Tony Roma’s

Happy Birthday — -nevermind.
I have only been to Tony Roma’s once, and I will NEVER go back, I recommend you do the same.
For my birthday I decided that a couple of friends and I would go to a new restaurant (also something you probably shouldn’t do on your birthday) and I chose Tony Roma’s.
When I went there for my birthday I expected a similar environment to East Side Marios. It was a bit more expensive in terms of the portions they give you.
I wasn’t overly impressed with the food and thought we could have gone somewhere, anywhere else to get more for our money, or at least better food.
Service wasn’t great, it looked like being understaffed was a norm to them and the waitress was rarely seen.
After we finished our meal (finally, after pawing over some poor french fries) we asked about what they did for birthdays. The first server and supporting server told us that I should have signed up for their birthday club 2 – 3 months ago to get anything.
That’s not the worst part, they then asked my friend when her birthday was and said she should sign up for the birthday club thing and they completely shifted the focus from me. I mean I get it I should have signed up for that thing — still ridiculous, but you couldn’t take 10%or do anything, anything at all.
I will never eat at this place ever again, I don’t even normally hold a grudge but now when I see a Tony Roma’s I glare intensely.

Everything was so average about this place it’s actually almost funny. I think they set it up that way on purpose so they can keep the old folk away from the Smitty’s near by. So yeah, my «Wild Mushroom Burger» was ok. The coffee was well, coffee. The staff were nice but not that annoying nice. Still, nothing stood out though. View I had were people walking in the mall and the escalator to the now unused movie theater. Yep, just your average restaurant. Now I know why I haven’t been there in five years. It felt exactly the same as it did then!

My husband and I popped into the Westmount location while we were waiting for our daughter. My husband was VERY hungry and I was surprised when he ordered the steak and cheese sandwich. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich. I was even more surprised to see the portions — lots of meat, coleslaw and fries on the side. The food was delicious and there was no way we could even think of having dessert — satisfied our hunger!

I’ve been coming to this location –Westmount– for around eight years (2−3/yr) and the food is always so yummy. Although it helps that I typically come during off peak times like mid afternoon so maybe that helps as the staff are never really taxed like they would be at busier times. Often you’ll see the manager clearing tables and doing other things to give the staff a hand which is nice. I gave 5 stars because over the eight years I’ve been coming here, I’ve never had a bad server or food. Great job guys!

Tony Roma’s is usually a quite positive experience but this location seems to have issues with producing food up the level of quality expected. The meat was quite burnt and unappealing. The service was fine but I left with the taste of burnt meat in my mouth…

Food is lacking flavour and is bland. Last time we were here, we waited 20 minutes for a drink in a dead restaurant. We won’t even go back for a free birthday meal

The Place for Ribs! That is what the ad’s say.
Being a government worker it is tough to go out for lunch at times. Technically, by the book, according to the rules, policy states and all those other well quoted statements we only get half an hour for lunch. Now, that being said, if you do take longer, and you do make up the time management lets you have a little longer lunch. And since I am management I guess it was okay that we took over an hour for lunch.
Back to the story, three of us from different offices decided to meet for a lunch meeting (also known as constructive female dog whining session). We chose the Tony Roma’s at Westmount as it was central.
Our server got our drinks to the table quickly, briefed us on the specials and took our orders. We ordered two orders of the Riblets and one soup and sandwich (tomato rigatoni soup and bbq beef sandwich). The food was out in less than fifteen minutes.
The soup was cream of broccoli and cheddar, but that was fine anyway. If we had waited for the server to check on us to send it back, we might still be there. The riblets were great and the sides were fine as well. Good solid food.
We finally saw our waitress again when the credit cards came out. And we were out in about 45 minutes. Good timing and decent food. Not rockstar service though, but a good solid 3 stars.

It seems that every time I go back to this Tony Roma’s I leave bit more disappointed.
I went here my boyfriend and his dad yesterday and was not impressed.
First we watched the hostess argue with one of waiters about whether or not she should seat us in his section. The waiter ‘s shirt was unbuttoned so much that you could see his entire chest. It was clear with his diamond earrings and bangs that he wasn’t there to serve us, he must have been there for a fashion show.
We were seated at a table that was dirty. The hostess put menus down on the dirty table for us so I had to ask for it to be cleaned. There were crumbs and pop all over it. We sat down and she brought back a cloth and started to wipe the table. She got rid of the crumbs by wiping them directly onto my lap. Thanks a lot.
Then we had to wait ten minutes before a server came to talk to us. What is going on with this place?! I’ve never been to it when it’s been this bad. They weren’t even busy! There were only about 6 tables of people in the entire place!
The only reason I didn’t give them 1 star is because when our waitress finally came to see us she was really friendly and nice. And our ribs were nothing short of amazing. The ribs account for the extra star!
As far as service goes though, skip this Tony Roma’s. I’m going to from now on.

This is one place that my parents actually like to come to and, get this, eat the food! My parents are pretty picky about where they eat out. They are old school Europeans and are the type of people who would rather stay home instead of going out for a meal they could cook at home for cheaper. But, like I said, this is one place they like going to. They say the food is good and for the amount of food you get the price is pretty sweet. I agree with them! This is one place where one of my guy friends loves to eat ribs from. Every time we go to Tony Roma’s he always orders the baby back ribs, which are said to be word famous. I’m not a ribs kind of girl, but he let me try one and they are really good! The sauce they use is very yummy, but ribs in general are very messy! Anyways, if you are going to eat at Tony Roma’s let me give you some tasty suggestions. For a starter the Spinach Artichoke dip is really good. I also really like their Caesar salad but I’m sure you can get that instead of fries if you don’t want to order a whole starter sized salad.
I’m sure I’ve mentioned before, in past reviews, that I prefer chicken to beef or pork so the dishes I usually order are chicken related; if it seems I am being biased I apologize. Anyways, the Grilled Chicken or the Chicken Jack and Bacon Sandwich are both really good. I happen to really enjoy their fries at Tony Roma’s so that’s what I pick if I have a choice. There’s something about their fires that I really like… I can’t put my finger on it, but their good.
If you can hold out for dessert I suggest ordering the Apple Crisp a la Mode; this is a peace of heaven and it’s a great dish to share if you and a friend want to slit something delicious. Another delightful choice is the Roma’s Colossal Cheese Cake; it’s pretty filling so if you are on the verge of becoming full then I suggest sharing this piece of heaven with someone.
The servers are always nice every time we come to the Westmount Shopping Center location. They can get pretty busy, but even when things are crazy the servers seem to always be in a good mood.

I don’t go to Tony Roma’s too often but when I do, the experience is great. This restaurant is the kind of place where you go to eat ribs and drink beer with your friends. There is no need to dress up… you just take it easy here. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed.
Every time I ordered ribs at Tony Roma’s, they were cooked to perfection: moist, succulent, delicious, with loooots of sauce on them! Cocktails, wines and beer on tap are equally impressive. In fact, I think that Tony Roma’s drinks menu has expanded over the years.
I never tied any soups, salads or appetizers at Tony Roma’s so I can’t comment on their quality, but I certainly attest the quality of ribs. Some other items on the menu I can recommend are shrimp deep fried in Japanese bread crumbs (great with beer!) and chicken spinach stack.
Customer service is speedy and on the level.
