My mom and I are known for doing wheelies on our adult tricycle in front of this store. True story. My grandparents live in Claresholm. And beyond the aforementioned tricycle, there’s really not much to entertain in this little town… though I suppose that’s the point. It’s a quiet little spot with a big ass highway running through it and for my grandparents, and a whole whack of cowboys, it’s perfect. But for two ladies used to daily espresso suddenly facing a cupboard of Nescafe? Maybe not so much. So for us, Latte Da is an oasis. A beautiful, Nescafe-less oasis. The Pros: * They brew a decent latte. Which is pretty important, seeing as though it’s in their name and all… * The service is lovely. With the exception of one blended beverage anomaly(see below), the service here has always been exceptionally friendly. * Awesome sandwiches. Awesome. I love a good sandwich… would go so far to say, i’m a bit of a sandwich addict — and this is a good sandwich. Best in town for lunch, hands down. * They have soup and it doesn’t look like it came from a can. Hurrah! * Baked goods. Which are hit and miss(go danish over tart; brownie over cookie… i’ve tested). Are they blow your mind delicious? No… but they are decent. * Daily lunch specials — which are always tasty. * Really great salads. Their quinoa salad? Mmmm. Delicious. And after four days of A&W, pizza and chinese, you too will faceplant into this. The Cons: * They brew a decent latte. Is it exceptional? Nah. It’s decent. It definitely falls in the middle ground for me, hence the double take. * It’s a little pricey. It’s not melt your face off pricey but you’ll drop $ 20 on a coffee and a lunch special… which is a little on the hefty side for me. * They close at 4pm(goodbye after cleaning out the garage cup of joe) and are closed Sundays. Which is a total shame, as Sunday seems like the best head-out-to-lunch-drink-multiple-lattes-and-read day of the week when you’re here. And for the love of god, don’t order the blended latte. This is the only REAL hiccup i’ve had coming here. Went with the Mother Unit for lunch after a day of cleaning out the garage. It was hot and we were exhausted so an iced something was in order and when they offered an option to have mine blended, I opted in… figuring that they just popped the whole dang thing into a blender and poof. But what I received was what looked(and tasted) like a really big cup of blended milk. I popped back inside, thinking they had forgot the espresso shot and when I inquired, they informed me it was a mix. When I politely told the girl behind the counter, I wasn’t aware of that, she huffily asked me if I wanted an extra shot in that tone that makes you feel like a complete ass for actually going through with it. So I chose NOT to ruin my lunch, left it be, finished my delicious sandwich, got heckled by my mother for my «milk shake» and tossed it as we left. It was gross. By-pass. There are FAR better options in this place… So next time, the fanciest i’ll get is over ice, but other then that, i’m a total fan of this spot.

My new favorite breakfast spot in Chlaresholm. Fresh fruit, egg on toasted english muffin with pesto sauce, tomato was delicious. My husband loved his breakfast as well. The coffee comes from cuppers in Lethbridge and we loved it. Can’t wait to try lunch here. If you are in Chlaresholm, or on the highway you need to stop. Free wifi
