Food Basics needs to rethink their mission statement because the «basics» in grocery shopping is not well represented here. First off, the selection of breads, fruits and veg, fresh meats, and dairy products is limited. You won’t find more than one brand of cottage cheese, more than two brands of toast bread, or more than a few types of unpackaged fruits and veg. Walking the perimeter of this store is depressing because they don’t have affordable + fresh stuff — no, the affordable stuff is in the aisles where fresh doesn’t matter.
So no, I probably wouldn’t come here if I didn’t live so close. This place would be okay for pantry items since there’s always lots of sales there, but for someone who wants fresh produce/​meat/​bread with more than a few options, you’re better off going elsewhere.
