I have had a real passion for cooking ever since I was a child. I grew up in an Italian family, were amazing food was central to all events.

My name is Matteo Pizzo I’m 28 year old Chef born and raised In Ottawa, Ontario most recently spent the last 2 years living & working in Whistler BC as Chef for WhistlerBlackcomb Ski Resort. I moved to Nanaimo recently, with over 10 years’ experience in the culinary industry.

I’m a creative, enthusiastic, hardworking chef with a passion for food with extensive

experience working in busy hospitality establishments such as fine dining restaurants, hotels,

golf courses, NHL hockey team, number one ski resort in North America and catering for

weddings and special events. My professional experience and culinary training in cuisines

including, French, Italian, North-​American, West coast, and East coast cuisine has made me

a well-​rounded Chef equipped to take on any challenge.

I am extremely skilled at putting my own stamp on traditional dishes and creating new

combinations and love experimenting with new flavors while being careful not to compromise

the freshness and originali
