Sooo goood!!! A little packed, it was hard to browse and order. hope they get a bigger space!

4 $ for a cookie? Welcome to ripoff city. Ill try to keep the review based on this bakery and not the general ripoff atmosphere of the Calgary Farmers market, which has caused the good bakeries to LEAVE the calgary farmers market.
The bakery is small, with typical $$$ bread and loaves. Nothing makes this place stand out. The local bakery next to your house has all that these people do.

So far, the offerings at Yum Bakery vary from okay to quite good. The challah buns are very nice. I had a savoury mushroom and arugula pastry that was delicious! Some other things (lemon loaf and other treats) were mediocre and not worth repeating. For thanksgiving they had a large selection of pies; apple, bumbleberry, pumpkin, sweet potato, pecan, sour cherry and a few other kinds. They vary in price from 15.00 — 18.00, so a bit pricey, but I just had a piece of the bumbleberry pie and it is awesome!!! My big peeve with pies is when the sweetness over shadows the flavour. The tart all berry filling is generous — barely sweet and full of flavour — the way a pie should be. The crust is yummy too. Thankyou to Yum Bakery for the best bumbleberry pie I have had in a very long time! :-)

Ive only tried the Macarons. So Im just basing it there. Im gonna be comparing a lot of it to Yann Haute Patisserie too, sooo. Anyways, the pistachio one is okay. It lacks flavour and it just tasted eh. It wasnt very sweet and its not as good as the ones at Yann. The Raspbery Hibiscus is pretty good. Its tangy and sweet, filled with flavour and its really a treat, I guess you could compare it to the passion fruit one at Yann? Tangy and just a tiny bit sour. THE SALTED CARAMEL ONE DISAPPOINTED ME. So its very beautiful, caramel, golden colour and sweet, slightly buttery smell, but the taste is UGH. The filling is horridly sweet and the macaron cookie is hecka salty. You would think it would balance out, but NO. First the sweetness hits you and then the salt attacks after. Polar opposites that dont mix. Bleh. Overall the macarons arent very good. I mean, their better than somewhere like a grocery store, but the macaron wasnt very full and chewy. Its just a crunch with lots of air. The only plus is the size, but c’mon Yann Haute has slightly smaller, better quality ones for $ 0.10 less… I would also like to point out the packaging is just a take out clear container… whereas Yann has a cute box fit for the Macarons…

Yum bakery, where do I start?
Its in the Calgary, s farmers market by Blackfoot trail and heritage drive.
Their desserts are really amazing. They have these cup sized dessert, chocolate mousse… so delicious. I think its $ 4 ea if you have disposable income its OK to indulge every now and then.
We also tried their pies, and my husband leo loves it.
Cake… we tried carrot cake pretty good too.
I gave it 4 stars because, 1 time I saw flies hovering over the danish pastries… eeekk, though little pricey, little indulgence in life is not a bad thing. After all this is why we work hard, to enjoy the finer things in life!

As me & my fiancé make frequent road trips to Calgary, we would always stop by the Calgary Farmers market on 77^th. We enjoy the different selection of baked goods & bbq there, we usually stop by the yum bakery.
Let’s just put it this way, the macaroons are mediocre good the tarts are what we usually go for but the customer service is horrid.
This time we were standing clear view in front of the refrigerated fridge lining up behind another fellow as he had his order taken & to pay.
As we were next in line you would THINK the girl there would ask what we would like, instead walked away like we weren’t there and asked a woman that just walked in and asked if she wanted help she shook her head than walked towards her coworkers to chat & stared at us.
Bakery isn’t anything special & I’m sure there’s other places to go.

One of the great vendors situated along the north wall of the CFM, Yum bakery offers outstanding breads and buns, lovely sweets, but just average scones.
Standout loaves include the mild green onion and wild rice loaf, the funky walnut blue cheese, and the rustic baguette. Steal-​of-​a-​deal has to be the day-​olds (likely still fresher than what you’re buying at the supermarket). Pick up a massive $ 2 brioche or aforementioned walnut/​blue cheese loaf and make some of the best pain-​perdu or french toast you’ve ever laid your taste buds on,
Yum also has very nice challah buns. These have become our go-​to burger buns, though I’ve found quite dark, almost-​burnt, bottoms on these and the small sub/​panini buns before. Taste on these brown bottoms is actually quite nice, but can be visually a little disconcerting if you have fussy eaters (or are a little neurotic yourself…)
Tarts and pies have been great. Chocolate and salted caramel tarts are lovely, coconut tart or larger pie is out-​of-​this world and priced well (I think around $ 15 for a 10″ cream pie).
Only things that have been a little underwhelming have been the chocolate sourdough buns (not chocolate enough to be sweets, or sourdough enough to be savory… I’m just not sure what to do with them), and pleasant, but not outstanding scones.
Still, I’d gladly eat most anything available there, and will go out of my way for the challah and wild-​rice loafs.

The macarons from yum bakery are just horrible! The worst macarons I have ever had in my life!

This review is also based solely on the macarons… perhaps they read reviews and made adjustments because the ones I had were delightful. I chose six different kinds but the standouts were sour cherry, lime and coffee. Smaller than the average macaron the price also reflects this as they are $ 1.50 each. They were all crisp and chewy but not crumbly and the filling were smooth and tasty. Between the two macaron stalls in the Calgary Farmer’s Market (I’ve tried both) I would choose this one. One small critique… the staff manning the booth should be more knowledgeable about French baking.

Alright, this review is solely on the macarons at Yum Bakery. They have many baked goods, bread, cakes, macarons, pies… etc. that look quite delicious. They have a nice display with cakes, bars and macarons that first caught my eye. I decided to get a 6 macarons to try because I’ve been craving them since I tried M for Macaron so I went with: Raspberry, Vanilla Cappucino, Pistacio, 2 salted caramel and peppermint chocolate. They also have other flavours like orange, oreo, coffee… The display probably changes but thats just what they offered the day I visited.
I didn’t eat the macarons immediately because I know they’re best served when taken out of the fridge and sitting at room temperature for about 10 – 15 minutes.
After the market, on our drive back I decided to give one a try. I tried the salted caramel one. At first bite it was crumbly and hard. It seemed overbaked. I thought that was a fluke so later in the day I tried the pistacio one but same texture! Hard, chewy and crumbly. The filling just tasted like butter in all of them, no WOW factor for me. So pretty much after trying M for Macaron at the Kingsland Farmers Market, I thought Yum Bakery would measure up but it didn’t at all. Macarons should taste like the flavor listed, have an airy fluffy tastful bite.
BUT! like I said, this review is solely on macarons… I haven’t tried the other goods but seeing the line they had, other things besides the macarons are probably much better!

I needed to bring something for a work potluck so I decided to make a quick trip to the nearby Farmer’s market.
There was already a lot of food being brought, so I decided a post-​feast treat would hit the spot, so when I saw Yum Bakery, I picked up a set of chocolate covered strawberries and a few macaroons to go along with it. I also decided to treat myself by picking up lemon possett. In honesty, I’m a little irked about the price, but in fairness, it’s the farmer’s market, not the superstore bulk bin section.
The possett was awesome. I could never get the creamy consistency right in my own attempt to create it, but this had a perfect balance of sweet, tangy, and creamy.
How was the strawberries and maccaroons? Well I WOULDN’T KNOW because I zonked out and forgot to set some aside for me to try and they were all gone the next day @ the potluck. Savages… the world is filled with savages
