Radontech provides radon testing services for Edmonton and surrounding areas. We work with homeowners and commercial clients to accurately determine the radon level in homes or businesses so that action can be taken if necessary. Our radon measurement professional is certified in Canada to provide radon testing consistent with Health Canada protocol and guidelines.

What is Radon Gas?

Radon is a radioactive gas that comes from the ground. Radon gas is the second leading cause of lung cancer after tobacco smoking and Health Canada estimates that about 16% of lung cancer deaths in Canada are attributed to radon.

You can’t see, taste or smell it. It exists to some extent in every home, the question is, how much is in your home? The only way to know is to test your home. Health Canada recommends that every home be tested. If your home has a high radon level, there are effective and reasonably-​priced ways to reduce it.

Radontech’s mission is to help the public mitigate the health risk posed by long-​term exposure to radon gas through awareness and knowledge. We believe that being safe from radon starts with becoming aware of the health effects of radon and knowing the radon level in your home or business in order to take action if necessary. We accomplish our mission by working with our clients to determine radon gas levels in buildings and developing information resources that will contribute towards educating Edmontonians and the public at large about the health risks of radon.

After graduation with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alberta, Barry has spent over six years in the health sector. Barry brings a wealth of radon knowledge to your service.
