I have been going to this pub for about 10 years. The food used to be really good, key phrase«used to». It seems this place has been going downhill for the last couple years, not sure what happened. Both me and my girlfriend have gotten sick twice this year after going here. I think the draft beer is what made us really sick this time. Everytime we have tried to give this place another shot something else happens. Bad food. Bad waitresses. Very bad draft beer. Clean your lines once in awhile! The Artful Dodger is taking the title from Riders Pub(R.I.P.) as the worst Pub in Langley!

Had lunch today and it met all my expectations. Don’t go in thinking your going to get the cool new pub look. It is old school right out of the 70’s and quite enjoyable. They work hard to accommodate and the food is decent. Take if for what it is and you will enjoy your visit

Got to try the burger made with two grilled cheeses as the bun! Insane!

Usually the food is outstanding, so as a reward after a hard days work, we ordered the«Special…Steak and Prawns!» …@$ 16. The steak [requested medium-well] was surprisingly very under-cooked. We asked to have it cooked to medium-well, the courteous waitress returned it cooked, medium –well, along with a $ 5 coupon for the inconvenience. After a few bites, we noticed the steak was extremely salty, and overly chewy, it was really weird. We ate the steak anyway, as we were famished. Our best guess was that it was a lump of chuck, that was overly marinated, [ to make it appear like something of a higher grade] it was some hideous steak. And I normally am not picky about a decent meal, but this was bad. And the prawns were ridiculously tiny. Shrimp dressed like prawns? It was ridiculous. So my question is, «What is Going on?» The Artful Dodger is usually known for it’s Outstanding Pub Food! Is it time for a Tune-up, do you think? …

This is one place I don’t mind patronizing in my boots and horse-smelling breeches, because I know I won’t offend the blue collar crowd(and may actually be more presentable than most patrons). The menu is tired and redneck — as a vegetarian, I struggle to find something to order — and the bar offerings are standard(not a craft beer in sight). They also ignore the No Smoking bylaw — not sure how they get away with that! There are very few pubs/casual restaurants in south Langley, which is the only reason for my rare visits to this poor facility.

One word to describe this place, different. This is in the heart of Brookswood where there are a lot of farmers, ranchers, and other cow pokes. Not a country bar by any means but it has a rustic look and feel to it seeing that there are motor bikes and horses parked in the same area, yes there is a post to tie your horse to in case you ride there on one. The pub has a cozy remote cabin feel to it, nice fireplace, comfy chairs and tables, old book cases and rustic pictures and paintings. There is what my friends call the«Knights of the round table» there as it is a large oval like table that can hold around eight people I think but if you want it be there early. Patrons are hard working farmers, trades people, and average joe’s who grab a bite to eat, have a beer and talk b.s. about their work day. Older crowd which is nice so there aren’t any young people acting foolish here causing problems. Service here is great as the waitresses are the more old school, the«don’t like it hun? kiss my grits» attitude. They are fast, prompt, and remember who you are if you come here on a regular basis. Food you get here are generous portions, nachos were mountain high, fish and chips were big and not greasy, and the sandwiches are great. If you go on a Friday night for karaōke be there early to get a table as the palce fills up quickly. There is one older fellow who sings there we call«Chester» he is a great singer and has great audience appeal, he also serenades the ladies both young and old. My only beef is that the younger people(19 – 23) go up there drunk and make an attempt to sing which kills the mood. But if you want great good, service, and a good time go to the Artful Dodger Pub

We have been going to the Dodger since we moved to Langley in 2004 and have always had good service and really awesome food but after we moved in 2010 we finally made it back and were extremely disappointed. The service was always a bit of a hit and miss but the good made up for it. Now the food has gone the way of the service:( Chicken strips were a joke. I could have bought some of Janes chicken strips and tossed then in my oven at home and had the same thing at less $$$. Sadly this is another place that has seem to go downhill :(

I was a customer of the Artful Dodger Pub a few years ago but since moving away from Langley, I hadn’t been in the Pub for about three years. This visit, on a recent Saturday afternoon, was not enjoyable. We waited over 35 minutes for a waitress to come to our table; in another 20 minutes without having received our drinks or our food, we left. While the waitress was pleasant and apologetic, it was obvious that the few waitresses who were on staff were way over-assigned areas. One waitress cannot possibly serve all of the patrons in half of the pub. More wait staff are definitely needed. This was at one time, a great place to stop in for a drink and some great food. Now … well it is tired; very tired and in need of a managerial overhaul.
