Had the super cheap $ 25 package (~$ 28 after tax) and it was perfect for someone who lives alone. Sometimes the internet gets a little slow, but generally streaming 1080p video isn’t a problem, and I don’t need more than that: P Had to cancel because I’m going somewhere else to do a grad program and the landlord will have internet, overall I had a great experience cancelling as well and they even gave me tips on how to sell my modem now that I’ll have no use for it anymore. My plan was going to be up on the 21^st and they extended it to the 24^th for me to move out on the 25^th, which is absolutely great considering I had the cheapest plan possible.

The one time there was an issue, they bent over backwards to get the problem done.
Support the little guy, and watch them get bigger and better. If you’re tired of getting ripped off by the big boys, give Teksavvy a try then.

Recently moved home to Canada from the US. I have a DOCSIS 3.0 compatible modem. Teksavvy requires you purchase a $ 200 modem in order to access their service. Given that all new cable modems follow the same communication protocol standard, I can’t help but feel that they are trying to rip off potential new customers.
Sorry, but if this is how you treat me _​before_​I sign up for your service… No thank you. The Toronto ISP market is competitive enough without your gouging me for a box I don’t need.

I cannot say enough great things about Teksavvy. My internet speed may be a little slow sometimes, but that is more than made up for the 400 GB per month of data and the exceptional customer service that goes above and beyond.

Set up with them was easy. I own my modem outright. I pay about $ 56/​month for my dry loop and High Speed DSL 25 that gives 400GB. We barely go over 250GB. The technician who came to install was polite, quick, and helpful in trouble shooting.
It only took about 2 days for our service to come online, but that’s due to my own pride. I’m «Teksavvy’ enough to deal with most LAN issues, but was slightly annoyed that my usual tactics weren’t working. I finally called in on day 2. The agent who offered tech support fixed it all within 10 minutes; got me connected smoothly. He was very polite and helpful.
I was with Bell previously. They were basically charging me nearly double my Teksavvy rate for slower service and less GB. The switch paid for itself (even with the modem fee) in only 6 months and I save almost $ 400/​year now on internet.
I love the direct billing and the email receipt I get. 1 less star because they don’t take Amex.

Cheap but customer service is pretty terrible. If you move be prepared to go a week or two without any internet — they can’t book things themselves and when they try they never follow through

I have had cable service from them, but I had to cancel. Reason. Customer service. For two months they have been double charging me. When I called them and told them I was moving to a new address they opened up a new account and then continued to charge me for my old account. When I asked them for a refund for their mistake, I was told they don’t offer refunds and that I should have canceled the old account. Which was not the understanding I had originally.
Be warned they have great customer service when they want to be. But they became cold and silent when it came to their mistake and money needed to be refunded.
Disappointing in a service provider that claims they care.

Born in Toronto. Left just after HS grad. Lived in the PNW, USA (pretty high-​tech). Comcast monopoly. In fact, I was the first «broadband» customer at 98 047 in 1998 (ATT@ Home). Moved back to L4Z XXX in 2013. Still adjusting to USA vs CAD on everything, like $ 6 gallon of gas in Canada, but it’s cool… All that, Teksavvy is *f* AWESOME for what you get, even compared to the USA ISP counterparts. The USA (yea, you Comcast and Time Warner Cable). Love that TK has true unlimited from 2AM to 8AM, just set your torrent scheduler, simple. Sweet. NEVER been down. No USA BS DMCA BS either, TekS is the WAY TO GO. But, use a VPN ($ 6/​mos PIA), as the USA ambulance-​chasers, are looking at us now. Never will get to court, but just steer clear anyhow, we don’t need the hassle. Proud North!

I just switched my internet service from Rogers to Teksavvy and I couldn’t be happier! Set up was super easy (the majority of it was done online), and their support team was in contact with me shorty after to follow up with setup and any questions or concerns.
Initial setup cost was a little pricey since you have to pay for your first month, plus I needed a modem and I had to buy a wireless router, but my long term savings will be great!
So happy! Suck it Rogers!

#teksavvy the worse company in Canada — shit services and lazy employees waiting 10 days of a Internet connection now and they will force you to wait and won’t refund your money wtf so pissed off now I miss rogers

i fucking love teksavvy!
i’ve been a customer for almost 10 years now and haven’t ran into any problem with them. at that time, i was fed up with bell and its crappy limit, bad customer service and expensive price so i was looking at a better alternative. after going through forums, boards and whatnot, found teksavvy and read good experiences with them. those good experiences are what made me do the jump. a leap of faith. ever since that decision, i haven’t considered dropping them for something else.
they did change price through the years (that’s normal), they got bigger too but one thing remains and that’s the very good customer service. yes, i have heard of not so great customer service but then, i go through the french side of things so i can’t attest to that.
another good thing is you get to choose your own modem. of course, they’ll suggest certain ones that they sell or are most compatible but you don’t have to.
as for cap limit, 300gb is plentiful for me. of course, i miss the unlimited at same price as i’m paying right now. they do have unlimited during night time though which lets you download as much as you want during that time period.
i’m definitely a happy customer and hope for another 10 years of good service!

only 3 stars because they seem to kack out alot and they use Bell modems which are crap — you have two choices, buy crap, or rent crap, either way tek savvy’s suffers because they relied on bell/​sagecome modems, which are crappy for wifi and onoing connectivity. we paid for a 10mbps upload speed but were then told the system couldn’t handle it so they reduced the speed. so much for 10mbps. overall — they’re just ok, definitely better than the thieves from B@#$ and R@#$%s.

Been with them for 7 years now and counting. Im on their DSL Service and Home Phone… Customer Service is okay now that they have so many customers on board. There is lots of competition out there, but i truly like Teksavvy fast service and great plans. I dont see myself changing to another competitor yet but they are some enticing deals out there! Definetly bring your own modem if your going DSL i purchased mine its the TP-​LINK TD-​8816 cheap modem i got it for $ 20 can be had for less at NCIX sale days !! I choose DSL over Cable because read lots of horror stories of Rogers messing up peoples connection whereas DSL not so much and not so much customers like DSL anyways!

For a discount ISP, they have customer service as good as Bell or Rogers. at any time of the day, you can call them and get live technical support. Internet does drop every now and then, which isn’t that different then when I had Rogers. Great value for the price.

Switched to TekSavvy this month, can’t say enough good things about their Tech Support team. They found a problem with my modem, totally not their fault.
They stuck with the problem and sorted everything out for me. I felt like a Customer not just an another account.
The team looking after me was personable, knowledge and focused on solving the main problem not just passing the buck.
On top of this the service is great, my wife and I deal with a lot of large files for work and my two boys watch too much Netflix and YouTube. No service problems at all.

I was a happy Teksavvy customer until I got screwed, BIG time. I’ll start this review off with a warning… DO NOT SIGN UP WITH TEKSAVVY !
I’ve lost out on 3 days of work going on 4 because of techs not showing up to the house and CSRs not telling me what’s REALLY going on.
Not once was I told of vendor issues upon signing up — meaning they can’t even secure the service they’re selling.
Not once was I told that confirmed dates AREN’T REALLY confirmed dates — meaning when they confirm a date it’s okay for them not to show up cause they outsource the technical installs to another company that makes you the last priority.
Not once was I told that due to high volume I’d have to wait 2 weeks between rescheduling or 2 hours on the phone to speak to someone who responds with «I don’t know what happen».
There is no excuse for their horrible customer service… let alone… no excuse for blatantly lying to people to get a service… nor told when I’ll be able to get said service. A service I’ve never used, yet I paid for !
When you sign up you’re stuck into a written contract with them where you can’t get out of until they fix the problem… well they aren’t fixing the problem, they refuse to make fixing the problem a priority and they can get away with it.
They are only causing me time, money, and stress.
This company doesn’t deserve my business and they won’t give me my money back.
I’ll definitely be in touch with the Better Business Bureau, what’s happening to me and other people isn’t right.

I made a huge mistake switching to Teksavvy. I had heard great things about the company, yet from the get-​go I have had issues with this company.
1) They kept messing up my order and they were one month late in setting up my internet. I gave them my full address and I kept getting e-​mails stating, «your order cannot be processed. Please contact us immediately.» It turns out that they did not make a note of my apartment number the 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd or 4^th time. In total, I gave them my apartment number 4 TIMES! How difficult is it to make a note of an apartment number, specially when I gave this information to 4 reps! Ridiculous!
2) Internet stopped working on day 5!
3) I am on hold. I have been wanting to have my internet fixed for a week now. I have been on hold for 47 minutes! I tried their chat option, but there are no reps available there either.
Huge mistake switching to this company! I wish I hadn’t.
**Update: It has been almost 2 weeks and still no internet, or callback or any type of follow-​up. I get that it is a busy time for Teksavvy but how is it acceptable that I have waited on hold for over 4 hours in 3 days, and even writing on their blog about my concerns has not elicited a response?
What have I tried so far:
Requested a callback twice, sent 2 e-​mails, called and waited on hold for over 45 minutes each time (over 4 hours so far), wrote on Teksavvy blog about my lack of service. Response? Nothing.

Third and final review/​update, as promised.
#Rogers and #Bell have their work cut out. I’d say #Teksavvy gets a 3.5 to 4 star rating. Strong and no contest given lousy tel-​comm competitors.
Installation day was delayed by a few days, but when it did happen it was painless. Five minutes with a Rogers techy and then five minutes of my own time connecting the router.
The real star of the show is of course the WONDERFUL INTERNET CONNECTION. Proper speeds and no connectivity issues (dropping, fading, etc).
For this reason I round that 3.5 back up to a 4.

I’m at home and on the internet, which is working at lightening speeds, so Teksavvy is clearly doing everything it’s supposed to do.
If your contract is up at Rogers or Bell run, don’t walk, to your phone. Pick said phone up and call Teksavvy and say hello to flat rates for unlimited megablahblahs and no contract.
Damn. I love the internet.
PEPPER POINTS for their customer service. I screwed up my bill once (I’m super good with money, guys) and they were really kind about it.

For those moving around this time of the year and thinking about setting up your internet. I just wanted to say that I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND TEKSAVVY. I’ve had a horrible experience with them and was left 2 weeks without internet (soon to be 3 weeks) during the time I needed it the most (time leading up to a very important meeting).
I got fed up with waiting last night and switched to rogers and needless to say I am back online within 24 hours and am paying only marginally more ($ 5) and have a much faster and more reliable internet connection. Beyond that Rogers also provided me with free modem rental with built in wifi router (for teksavy you need to a buy the router from them and provide your own router). They also waived the installation fee for me.
Prior to this, I had teksavy for about 2 years now. Over this time my internet connection was quite inconsistent with frequent slow-​downs during peak hours. There would also be hours that it would just randomly stop. Although customer service reps were friendly, Teksavy’s infrastructure is not very good and they are very slow to respond. Moreover from my own experience their work orders can be quite sloppy (they messed up my installation twice).
That said, I called rogers last night, got a promotion (with no stated end date) which gives me 35mbps, 300gb limit at $ 45 a month with free modem rental with embedded router.
P.S — I told the reps at Teksavvy that I would write this review and they more or less said go ahead.
