Had breakfast here on our way to Osoyoos. Canadian Omlette was great! Good coffee. The staff could do with smiling a bit more

A quaint little café on the corner. don’t let the exterior dissuade you — the interior is cute and welcoming. The food all seems to be fresh and local and The bright orange yolks of the eggs are telling of this. The customer service doesn’t lack — a great breakfast joint open 7 days a week(a welcome point for tourists in a town where many places are closed Sunday’s)

I LOVE this place’s eggs benedict varieties. I’ll say that upfront. The waitresses are happy and kind, and the menu options are wonderful! But(sigh) the waitresses are a lil on the forgetful side(as in when you’re ready to pay your bill, they might be polishing the silverware instead for a looong time). And unfortunately, as you’ll find is common in Nelson if you live here, the fruit flies can get a bit annoying. They aren’t overwhelming, but for some, one is enough(and there’s more than one here). I haven’t noticed them in other restaurants, just in peoples’ homes here in town in the summer and at this restaurant. I have no doubt that they are a clean establishment, you just know it’s a bit much when you’re wishing they hadn’t brought you that finely twisted orange slice as an accompaniment to your dish. That being said, the Nanny’s Benny(I’d skip the caramelized onion on the top; that flavor didn’t meld well for me) and the Veggie Hash are both amazing and filled with flavor. I would skip on the Grilled Cinnamon Roll — as much as I wanted this to be amazing(such a cool idea), it actually was dry. I love that you can get half orders on many of the breakfasts, too! It’s enough for me(surprisingly, because I can pack it in). I won’t give up on this place because of fruit flies — I’ll just stick to it in the winter when the the temps keep them manageable.

9 months later and I have returned to this nice little café in quirky Nelson, BC. Service this time was better. I was prompted to sit wherever I liked as I walked in and was approached by a waitress shortly after. The fact that it was 5 minutes to 1pm might have had something to do with it. The place was nearly empty. Much of what I remembered about this place remained the same. The entrance was still located inside a «mall» and the place still had nice albeit amateur looking paintings hanging on the wall. I ordered the new Paris omelette(ham, caramelized onions, goat cheese and basil topped with Hollandaise sauce) as suggested by another Unilocal review. It came within 10 minutes and at first glance I have to say I was not impressed. The egg looked like an egg patty folded in half. My taste buds however told me what was what. The sweetness of the onions really went well with the tanginess of the cheese which I suspect was cut with cream cheese. The Hollandaise was as I remembered thick and rich. It also came with potato hash and toast which was nothing to write home about. Service-wise, there is still room for improvement. I got the impressions that the servers didn’t really care about me at first. They took my order, brought me my food and then stayed away. This was redeemed however as one server did ask me how my food was but I did have to tell her to refill my water. I think more attention to detail would have put this place over the top in my heart. Would I come back again? The answer is still yes. The food was good, prices were reasonable and there are still so many options left for me to try.

Great little breakfast place in Nelson, with a slightly different – and delicious – take on french toast. I enjoyed my coffee while people-watching by the window. Bonus: it’s also vegetarian– and vegan-friendly!

First off, I have to say the food at the Full Circle Café was great. The food was tasty and hot. The service was great, they were always ready to refill our coffee and wait on us. Normally, I would give a place like this a 3 ½ — 4 star rating, but after trying a few other places in Nelson, I decided to give it 5 stars. Compared to the other dining options in Nelson this place really shines. It’s too bad that it was the last place we dined on our 4 day trip. We will definitely be eating here again!

Great breakfast… also great that it’s open early. Most of the full on breakfast places are closed at 8am. We had two kinds of Benedict, the salmon one and another one that wasn’t quite as good. Still good, but the salmon Benedict was awesome. Friendly staff.

Came here for breakfast after this place was highly recommended by the attendant at my motel. Was not terribly busy at 8AM on a Saturday. Service was friendly and prompt. Restaurant does not have wifi… not a big deal, but seems not to match upscale cafes in 2013. I had their«New Paris» omelette, prepared at my request as a scramble, it included ham, goat cheese, caramelized onion, basil, and hollandaise sauce. It was delicious. Unfortunately, I have to ding them with a demerit for charging an extra $ 0.75 for substituting Kootenay Spelt bread(a local bakery’s bread) for regular white or wheat… they give you 2 slices and honestly it’s nothing special. This is an «upscale» café… if this really is a more high-end bread, they should just include it by default(and even just quietly increase the price of the entrée a touch to include it). Having the up-charge for«nothing special» bread just seemed«nickel-and-dimey» to me.

Delicious benny’s! Nanny Benny and a Taste of South Benny were both excellent. Servers were very friendly, the coffee was amazing, and the food was hot, fresh, and tasty. Prices were fair. All in all, I could become a regular here.

From the multiple positive reviews, I was looking forward to this breakfast and they didnt disappoint… kinda. The highs are great, but enough little mistakes to knock my rating from 4 to 3.5. First, let it be said that this place is small, unassuming with portraits of local art everywhere. Its décor is simple, but as their focus and vibe seems to be more new age slanted, it really doesnt need to. Next, the menu is quite interesting, especially their options for the veggie and health crowd which makes great sense being in the hippie core of Canada. Now I had the Kick Hash, a great mix of free range omega 3 eggs, red potatoes and buffalo sausage with a hollandaise sauce. The heat of the sausage did give the dish a nice little«kick» that elevated the flavourful eggs to a new level. I enjoyed it throughly, though the odd dark rye bread it came with was actually bitter, throwing off the final bites unpleasantly. I had to smother raspberry jam and eat slices of orange to get rid of that taste. My partner had these quite well made shrimp and crab cakes that had very little filler(awesome) with 2 free range omega 3 eggs. The cakes were simply great, and the chipotle hollandaise paired with it was equally good. However, her own red potatos were a bit tough and under done. My visiting parents had some simple bennies and a scrambled eggs with smoked salmon mix. The salmon was nice, but far far too salty under most measures and just overwhelmed the taste of the eggs. The guacamole that came with it was equally over salted and tasted heavily of vinegar as opposed to a refreshing lime taste. Also, avoid the hot sauce on the tables at all cost. Not hot at all(at least for me), but instead was not much better than pure vinegar with some red tinge. I still cant get that aftertaste double blow of the guacamole and the hot sauce out of my mouth(and I barely had much of either since I just wanted it for taste) after a bottle of water. Service was a little slow but they were trying their best though as the place was busy after all. So overall, it was a good breakfast and a place id revisit. Buuut there were enough surprises to throw my vote down.

I used to eat here quite frequently. The food is good but the service isn’t. The second you finish eating the bum-rush starts. This place is also notorious for hiring waitresses with attitude.

I was blown away by my breakfast! I had the most amazing Smoked Salmon Egg Scramble and savored every bite. I also really enjoyed the potatoes. They were not exactly chunky, but thicker than thinly sliced and they had seasoning and chives. So good! I was also impressed by their mocha. I tried my spouse’s Canadian Special Omelet and it too was flavorful and delicious. He had home-made chocolate milk but I didn’t try it. I was a bit baffled by the wait, but after I ate, it made sense to me as to why it was such a busy place. It’s small, kinda cozy and decorated with lovely local artisan paintings, but doesn’t have a restroom, so you have to use the public washroom in the mall, which is not the greatest. Whatever. I love the street view from the café as it’s all windows along Baker Street. I was fat and happy when I left. If you’re in Nelson, you must eat here!

I live in Nelson and this is one of my favourites. Whether you’re there for breakfast or lunch, it’s always great. They take ordinary favourites and make them extraordinary. They have an incredible grilled cheese sandwich. Their specials are unique and tasty. Usually a bit of a wait but worth it.

Classic Downtown Dinner, very pleasant wait staff and fast for a busy little dinner on the corner. I had an omelette cheese/ham/tomato the daily special with sour dough and pan fries. Everything had good taste but very small portions. My GF had the Kick Hash noting a previous reviewers comments. She really enjoyed the flavor however she fished it a still wanted more. She never fishes a meal it was very small as well for the cost. If you are looking for a diner experience watching Nelson’s downtown wake up this place has it. Order lots if you are hungry.
