Manny’s Bistro

Looks like old Manny couldn’t handle the heat so he got out of the kitchen. This place is shut down.

Great food. Needs to get more people in the restaurant to add to the atmosphere but the food was really tasty.

A great find on Young Road in Chilliwack.
It’s unassuming from the outside but as soon as I walked in, I was in love with the décor. The interior is sleek and cool, all chrome and gray. Even the tables and chairs are chrome-​coloured. The lighting is gorgeous and the windows have been turned into a neat lighting element with the outlines of overlapping circles cut out of metal panels. The natural light coming through the cutouts makes an interesting focal point. Kudos to the designer. It’s very clean and seems brand new — I think they opened in May. Okay, enough playing Steven & Chris and on to the food.
Even the menus seemed crisp and hot off the press (I love new menus for reasons I can’t explain). They have separate menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner and each has a good selection. We were there for a late lunch and I had a smoked salmon sandwich with lemon dill mayo and capers on focaccia and a side Caesar salad. It was exactly what I felt like eating at the time — love it when that happens. My SO had the turkey sandwich with cheese, lettuce, mayo and cranberry sauce and a side of mixed greens in a balsamic vinaigrette. Also delish — we each had half of each sandwich. Ingredients were fresh and flavourful and all their sauces are homemade. Service was delightful and bear in mind all this pleasure was happening in that gorgeous chrome room.
