Best authentic take-out Chinese roast BBQ Duck, Pork, and Chicken in town. Don’t get surprised if it looks a bit run down or the size of this legendary location. After moving here recently to Montréal, I’ve spoke to many old Chinese immigrants about their experiences living in Montréal and asked for their wisdom on the best location for BBQ pork, roast pork and duck and here’s the collectively recommended spot! They sell a full roast duck for $ 20, and I’ve attached the price list for the rest. I came here for take-out Roast Duck and Pork. The duck was extremely juicy, and the fried skin on the pork was super crunchy and tasty! Highly recommend this place and will definitely come back for more.

This review is only for the rotisserie quail and duck wings. We dropped by this place b/c hubby saw duck wings in the window so we had to get some to try them out. The shop is quite small and not very clean. We bought one quail which was $ 2.50/each. It had the traditional chinese BBQ flavor which was well balanced between sweet and salty. We asked for 10 duck wings and the lady gave us 20 which cost about $ 0.40 per wing. The flavor of these wings were LEGIT. Very flavorful. They’re a little small for me, but my hubby was in heaven when he was feasting on these bad boys while drinking a nice cold beer. You definitely have to work for the meat, so be warned. The best way to eat these is to heat them up in a toaster oven/oven then keep them warm while you work on one wing at a time.

For those who enjoy Chinese BBQ meats it’s important to find a place that specializes and has excellent selection. Lam Kee more than satisfies this need! They have a wonderful selection of BBQ duck(of course neck and head on), crispy skin pork, chicken and char siu(chasu) pork. Also there is cuttlefish and other delicacies that are a great compliment to some rice and vegetables. It’s great to clean e get so e meat as the your dinner is much easier to prepare for. For me it’s all about the char siu pork. You can ask for a lean piece and it is crispy while being sweet and tender as well. A great mix for so e dim sum noodles or just to eat with rice or veg. You point to the piece they weigh and price out then and they hack it up into small pieces on a thick wooden board. It’s a symphony of deliciousness hearing the sound of the Chinese meat cleaver hacking it up into small pieces. Price is reasonable and these guys have a good sense of humour joking around with me that some good looking older women customers are his honey! Lol!

This has by far been our best Chinese roast experience in Montréal. The staff were super friendly, and the different types presented are delectable. Most important of all, we found this gem in China town because of its alluring smell. I definitely will go back and highly recommend this place. A must-go for sure.

This is one of the best Chinese roast stuff places in North America I’ve been to. That includes Chinatown NY, Flushing, and places in Toronto. ROASTDUCK: Great always. Consistent. Take home ½ or 1 whole duck for a quick dinner. ROASTCRISPYPORK: Incredible when fresh. Try to get the end near the neck and early in the day. Use the nice sauce. Eat quickly to get the crispiness of the skin. SWEETBARBECUEPORK(Char shu): Very good. Go for the lean if you prefer by pointing. OTHERS: Squid, duck wings, chicken. Not interested.

this place is a hole in the wall type of place and can easily be missed if you are not looking for it. I stumbled here to get dinner on the way home for NYC. the line is long and seems popular as everyone gets food on the go since they have no tables to dine in. they dont consider themselves a restaurant but a grocery. the food is freshly prepared, the meats are nicely roasted. i ordered a slew of chicken, duck, pork, all roasted in various styles and spent about 50USD to feed 5 people. they dont usually have rice but if you ask they can create a rice box for you which i thought was nice of them. the roasted meats are all delicious and i will be sure to come back the next time i’m in montreal!
