I hate to admit it but it took a Halloween UYE at Mother’s Market for me to finally become aware of all the sweet delicious goodness available from Molly’s Eats. The lovely owner treated us to some of her delicious donuts and savory home made caramel candies. If your sick and tired of the cupcake craze and the mountains of sugary icing that go with it then you NEED to try these donuts. I didn’t think it was possible to find such a perfect level of sweetness until these donuts met my tastebuds. If your heading to Mother’s Market to do some shopping then you simply must stop here for a treat and/or a caffeinated beverage. I had the mochaccino during my Halloween visit and I can easily say it was the best I have ever gotten from any of the many places I have stopped for coffee in Edmonton. Don’t take my word for it though head down there on the weekend and check it out for yourself… big things of an epically delicious proportion are going on in that tiny booth!

Love, love, love… For the love of all that is baked and comforting in life, Molly’s Eats has it! Years ago I had my own little cookie biz, and my #1 stipulation was that baking should 1) be made with all natural ingredients, and 2) be delicious. You would think that this is not an overly difficult concept, but in the world of dried out mini-cupcake towers and fondant covered cakes… it is! So thank the sugar coated Gods for Molly! Delicious, home-baked delights that are made with natural, earthly bound ingredients and a whole lotta love. Oh, and she can make a heck of a latte to boot! For the winter season the Truck is gone and Molly’s Eats is a kiosk at the Mothers Market Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Go check it out and bring home some baked delights(that is if they make it through the ride home!)

Just recently, Molly’s Eats is indoors at Mother’s Market on 103 Avenue &109 Street! Just inside the door, take a hard right. Grab a coffee and wander the market. At the moment, you can get a coffee, cappuccino, cookies, and special offerings — on occasion donuts and donut bites. As always, there are gluten free cookies too. I’m a fan. Susan has plans — watch the space for new offerings and changes! I can’t wait to see what’s coming.

Molly’s Eats was one of the first food trucks that I tried in Edmonton few years ago when the food truck scene started to blow up in Edmonton. At the time the number of trucks was far fewer than what we see today. Molly’s Eats became one of my early favourites as there hasn’t been a thing on the menu I haven’t liked yet. She is also very good about providing some gluten free items and takes cross-contamination seriously. This really helps when you have a S.O. that is celiac. One of my favourite items has been the mac n cheese sandwich(the Mac Melt). But everything from the soups to sandwiches to desserts have all been fantastic. I recently tried the Chiffon cake and that was great as well. I wish that all of the food trucks in Edmonton were to this standard. I like trying new food from all of the trucks but with having 50-ish food trucks it’s hard to get to sample them all. My S.O. says if you are gluten-free or celiac you have to try the salted caramel cookies! She says they are great and you wouldn’t know they are gluten-free. The last time I visited Molly’s Eats I made the mistake of not buying her any while she was out of town. Luckily Susan(the owner/operater) was able to provide her with some when she got back from her trip! If you are checking out all of the Food Truck reviews trying to decide on a truck to try this one will not disappoint!

2013EFMF: Disappointed is the politest way to describe my complete and utter dismay with Molly’s Eats. The proprietor was eager to answer questions which gives the impression that quality and care go into the food. This weekend at folk festival in Edmonton they were serving picada(sp?) at $ 14/plate it consisted of undercooked pancetta, extremely dry fried plain plantain, super spicy chicken curry and unidentifiable dried out sausage… the only thing they got right were the yam fries… which literally a novice foodie could create, it’s one of the easiest things to make. Molly’s Eats — if I could give 1⁄3 a star I would

When I found out this truck had a mac and cheese grilled cheese sandwich, I knew I had to try it. My fiancé and I went out to see them at Churchill Square when his sister was visiting, and it was so busy! Eat St. was filing that day, so that probably explains it. Service was still fast, although they were already sold out of the dish my FH wanted to try. So, we all got the mac and cheese sandwich. It was so good! I love food trucks, and this one didn’t disappoint.

Went to the St. Albert Farmers Market this past weekend. Was pleasantly surprised by the selection of food vender’s. Decided to try Molly’s Eats as its hard to pass up a food truck. I ordered the Bulgogi Beef Taco’s for $ 7.50. The service was pleasant any my taco’s were made quickly. Unfortunately I must report that they were a bit disappointing. The order came with two 5″ tacos, not bad for $ 7.50. The taco’s had bulgogi beef that tasted more like ground beef with some lettuce and onion. They tasted fairly plain and I was hungry 30 minutes later. With the other selections at the St. Albert farmers market, I will have to take a pass on Molly’s Eats next time I grab a bit to eat at the market.

I visited a Thursday«Truck Stop» event in Old Strathcona near the Farmers market and saw 4 trucks. With the limited options I decided to try out Molly’s Eats because the line up wasn’t 40 people deep. The only full meal option available was an «everything on fries» which literally had every type of meat they serve stacked on top of fries. I considered getting this but decided against it because it was $ 12! Now in my experience and opinion Street Food should be quick, tasty, original and reasonably priced seeing as how you’re eating it on the street with your fingers or a plastic fork. I decided against the Meatatarian gouger and went with their signature fries which still put me back $ 6. They were crispy and tasty but the best part was the variety of sauces available. I had the option of following them on Twitter but honestly I would only try them again if I happened to come across the truck after I won some money at the casino…

Molly’s isn’t just good ‘food truck’ food. It’s good food, period. Molly’s Eats joins a growing fleet of food-purveying vehicles on the streets of Edmonton, and I daresay Molly’s is one of the finest. The menu is cleverly written on the side of the truck in chalk and it changes frequently. I recently tried a bacon and beef brisket sandwich that was so heavenly I ate it in about four bites. It was the right balance of sweet, smoke and savoury. The bun was so tender, the meat was so juicy — it was enviably delicious. I also tried an iced coffee, which put to shame anything I’ve tried from certain franchised coffee shops. Plus, you get to talk to Susan, the intelligent and creative force behind Molly’s(which is named after her mother, who has been a chef for many decades). I can’t wait to try other things on their menu.

Molly’s Eats is a Edmonton food truck with changing locations and menu’s. Keeping up to date with Molly’s Eats location and offerings is as easy as following them on twitter @mollyseats, or «liking» their Facebook page. Molly’s Eats is another really solid addition to the local food truck scene. With menu items including flaky empanadas, gourmet grilled cheese creations, various sliders including bacon and brisket and pulled pork, iced coffee, and milkshakes among other items, you’ll never be bored of this menu. Some of the locations they have been known to frequent are the St. Albert Farmers Market, the market at Festival Place in Sherwood Park, and in the parking lot on Victoria Park road.
