Made a same day appt. The reception staff was not quite rude but certainly not pleasant either. The waiting area was dirty — dirt on the floor, spilt crackers that had gotten walked on and tracked around, etc. When I was taken to the exam room to await the doctor, the room STUNK! And the floor there was filthy as well and had candy wrappers lying on the floor. And the garbage can was overlowing with used latex gloves and various other exam materials. DISGUSTING. And while I’m sitting there awaiting the doctor, I hear a man — clearly the doctor — yelling at a patient out in the hallway telling her «You don’t believe me, you make me mad. You GET OUT OF HERE and DON“T COME BACK». Whoever he was talking to, it sounded like an older lady and I couldn’t hear her words as she never raised her voice. The «doctor» then came in the exam room and quite clearly his only interest was in shuffling me out of there with a perscription for a muscle relaxant in under 2.5 minutes. He didn’t listen to me, never asked any questions other than «does your leg hurt» and clearly had no interest in providing REAL medical attention. I threw his prescription i the garbage on my way out and then went back to the office, called my regular doctor and begged to be squeezed in sometime this week. I will NEVER go back to Medicine in Motion again. Let me sum it up… DIRTY, RUDE and apparently only interested in running an ASSEMBLY line practice with no real concern for the patients.

So I have been here a few times despite having a family doctor — because of my work schedule and the fact that my own doctor is located in Cole Harbour, I cannot also get an appointment there for my monthly B12 shot. I have stuck to my previous 3 star review until my most recent experience here on a Saturday.
Due to the holidays and whatnot, I had basically forgot about making an appointment for my shot until I started feeling like crap and by then it was too late to make one with my own doctor. So I called the MIM clinic on Saturday at 9am and the message said they don’t open until 11 but to call back at 10am when they turn on the phones…10, 10:15, 10:30…phones still off. I finally got in touch with the receptionist shortly before 11 to make an appointment as they offer same day appointments…11:30 worked for me. I got there and on weekends you sit in the front area, not the back area, and it was packed! The receptionist explained that the doctor has not showed up yet and I asked how many people were before me, and she said everyone in this waiting room… and I said but I have an appointment — she just kind of shrugged it off, and was obviously stressed. I waited about an hour past my appointment time before I was seen and the doctor (not sure his name) was super fast but quite nice.
My big question is why offer same day appointments if they can never honor them… yes I understand some people without appointments were there first BUT those who have appointments should be seen at their appt time or soon thereafter (if the dr is behind). If they cannot always abide by their appointments, then don’t offer it at the clinic, make it simply a walk in clinic! People make appointments for a reason, because they have places to be at certain times.

When I first moved to NS I came to this clinic as it is close to work and they were taking new patients. Twice now within the 4 years my «family doctor» there has moved on. Most of my visits, however, were using the walk-​in medical clinic. For the most part I’ve found the staff congenial, some days are better than others. The wait times are pretty good, better than most I’ve encountered in the past. You can just walk-​in and wait, or call in and make a same day appointment. They also have blood collection services for a fee ($ 15) on Friday mornings (7:00 — 10:00).
In the past year there have been some staff shuffles and renovations done and they seem to have made a great improvement to the whole vibe of the place. I’ve used the Soles in Motions services as well. The addition of the Lawtons pharmacy is really great for when you need to fill a prescription and don’t feel up to going anywhere else but home once you leave the clinic.
Recently, even though I first only saw her in the walk-​in clinic, Dr Scovil followed through with me on my most recent health issues. She is very personable and great at answering all my questions and explaining everything in easy to understand terms. I hope that she stays around longer then the last two.

I have been to MIM on several occassions: physiotherapy, soles in
motion and the walk in family clinic. I do not know why I end up going back because the service is awful. The majority of the staff is unfriendly, and lack a sense of professionalism compared to what I have experienced at other medical clinics. Needless to say, I am very unimpressed. To make matters worse, this place now charges a $ 10 fee for any doctors note (off work, sick, etc.). I had been going for years and will no longer support these money grubbers. Improving health of others should really be the main focus, rather than money. However, this place seems to have their priorities mixed. Not recommended.

How do you review a doctors office? I’ve been to a couple really bad ones with rude admin staff and horrible waiting rooms. This clinic had nice comfortable seating in 2 large airy waiting areas, one even had a play area for the kiddies.
They recently put in a small Lawton’s Pharmacy along with the «Soles in Motion» shop and a Physio clinic.
I’ve had to go to the drop in clinic a couple times and wait times are not very long compared to other places where you can wait ½ the day to see a doctor.
