WARNING! The ABM ate my card. The machine did NOT give it back, and after the fact, the machine also did NOT warn that it was out of order! BEWARE CUSTOMERS!
When I called the CIBC hotline (that is on the ABM), the customer service representative was incredibly rude! She did not reassure me that I could access my account or that I could get a card. She told me in a scowling voice that my card would be DESTROYED! I asked what other way there was, and she said that the bank destroys cards because it would not be able to verify that it was I who owned the card!
When I asked her how does that work, she said WITHOUT any sincerity or emotion, «I’m sorry you feel that way.»
I guess I should have hung up and called again to get another representative who was polite.
So I asked a guy who walked into the ABM room if it happened to him, and he said his card also had gotten eaten. He said he went back the next morning to get a new one. I got better advice from a fellow customer than CIBC’s own customer service!
In addition, it is apparent how often CIBC ABMs eat cards!!!
Overall a very horrid experience! Customers beware!
