Is it weird to visit a pet store on vacation? Whatever, I did. After I got myself some sweet Canadian outerwear, I wanted to find a coat for my dog.
This place had it! Shedrow, a Canadian brand of dog coats is IT. Got a cute coat for my pup, and was tempted by many of their other offerings, but a girl’s suitcase is only so large.
This shop had a great selection of all sorts of pet products, and way nicer outerwear (Duh, it’s Canadian) than anyplace I’ve seen in the US.

By far superior service then any other pet food store in Montréal. The owner is a gem and always goes out of her way to provide you with an excellent experience. Highly recommended.

Great pet store! They have everything. The biggest pet store I’ve seen in Montréal. Variety of great quality food, treats, warm jackets and beds for your four legged friends.

Perfect store. This is the the nicest pet store I’ve seen in Montréal so far. It is well stocked with all sorts of reputable brands of food and supplies. The structure of the store itself is well laid out. Everything is neat and orderly. Very classy store.
I brought my dog Blue in for his first trim today and he was handled with great care and the woman did an amazing job. She is also very chatty (in a good way) and super friendly. I truly like this place and will only be coming here, even if I move to a different neighbourhood.

Great selection of higher-​end pet food (my cat is allergic to chicken, so he has to eat fancy meats like duck or lamb) and super friendly owners. I even got free home delivery after buying more than $ 75 of stuff, which is great because I’d been planning on lugging that 25-​pound bag of fancy cat litter home on foot…

Our new dog groomer of choice, newly opened next to Hof Kelsten on Saint-​Laurent near Mont-​Royal. The proprietor is talkative and friendly; she has a very cute Shiba Inu (like Doge for all you meme-​lovers) who gets free rein in the store. She chatted us up when we popped in off the sidewalk for a look at this very clean, modern new space, and told us about their grooming services. The price was lower than our usual groomer, and after a series of serviceable but only so-​so cuts back there, we jumped at the opportunity to try something new when our dog was due for her next visit.
The proprietor did the grooming herself, and she did an excellent job. Hair as well as a nail trim are included. It took about two hours as promised until our dog was ready for pick-​up. Unlike our previous groomer, Pitou Minou is close to several great cafés to pass the time (notably Café Melbourne). Our dog was always a bit manic when we came to fetch her from the other groomer, but here, she was more herself. Take that for what you will. I wouldn’t like it if someone tried to trim my nails, either. We will become regulars here.
