I booked a package b and switched the mani to a pedi. The pedi wasn’t that great, the massage wasn’t that great, the facial really deep cleansed my face but left me with a swollen nose and red marks all over my face (I have some blackheads but not THAT many). Overall it’s a good deal for the money but not exactly great spa service. Head over to silverleaf for a relaxing spa day.

Went there for their spa package (foot soak, 45 min foot massage and 45 min body massage). I had Grace who was great — she was pleasant and attentive. I felt great afterwards and didn’t feel rushed. Overall, the spa itself wasn’t bad at all. It was clean and nicely decorated and the front desk staff was friendly. I’d say for the price of the package, it was a good experience and I’ll definitely be going back.

This is a very sad review to write as I have never had any issues with this spa before. I’ve recommended this spa to every single person I know because I loved it that much.
Today however I walked in and was greeted rudely by the gentlemen behind the counter. No proper customer service, his attitude was not the greatest thing to be greeted by. Fair enough I usually let these things go. The lady did our colour change for our toes and was not the friendliest most welcoming person there, considering most of the staff has always dealt with us diligently. She did our polish and did a great job I was happy with it and she told us to go dry our feet and we never saw her again, she didn’t come back to check on us, or ask us if we were okay, or even tell us when we were ready to go. my friend and I literally had to check our toes ourselves and walk out because we knew she would not be coming back.
We walk to front reception to pay and the gentlemen told us our price, I mentioned that Unilocal offered 10% off if we mentioned it and he looked so unamused and annoyed. He began to huff and puff and then called the manager or owner on the phone to ask if that was okay to give it to us. He then proceeded to give us more attitude and when we paid he did not say goodbye, thank you, or any proper normal customer service etiquette and we were on our way.
I will place a disclaimer and state that this spa usual has excellent customer service and when the owners of the spa are there everything is run perfectly, but when management is not present it goes from a 5 star spa to a 1.5 star. I hope you take this as constructive criticism and further train your staff how to treat their customers in a way in which they would be happy to leave and even happier to come back.

Okay, I have not reviewed for quite a while now. Discovery Day Spa deserves the honour of having the best review for being the best Day Spa for the working people. Quick and dirty version is this: Affordable, knowledgeable, and damn good one-​hour massage from «Cookie». Please pardon my language but all I can say on my way home is «OH MY GO. SHH, I feel so efffffff-​specially good right now.
Why should you take my review to heart? I have seen a mediocre, okay, good, and better massage therapist. «Cookie» is right at the top for me, now, right on par with my regular massage therapist. I cannot cheat on her because she is good too. «Cookie» is so knowledgeable about the body, knots, the circulation, and knew the pressure spots on the full body. Cookie imparted the traditional Chinese health knowledge about the body pains I have been feeling. I did not expect to have an incredible experience, as I was just looking to waste an hour waiting for my other half. Wow! So good! I am so thankful from the minute she greeted me to the very last second when she cracked my neck. I LOVE IT, I LOVE HER. I sound like a stalker; that’s how amazing the massage was from Cookie at Discovery Day Spa. As in, I «feel» so good from head to toe!!!
I want to tell you all that I learned from her, but I want you to meet her for yourself. I really hope that the next person she meets would feel the same. In any case, I will stand by my review for today’s massage therapy. I never tip well. Guess what? I tipped WELL for her! She deserved it. Please never leave, Cookie! Okay?

I don’t even have a chance to do massage. I called 2 days before I wen there and I did make appointment. When I arrived there on Sunday, the front desk just told me there was no appointment made?
What the hell? Was I calling a fake number? Or was I dreaming? Never want to be there anymore.

I’ve been coming here for a while (over a year) and at first I was so enchanted with the décor inside and the new-​ness of the place. My first visit over a year ago was amazing! So amazing I purchased a pre-​paid package which I am glad to say it completely redeemed so I do not ever have to visit here again. The RMT who performed my first visit massage was great and very friendly. They wanted me to purchase the package so they showed me around and even sold me on the fact that they have a «VIP» room which allows up to 3 people and houses a hot tub for relaxation before/​after your scheduled massage as long as you inform them.
Fast track to after I purchase the package I slowly began to notice my masseuses were NOT RMT as I was being told — they were unregistered. Why did I pay RMT prices for non-​registered masseuse? I have gone to enough RMT massages to know how RMT’s perform, however, after the first initial visit here, I’ve had the so-​called «RMT’s» straddle me while massaging me and actually causing me more pain and discomfort days after! This is fraud.
Secondly, I always booked the VIP room as I go with another person, and upon my most recent visit (a little over a month ago) I was told in order to use the hot tub — I have to pay $ 20.00 per person to use it. THIS WAS SOLD me to AS part of my package when I first pre-​paid!
These Asian people who run this «spa» are crooks and they are hiding under the pretense of telling their customers that their masseuses are registered when they are not and charging their customer higher prices under that false information.
Beware customers — if you want a massage that is fine — but do not be fooled — you are not getting a RMT massage even though you are paying for it. May as well go for the non-​RMT because it is the same people performing the massages. And don’t bother purchasing the pre-​paid package — it’s a complete scam.

Called in on a Sunday afternoon looking to get a couples massage and a manicure for myself done on the same day (if they were available). Was told to come in «at any time» so I figured they weren’t very busy and could accommodate us. Having been there once before, I kind of knew what to expect.
My first visit a few months back was enjoyable overall. I like the interior — spacious and clean. They have great operating hours which is a huge plus. Although I felt my masseuse was rather inexperienced and didn’t really know what she was doing, I still felt nice and pampered after. A drink is usually served at the start while you wait. Once they’re ready, a pair of slippers will be brought to you along with a robe. Someone leads you to the change room and shows you to a locker as well as the shower. Then you wait in your assigned room to begin your massage.
My most recent visit was the complete opposite and a total disaster. We walked in and the front desk staff was occupied with another customer. No biggie, we took a seat and waited. When they were available, we checked in, confirming our appointment and about 10 minutes later, one of the male staff led us to our room. Turned around, he’s gone. No instructions, slippers, robes, nothing. We go back to the front desk to ask for some robes and we’re quickly handed them as he rushes off to go elsewhere. We then try to hunt him down as he’s walking in the hallway to ask if we have enough time to shower and if it was possible to put our stuff in a locker. He briefly pauses to speak to us and says the lockers are under the bed and continues on his way. Lockers under the bed? First of all, why would anyone put it under the bed? And secondly, it wasn’t even there! SO AGAIN, we seek for assistance and he tells us there are lockers in the women’s change room (waving his hand indicating that it’s on the other side without actually taking me). Fine. I go into the locker room to quickly take a shower. Realized I still don’t have slippers so I put my sneakers back on. Tried to put my stuff in one of the lockers on the top shelf and as I opened one to see if it was empty, the ENTIRE door came off. These aren’t small, light lockers but rather large, wooden cabinets. Got a slight bump on the head and small scrape on the hand from trying to catch the door from falling on me. Completely and utterly unacceptable. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out all the things that were wrong about this situation.
I was already aggravated with the service up to this point and this was the final straw. I voiced my complaint to the lady at the front from the service to the locker door. I even led her into the change room to show her what happened because it didn’t seem like she was really registering what I was saying. She apologized with a half smile and then went on to assist other customers, expecting me to just quietly go back to my massage room and carry on. I got changed and walked right out.
Safety issue aside, people come to a spa to relax and to be pampered not to BEG to be pampered. They are being paid to provide a service. Why do I have to constantly pester you for the bare necessities that you should be providing on your own? I held them to a VERY basic standard in which they could not even meet. If they were busy, they should’ve scheduled me another day or told me to come at a later time. They were greedy and tried to take on more than they could handle.
Their sh*tty service and failure to escalate and provide a satisfactory solution to a legitimately serious problem will be the reason why I am never coming back here again.

So I am a complete spa noob. I did not know good, deep tissue massages mean pain. Lots of pain. But now I do. My calves have turned into jelly.
But I was really quite impressed with this place. For my birthday, my boyfriend bought me (and himself) access to the hot tub ($ 40) and a 1 hour RMT massage (about $ 100 each). He made sure repeatedly that we would be placed in the same room so this wasn’t an issue for us. The outside was your typical, «possibly sketchy», big Chinese letters shop front. Once you step inside, it was a beautiful environment with high ceilings and wooden décor. Great way to get you into that relaxation mood.
The VIP room held up to 3 people and this was where all the hot tubbing and massaging took place. It was a very nice room, dimly lit with a curtain separating the hot tub and shower area so you could have some privacy. The hot tub was legit with lights and water jets. We got the full body massage afterwards and it was the strangest hour of my life, rotating between intense pain and almost falling asleep from being relaxed. I guess you can always ask them to lighten the pressure (which I did, twice) but how else was I going to get all those kinks and knots out. The head massage at the end was fantastic though. I wish I can buy a 30 minutes session of just that.
Service was very friendly. There were a couple of small communication issues here and there because, you know, Asian spa places. But all in all, the receptionist and massage therapists were professional. They brought us water during the hot tub and after the massage.
Even though it wasn’t all comfort and relaxation, they did do a good job of loosening some of my problem areas. Now that I know what to expect, I do plan to come back but will probably have to ask for a lighter massage style next time.

Came here for the ‘DDS’ package on valentine’s day with my husband. We will not be going back. The whole experience felt rushed, most of the items listed online for the package were not offered or included (we did not receive facials that were originally on the site– the package was edited online after and facials were removed, we had just a regular massage when we supposed to be able to choose hot stone or body scrub and we had no access to the hot tub). The foot and back massages were just okay, but the manicure and pedicure were not good and for something advertised for couples– the majority of the time we were not even together. The whole experience was not relaxing at all and we will not be returning.

Got it for my parents. The DDS couples day spa. They said the massage was amazing. VIP Room was really great!

Came here today for the first time based solely on the reviews I had read. It was a great experience from start to finish!
This place really knows how to treat you great. The atmosphere is relaxing and fresh, very open and spacious!
My masseuse, Connie, was knowledgeable and left me feeling great.
Pros include: great prices, great combo rates and specials, very very very clean, location, staff are very friendly.
I honestly could not think of any cons for this place. There is a language barrier but that is somewhat expected in an Asian owned spa. So really nothing.
Left here feeling relaxed, refreshed and happy that I got my bang for my buck! Will be returning soon!

I have been coming here for almost 2 years now. They never missed my appointments nor did I ever need to wait for more than 15 mins.
I have tried foot and body massages, manicure and pedicure. There’s not a time I do not feel satisfied leaving here. Staff are friendly, especially front desk Helen. She always makes sure things are in check. There’s a time I booked my appointment for 4pm and she knew I wanted to come earlier. She called me back right away to accommodate me when she knew a customer CXL her appointment. I claim my corporate benefits here, never had any problems and I get my RMT receipt right away every time. Much less fishy than other massage places.
What I like the most is the cleanliness and comfortable environment here. They also serve you fruits, cookies, coffee, tea and pop. The inside décor is modern.
Some important thing to note is that I have verbally verified w the staff and have seen it with my eyes that their manicure/​pedicure tools have run thru UV sterilizer. This is very important to me as I wanted to make sure after each customer, they do sanitize their equipment. If for whatever reason, you have a cut on your skin, you could get infections from unclean tools. Also, the plastic slippers and toe separators that they use on you, the do not reuse or recycle them. You might think that this is very basic and not a very meaningful point to make, but I actually have seen stores reuse on other customers, which is pretty disgusting.
Massage: use Eric, he’s really good and knowledgable. He lets me know how and why I should change my postures and gave me health tips.
Pedicure/​manicure: use Judy. She is fast careful friendly and cute. She can speak Chinese and English. Everytime she carefully makes sure my nails are completely try before letting me go.
I am a repeating customer here because of all the amazing points I listed above.
I think they are going to add lashes extensions service soon here. I can’t wait :)

My wife and I go here all the time now for our massage services. Here’s why I think Discovery Day is better than most spas I’ve ever been to:
— The place is magnificently big, spacious, and nicely decorated. The interior is much better than the somewhat tacky-​looking outdoors. Believe me.
— Wide variety of services, from basic RMT services to packages, they have the whole shebang here.
— Competitive rates, as the packages here is awesome. And if you just wish to have a short-​term non-​RMT session (which you cant claim, unfortunately), they have half-​hour sessions at very cheap prices.
— You get snacks and hot beverages while you wait (though this seems to be hit-​or-​miss, sometimes they offer you, sometimes they don’t). Make sure you ask for tea/​hot water, they will provide for you.
The tricky thing obviously is finding someone you like and stick to them. Every masseuse has a different style so it’s not very easy to issue a blanket statement as to the quality of the massage. I CAN say though, that I’ve had about a 80% success rate here in finding an excellent RMT or masseuse, and for me that is a very good number.
Biggest issue is the one thing that plagues so many Asian spas: you always have many attendants who are excellent at what they do but with a limited grasp of English. Discovery Day is better than most Asian spas in this regard, but the problem still surfaces from time to time.
Overall though, I’d recommend this place. Compared to most Asian spas or RMT places I’ve been to, this one is one of the best ones I’ve been to. Not perfect, but very VERY good.

Worst customer service ever!!! I never thought I would have to write this kind of of review. I had called them on Dec 28^th to book an appointment for Dec 31^st for my mother and I, as this was my Christmas gift to her. They assured me they would be open and then proceeded to take down my information for booking the appointment. Great!
Dec 31^st
10:30 AM– This is where the shit hit the fan. I called the day of to confirm my appointment as I forgot the time I booked. A lady picks up the phone and I gave her my name and my reason for calling. She goes «can you give me the time, there are so many names»…okay…I say «I don’t know, that’s why I am calling to double check» and so I gave her my phone number. She goes through the list and I find out that my name and phone number are no where to be found…
I typically wouldn’t be upset but WHAT?!? Are you telling me if I had shown up with my mom that we would never have got the services done. At this point, I am annoyed and the lady goes «Oh it’s busy, the other girl must have forgotten to write it down». Seriously, there is no way you aren’t looking at the calendar and not write down the booking. There was no point in arguing, I ended up rebooking at 3:30 for two people and that I would want to have the mani and pedi done at the same time.
3:25 PM — I walk in and I end up getting frustrated talking to the lady at front desk because now my mom and I were being separated. I go «Why did you say yes, when it wasn’t going to happen!!!» and she’s like «we are so busy»…blah blah, then why would you book if you are at capacity.
We wait 25 minutes before I head to the front desk to ask how much longer and blatantly said «If nothing is going to happen in the next 10 minutes, I want a refund of the gift certificate I purchased».
The lady at front desk is like «5 more minutes, the client is getting dressed»…I could only roll my eyes.
Just to end this review, I didn’t do the manicure because during the pedicure (which was poorly done), I was just too mad and was picking up on all the other crap they were causing for customers. For example, there was another woman getting a pedicure and couldn’t get why her friend’s pedicure was so quick.
Don’t get Katrina because she was too busy handling other issues from other customers and overall, just rude. She actually rolled her eyes when the the other woman was complaining about her friend’s pedicure.
I really was here to bond with my mother and I couldn’t do that at Discovery Day Spa. It’s unfortunate as I had high hopes for this place. I wont be coming back here and I advise you all to use your best judgement and pick a place less chaotic and unorganized. I felt more stressed leaving the spa than coming in.

Amazing amazing amazing. They fail to disappoint :) This time we had the hot tub before the massage. it was EVEN better. Once again — Eric & Iris did an amaaaazing job.

They’re good. Open late. Probably a 4.5 star establishment. There’s better, but can’t beat it for the price, especially if you have insurance and ESPECIALLY if you speak mandarin and cantonese.

Today me and my girlfriend felt so tired after work we spontaneously said let’s do spa around 9pm and found this hidden place in the area. We walked in and was offered a package foot and body massage for. $ 75 90mins but felt longer like 120 min. Normally other spas cost $ 45 for 45 mins. Dollar per a min. Sound like a deal so we went for it. Tea water and pop was offered. We got a room for 2 ppl also asked if they do bigger party per a room. They did up to 5ppl which is good for special event or a small gathering.
This is my first foot massage I expected a lot of pain. But it wasn’t too bad the lady name Kelly addressed my problems very well.
Place is very nice décor and clean. I do highly recommend this place and do the package deal very worth it!

My boyfriend and I came here today for a couples massage (non rmt type) and we enjoyed it quite a lot. This place is pretty big, they’re able to accommodate a lot of people and the service was great. We saw some people getting pedicures man and women, they seemed to be enjoying themselves a lot. I would come back here, they also have late hours on Sundays which is harder to find in a day spa so that’s a big plus.
Also I’d like to add my appointment was made earlier this morning (same day) and they were very accommodating, which I appreciate.

I was very disappointed with the quality of customer service I received at this spa.
The wait time was ridiculous: I waited over 1.5 hours even though I had prebooked my appointment. There were not enough employees to service me and my two sisters. So
I was standing around while they got their manicures and pedicures.
I had shellac with jewels on my nails, which all came off after 1 day. The technique was poor and she just blobbed shellac on the jewels which was clearly ineffective.
I also received a massage, and the package stated thai, swedish, or deep tissue massage. But when the female started, she didn’t ask me what my preference was and just started the massage. I felt like she had no idea what she was doing and just randomly rubbing without a flow. I felt like it was an inexperienced massage.
At the end, I booked another appt to come back for another package. But when I arrived, they said, very rudely, that I had no appointment and there were no other openings.
So i wasted my time driving to the spa, and they were unaccommodating.
Do not book your treatment here.
The packages are not great and the employees are NOT EXPERIENCED and are RUDE.
The shellac does NOT LAST and the massage was the WORST I have ever experienced.

The service here is great. The spa is really big and beautiful inside. They have probably over 10 staff working here. It is easy to get an appointment and they are always busy. I have come here for the following services:
–Pedicure — It was relaxing and all my dead skin on my feet were removed. They scrub the feet really well.
–Manicure — I got a nice hand treatment and shellac Pink-​a-​boo (see picture below).
–Massage — The masseuses here use a lot of pressure, tuina style. I like a lot of pressure in my massages and I felt very relaxed after this massage.
–Facial — Susanna gave me a facial and helped me remove all my blackheads and whiteheads. She recommended some GM Collins products to use because I was using the wrong products for my skin. It’s been a month and I’ve seen a huge improvement in my skin.
