Historique

Fondé en 1964.

Cameron Library officially opened on May 28, 1964, named in honor of Donald Ewing Cameron.

I spent much time in Cameron library while completing my Science degree. This was many years ago, and I have not been back since 2003.
Back in those days, I frequented Cameron Library mainly for journal articles (yes, you had to go to the library for them!) and books for essays for different classes. I never had any issues with this.
The issues I had was when I tried to study here. Seeing as this was the «Science library», this was supposed to be my domain. At that time, Cameron library had these desks that were like filing cabinet material. Whenever you moved something, it made a lot of noise. And for someone like me, who can only study in quiet environments, this place was pure torture.
I eventually moved all of my studying to the «Arts library», Rutherford south.
It looks like Cameron Library has improved since then and now have a Starbucks outside of the entrance!

This is the Science and Technology library on the University of Alberta Campus. It includes many resources including a major computer lab in the basement, entitled Knowledge Common. Behind the scenes, many offices of library staff are located here. In addition, EPLGo is located at this University of Alberta library on the main floor. This library includes much study space and private rooms can be booked for group work. Additionally there is the map collection and other important collections here. I used this library a fair bit during my science degree however I also found it valuable during other parts of my education and occasionally come here for other services such as the use of the downstairs computer labs and the printer that will bind theses among other things, also in the basement.
