Terrible, worse than MacDonald’s. For the love of god, never tell a tourist that this is the best we have to offer. Frozen mccains fries, unseasoned burger(although not frozen as it was served bloody, but that happens, no one is perfect). There is, however, no excuse for the poor food they serve. Unless you think a swanson dinner is awesome, dont go here. Friendly staff though, which is rarer than good food in NS. Army food is better. Go to Cheese Curds.

Not impressed. The fries were like a no name brand frozen economy style thing and so were the onion rings. I didn’t try the chicken burger. Had a cheeseburger and it was okay. The bill for the two of us came to $ 23.

Waiting at the airport with my sister and family we decided to share a last meal before seeing her off to Abu Dahbi. With the choice of BK and Chicken Burger, the latter was the obvious choice. Knowing how good the burgers and chickenburgers are we chose those and decided to have a Canadian staple… a poutine. The burgers and chicken were amazing.(love the cranberry sauce on the chickenburg). This is were I would have given a 4 star review. But unfortunately the poutine was horrible. The fries are string which is OK but the gravy was tasteless and looked like a grey mess. Not to mention it was over 6 $. I will eat there again but will not choose the poutine. Step it up CB! :)

I get that the original Chickenburger is an instiution but I’ve never been. Unless this place rachets it up a notch, it doesn’t matter how long the original has been around, the brand can only survive on it’s history so long. Based strictly on this location and my experience, meh. I had a chocolate shake, which I will admit was pretty good, a double hamburger, which was average and an order of fries which, frankly, I had to check just to make sure I wasn’t eating the box. Being a food court type set up, I suppose the seating is shared with the other vendors but what a mess. Nothing was cleaned. Large groups of people were lingering at the dining tables, using it as sort of a waiting area. There was really nothing about the whole experience that encouraged me to say more then… meh, I’ve experienced better.

Airport grub is usually provided by a big name chain and is not-so-healthy, so this restaurant is a welcome change that adds some local flair. The original Chickenburger has been a Bedford landmark since 1940, so while an airport concession’s decoration is necessarily artifice, the pedigree makes the 50’s décor semi-legit. What is totally legit is the chicken burger itself, which for the uninitiated is really a hot chicken sandwich on a burger bun. The chicken is sitting in hot broth, and is quickly pulled out, put on the bun, and topped with assorted condiments like relish, cranberry sauce, and fried onions. If you skip the mayo, this is pretty healthy fast food. Speaking of fast food, a common complaint is how long it takes to get your order. This tends to be true if you order fries, onion rings, a burger, etc. because the only pre-cooked items here are the chicken and the fried onions. The sign at the cashier even says(as do all Chickenburger locations): «We make take a bit longer, but it tastes a lot better». So… stick with a chickenburger-only order if you’re pressed for time.

I was flying out to Florida and decided to stop by the Chicken burger airport location. The food is just as tasty as the Bedford location. The prices seemed to be the same as well, we went with two chicken burger, fries and drink for about $ 20.00. I will be back on my next trip through the airport!

Holy moly… twenty minutes for a burger and onion rings? That was definitely not what I was expecting after ten hours of travel time. I just needed to get me some grease and get the hell outta dodge. I’m hoping it was just because we arrived shortly before closing time but they just didn’t seem to know what they were doing back there. Four staff juggled around each other in the small space to handle all the closing duties as our food was cooking — often forgetting entirely about it, occasionally not knowing how to cook it(one shouted to another«do onion rings go in for XX minutes or XX minutes?»), and often just not considering it a priority over packing up the condiments. I can’t say I’ll be back often but the onion rings were just what the doctor ordered and the burger drew rave reviews. I just don’t have too much confidence in the staff nor their grasp on the ‘fast food’ concept.

You wouldn’t think that dropping a friend off at the airport would be that exciting, unless that person wasn’t really a friend and you were just glad to get them out of the country. This wasn’t the case however, as I was eager to try something I’d never had before… The Chickenburger! A fixture of Bedford that is older than both of my parents and likely most of the rest of Bedford, the Chickenburger franchise at the airport obviously can’t have the full experience of the atmosphere of the original, but the counter area certainly tries to replicate it and definitely has more character than the nameless restaurant that was there before it. While it doesn’t have all the character, it does have the food… and the occasional bird flying above your head. Fortunately, this is what I’m really after(the food, not the birds), and after seeing my friend off to travel to warmer climes, I had to indulge. The menu is fairly limited, with just a handful of diner offerings including hamburgers, fish and chips, some sides and of course their namesake sandwich. I ordered a cheeseburger with the works(relish, mustard and onion), ketchup and mayo, and the same for the chickenburger, knowing that the sandwich is only chunks of chicken and might need the benefit of condiments to add flavour and moisture. After a short wait, my number is called out and I pick up my meal which comes in simple wax paper-ish sheaths. Given the old school nature of the restaurant, I didn’t think they would be large sandwiches, and they definitely aren’t. My choice of so many condiments actually overwhelms the meat on both of them, so I suggest paring down your choices. The burger isn’t bad, but isn’t the best — I don’t think it’s from frozen, but its a bit lacking in flavour and its own natural juices. In the future, I’ll likely go with a double cheeseburger and just mustard and onions, to try and let the burger shine. The chickenburger, for anyone that doesn’t know, is chunks of chicken, completely unbreaded and not in patty form. It’s definitely better than the burger, with a distinct chicken flavour and not as dry as the burger, and it’s kind of nice that it’s its own unique thing. Now that I’ve oddly tried the two newest location of The Chickenburger without trying the original, I’m going to have to find an excuse to mosey out to Bedford to complete the trifecta. The adventure continues…

Was so happy to walk into Stanfield airport tired, hungry, and hungover and see the glistening lights of the Chicken Burger sparkle as I stopped heading towards security and started thinking about what to get on my sangwich. I decided cranberry and mayonnaise since it’s the holidays. I ordered a cheeseburger for good measure, too. Certainly didn’t decrease in quality from the original Bedford location — and although the small signature sandwich rings in at 3.95 $ plus tax… it’s worth it to treat yourself to two or three. Throw in a milkshake and some onion rings(don’t bother with the fries)…you’re almost guaranteed to sleep that entire flight.
