Our first priority at Ian Tait Mechanical Services is customer satisfaction. We offer the following service and repairs to all vehicle makes and models including, oil changes, tune-​ups, brakes, exhaust, certified air conditioning service and upgrades, lisenced government vehicle inspections, small engine repair including chainsaws, string trimmers, lawnmowers and much more. We also sell, balance and install new tires, rotate tires, and repair flat tires, all at competetive prices.

Historique

Fondé en 1915.

Originally opened as Barry’s Blacksmith Shop in 1915. In 1929 the business became known as Barry’s Garage (gas station) and continued operating in Cobble Hill and surrounding area, until owner Gerald Barry’s passing in 1985. Barry’s Garage was reopened in 1990 by Gerald’s nephew Keith Barry. Ian Tait a close friend of the Barry family started his apprenticeship here in 1990. Ian purchased the business in 2005, and is currently known and operated as Ian Tait Mechanical Services.

I was born and raised in Cobble Hill /​Mill Bay, and currently live in Cobble Hill. I cordially welcome all new and returning customers to experience the friendly and flexible service provided at Ian Tait Mechanical Services. Located in the heart of Cobble Hill, customers choosing to wait while their vehicle is being serviced, have the option of a short walk to the Cobblestone Pub, Old School Coffee Shop, Alpine Riding Stables, or hiking/​biking the groomed trails on Cobble Hill Mountain.
