The absolute best place on earth to buy glasses and sunglasses! The customer service is exceptional and the selection is amazing. They are always getting new things in, making the hardest thing about the visit choosing which frames you’re going to get! I have a few pairs of glasses from here and they are great at readjusting them any time I need. I really feel valued as a customer.
There products are very high quality and extremely original!

This place has nice selection of glasses, and the price is in the higher range. However, the customer service is unexpectedly worse than chained stores. The sales girl there was nice to me when she was helping me to select the frame, but the good customer service stops as soon as I have paid for the frame. There was no greetings from her for the subsequent visits (frame pick-​up and glasses adjusting), and at one point she made an eye contact with me but straightly walked away and stood behind the till looking at the far distance, such an awkward situation. Would not going back again for the poor customer service.

I went into the Observatory Opticians in October of 2014 and was very impressed by their selection of elegant, modern and daring frames. I happened to fall in love with a pair of frames by the Swiss eyewear company Götti — round titanium frames with black acetate complementing their silver finish.
Sadeeq, the Observatory’s retail manager, was very helpful in recommending styles that would be of interest, and when I asked if I could have the store hold the glasses for a couple of months, they were happy to do so for a small deposit.
I finally went in for my fitting a few days ago, and the service was just as good as it was in October. I love the new specs, and, unfortunately for my wallet, I will be back again (note to self: DON’T look at new frames on your way out of the shop next time).

I have never worn glasses so was out to buy my first pair. Stopped by a few other places earlier in the day, and didn’t find any frame that was more than alright. Because of this, I didn’t have very high expectations when I walked into the Observatory late on a Saturday afternoon, but they really won me over! This was such a great experience! Immediately when they saw me walk into the store they knew what style of frames would fit me. I didn’t have to try more than a few pairs before we had a winner. 15 minutes later I was all measured up and done! And on Tuesday (a couple of days later) I will get my new glasses. Very excited!
The store had an excellent selection of frames — much more exciting than what I saw in the other stores. In addition, the staff didn’t just sell glasses, they had the required expertise to find the glasses that fitted my face. Maybe the frames were a bit more expensive than what you’d find at some other stores, but to have someone who really knows what (s)he is doing find the perfect fit is to me most certainly worth the extra bucks. Also, the lenses seemed to be about the same price as in other stores.

First off I just wanted to mention, that I don’t have a very strong prescription. I started wearing glasses after my son was born just to refocus on the fuzzies. I’m telling you this because I don’t need to spend a lot on glasses. Yes, there are lots of places to get inexpensive glasses that will do just fine, but seriously, you just need to go here.
I’ve been in the service industry for over 15 years, so it really grinds my gears when I know what I want, am ready to part with my money and end up getting the worst service. Places that sell glasses based on volume are usually so busy that they don’t have the time to spend with you on finding the right pair. I also get impatient when shopping online as I don’t know if they’ll be the right fit etc. same problem.
I went to see Sadeeq at the Observatory cos practically everyone with smart looking glasses that I knew went there. I was just going to ‘look’ as I already had glasses and didn’t need a new pair. When I went in I was overwhelmed by all the beautiful glasses. Sadeeq quickly determined the few pairs that he thought would work for my face shape and lack of nose bridge (I’m asian so I have a flat face). He spent the time to go through different frames with me, giving me his honest opinion and I ended up picking a pair that I would normally not pick for myself. The pair I wanted didn’t have the nose pads so he told me he could get them applied.
A week later I picked up my glasses and once again, Sadeeq took his time to adjust them properly. The nosepads looked great and just seemed like they were already part of the glasses. All in all I was just so happy with my experience! Truthfully, these glasses were more than what I would have normally wanted to pay, but because I was able to spend the time and really find the right pair with a knowledgeable professional, I will definitely be going back. To me there is no cap on amazing service — and my glasses are really sweet too! I’ve gotten so many compliments on them.
