Food Cents

My friends, neighbours and I only shop here when we need need a quick meal, snacks or the odd household item (e.g. Cleaning supplies, candles, scissors, etc.) The deli, itself, has never looked inviting and I think I have seen someone actually work in that section all of ONE TIME lol. Let’s just say it gets lonely in that area and any1 with a functioning brain would realize they must go elsewhere to purchase decent & affordable meats & deli. Produce is not bad (apparently Tuesday is the best day to purchase produce and avocados, in particular). Overall, I don’t recommend doing all your groceries here unless money is not an issue for you. Everything is pretty much overpriced but still moderately affordable for the average working man.
The Goods:
–Friendly, attentive service EVERY TIME
–Plenty of options for the hummus lover
–Assorted candy for the sweet-​toothed
–Soy/​Almond milk for the health-​wise
–Deals on frozen food entrées for the… kitchen-​illiterate or uninspired… or just lazy (me)
–Ethnic foods & beverages, yay! Like Tiger Malt & the Royalty brand of Ginger Beer they just started stocking. It’s REALLY good especially for being in a can. Cuz i mostly don’t trust anything that comes from a can anymore («trust issuueess»)
–all the pop and chips you could want and some cheap brands for the starving students among us
–great assortment of baked goods
–and lastly, juice juice juice everywhere! Thick, watered down, coconut, Mango, cheap tall cans of Arizona iced tea…
If you’re in the hood, come check out the ‘sketchmart’ for yourself. I suggest you bring your own bags because theirs tear easily and they’re really adamant about charging u for each bag so «damn the man!» and bring your own!

This grocery store is convenient when you need something but otherwise I would avoid. Food is overpriced and not reliable to have what you need. It has improved quite a bit in the last 2 years which is great. Staff are friendly. Produce is reasonably priced, but dry goods are costly.
