucks. It’s expensive coffee and mass produced baked good.

I think Starbucks for me is more of a habit that began 20 years ago when I lived in Vancouver. I do not find their coffee outstanding… in fact always inconsistent flavours(which could be to do with the roasting?). I am mostly an expresso coffee drinker… I enjoy a dry cappuccino but even then no 2 barista’s make it the same. I order a dry cappuccino and end up with a latte instead. ¾ times I send it back because there is too much milk. 1⁄9 barista’s tell me they know how to make a dry cappuccino and much to my delight — they do it right. And so I can not help but wonder why there is so much inconsistency between barista’s? Do they not receive the same training?! Points to Ponder. In the end I continue to frequent starbucks… out of habit and because I need quiet time away once in awhile… so much so I am a gold card member(lol). Now that summer is upon us I will step out of my cappuccino comfort zone to enjoy their iced lattes and green ice tea lemonade’s. On the plus side some of their treats(cranberry bliss bars) are super yummy!

I love bringing my laptop and sitting down at Starbucks to get some work done. What I really like about this location is that it’s in between my work and home, there is always parking and there is always at least one table. The free wifi is a must(of course) and they’re open late enough that you can get enough done in an evening after work. The staff are always friendly and I like the setup of the store — since the counter is at the back, there are 3 walls of windows so there is always lots of light.

The coffee and pastries are nothing revolutionary. Service is decent, the Batista’s know their regulars by name but you kind of expect that. And I find the parking lot is always full from overflow from the next door Earls(not sure why they are so busy all the time, I guess location is a powerful aspect of success). However, this is a place I go when size matters, because sometimes it does(even when they say it doesn’t). During weeknights it isn’t too busy and being a larger place it’s perfect if you need to have a group meeting somewhere. I’ve had comfortable meetings of 6(with baggage) where all could talk in their normal voices and be heard. It’s also centrally convenient for Northern Calgarians seeing that 16th Ave is a northern main vein and is easy to drive on at night. It doesn’t have public wireless which is a large drawback. I have rated it a two not because it’s a bad place, but I have experienced much better. However, it’s a positive two because there are some really convenient things about it.

When I taught at SAIT I used to disappear here to mark papers and exams. The coffee was drinkable, nothing more. Starbucks has a facination with dark roasts. You cannot taste anything unique about a Sumatran, Colombian, or any other coffee when dark roasted, all you taste is the roast. I give it two because of the good service. The coffee a 1.5.

Love stopping here for coffee. Their coffe is fresh and their morning goodies like their pomegranate cranberry muffins are so good. Did you know that if you got a Starbucks gift card and get it registered online you can get: a free beverage on your birthday? free refills of coffee 2 hours free Check the website for more details on the benefits.
