Go 4 Greek

Whoa, portion sizes are huge and delicious! A souvlaki platter got me three large containers of food: a huge chicken souvlaki, a large Greek salad, and at least 1.5 pounds of rice and potatoes. Took about 10 minutes for it to be ready. 4 stars for the awesome souvlaki, 3 stars for the mediocre rice and potatoes (salty, flavourless, and seemed to be microwaved). About $ 15 for this huge quantity of food.

You have to kidding. The best? If you want take out go to Cozmos.(a short drive up Greenbank). If you want a really good sit down meal it’s Penelopis. They’re both way better.

Some of the best Greek food you’re going to find in the $ 15 per person price range. It is mainly a take-​out restaurant, but there are a few small tables if you want to sit and eat in. I usually order the summer special for 2 which, despite it’s name, is available year round. It comes with a shareable Greek salad, 2 pita bread, grilled chicken kebabs, rice, potatoes and tzatziki. The salad is super fresh and I appreciate that it comes with plenty of vegetables and a salty feta. The chicken is good but can sometimes be too charred. I put the tzatziki on everything. It brings the rice and potatoes to the next level. The helpings of everything are generous and we often have leftovers. This is my favourite restaurant in Barrhaven and I will be back.

Mmmm I love Greek. This one was made perfect. The chicken was well spiced the tadziki was so nice and thick. Flavours were fantastic and exactly what you want Greek to be. Very small. So best for pick up. As all Greek places are it is a bit pricey. But so worth it since you will never finish what they give you. So going back!

Came here for a fast lunch, craving some Greek food and loved it! The portions here are really big for the price, although a little higher than most takeout places. Nevertheless, the food is delicious! Their seasoned rice, potatoes and pita are very fresh and flavorful and not dry at all, well worth the price. The salad also comes in a big portion, thoroughly dressed.
They have lots of affordable options from their lunch menu, as well as combo deals for different weekdays. Overall a great option for takeout and quick Greek meal!

I can get lamb for takeout! I love the lamb souvlaki here. We get the dinner for two which comes with two souvlaki kabos, rice, potatoes, salad, bread, appetizer and desert.
If you are going to do takeout, get this.

Food is high quality and prepared fresh. Portions are good, salads may be a bit too big so try sharing one. I was told the meat is local, ie not imported, but I’m not sure if this is still the case. Either way the prices are a bit high for a takeout. In other cities these prices would get you full dine in service. If they offered more cost effective specials without dropping the quality it could be 4 or 5 star!

This is by far my favorite Greek take out place in Ottawa. Actually, it’s the best Greek food I’ve had in Ottawa as it seems a lot of the Greek restaurants have closed down over the years.
LOCATION
Go 4 Greek is located in a strip mall on Standherd. Parking shouldn’t be an issue.
SEATING
There are a few tables inside if you want to sit and it but primarily it is a take-​out restaurant.
FOOD
The reason I like Go 4 Greek over the other fast food Greek restaurants (Greek on Wheels, Cozmos, Yorgo’s, etc.) is primarily a fresher taste, large portions and generally better ingredients (i.e. less reliance on lettuce to fill the portions).
I tend to stay with the salads (I like their village salad a lot), low carb chicken dish, and their pitas.
VALUE
I have to say you get quite good value for your money, especially with some dishes. The salads, for example, often come in two sizes and the price difference is negligible and the large is good enough for 2 – 3 people.

While it may be a takeout restaurant, I haven’t found any place in the west end yet, takeout or sit down, that is better then Go 4 Greek and I’ve tried many. Definitely recommended.

Good food and service. Prices on par with other Greek takeouts.
