I’ve spent a few days, and late nights, walking around this park. It lines the waterfront, meaning there is a beautiful view of the harbour. It’s a great spot for watching the boats come and go, or watch the ferry make its trek across the water. For my photographer boyfriend, it’s also a favoured spot for some great shots of the city lit up over the water. It’s got a nice little walking trail for evening strolls, and a fun little playground for little ones to scamper on while you take a breather on a bench. It’s a nice strip of green space in the downtown area. It’s not as crowded as some of the larger parks across the city, so it’s a quiet and peaceful spot.

After a few days of sunny weather and a few weeks of regular ferry service back in order, the Ferry Terminal Park has once again become a regular haunt to wait out the fifteen-to-thirty minutes in between pick-ups. No — there’s not really all that much to do or see here, but as a spot to sip on a cup from TIBS while catching the best views of Halifax around, it really can’t be beat. Grab a seat on the pier, soak in some rays, and recharge before heading back over to the Halifax waterfront.

This small point of green jutting out into the harbour provides a fantastic view of all things Halifax Harbour. You can get up close to the outside of the moving ferries as they make their way into the Dartmouth Terminal. From the end of the warf on the north side, it feels like you are standing in the middle of the harbour with water all around — nice. This is the best place to get a photo of friend, relative or visitor with the iconic Halifax skyline in the background. The local TV news stations often film from here as it provides such a definitive picture of Halifax. It is not very big, so it is more of a quick stop — maybe with a Tim Hortons to enjoy the beautiful Atlantic ocean.

One of Halifax’s smaller parks but quite enjoyable. What is there to see? It’s a good spot to enjoy a beautiful view of the harbour and downtown Halifax. I’s at one end of the end of the Dartmouth Harbourwalk Trail( ) and right next to the Alderney ferry terminal. So it’s a good spot to just relax. Kids are part of your life? There is a playground and lots of grass on which to play. More museum-inclined? The World Peace Pavilion has stones from all around the world. Theoretically, it could be a performance space but I’ve never seen it as such. It’s not big, it’s not well-known but it’s enjoyable.
