Bowring

I really love going into Bowring, it’s such a fun gift shop to tour around in. Always shiny and white, and ooo-​eey are there a lot of glass, crystal and sparkly things. They have furniture, such as arm chairs or a decorative chaise to put in your front window, as well as lots of high end wine glasses and kitchen gifts (bowls, vases, etc). One of the things they are best known for is their selection of Christmas ornaments/​décor. But the very best thing of about Bowring is when you do find something to buy, you walk out of the store with it wrapped in that iconic black and white, polka dot, nautical box and bag… Like Birks and Hudson’s Bay, It’s a slice of true Canadian retail nostalgia!

I came here to buy a gift for my step moms birthday. I didn’t want to spend a ton of money because I was still recovering from my Christmas spending. I came in here and spent way more time than I had bargained for. The front of this store has some really nice displays of tables when you first walk in. I wish I could decorate my entire house in this beautiful stuff.
I ended up finding a vase that matched another vase she had perfectly. I went up to the till and expected to spend $ 25 on the vase. Surprise! It ended up coming up as $ 10!
I have come here a couple times since this and haven’t found sales like it again, but I always enjoy walking around the store and looking at the beautiful stuff they have available.
