Its hard to work out with the constant smell of delicious oven roasted chicken and potato fries wafting in.
Pro:
–You can enter the fitness class rooms directly from the change room since the entire gym is women only.
Cons (Almost everything else):
–One squat rack one bench
–a third of the floor is roped off for personal training only. Considering how small the gym is to start with, this was actually a huge annoyance. Whatever, I used those machines anyways.
I don’t know what they thing «women» want but I found it really hard to plan a workout with what was available here. I couldn’t even do a cardio day here since the food smell made it impossible to stay motivated to keep running.

I tried this gym a few months ago and was unimpressed. During the classes, the fitness instructors do not walk around and correct anyone’s form. They just stay on the platform and do their own thing. I’m used to instructors who are interactive and this was definitely a negative for me.
I also wasn’t a fan of their hours. I found they didn’t open early enough and close late enough.
The gym is also missing a lot of machines (row machine and others) that you would find in your typical gym. This restricted me from doing my typical workouts so I cancelled my membership within the 10 day Grace period.

I came here as a student with a part time job looking for a membership. It was expensive, even when they said they’d lower it for me. I felt I seriously needed this to help improve my health. So I got myself tied into a contract. Being a first timer to a gym I didn’t understand what I was getting myself into. The fitness instructor head on starts you on a fitness assessment then does this whole spiel about how I should consider taking on a personal trainer to achieve my weight loss goals faster. They had me sign a contract, and I didn’t think through it well enough. I learned my lesson. Never sign anything on the spot; always ask to take it home to consider for a while.
When I lost my job I realized that I couldn’t afford to be on a gym membership at Goodlife. Firstly, my personal trainer went MIA on me and never followed up with after the first 2 sessions. I called her several times, and she missed all of my scheduled sessions with her. I asked the manager about cancelling my contract with the personal trainer. First they said I’d have to talk to the trainer who signed me up on the contract. Then I tried asking them to get her to come and talk to me about it. They always said she was not there. I came several times to find her. One time I saw her exercising away at the treadmill, that really made me upset about how much they actually care about their clients.
The management/​staff customer service is appalling. They gave me dirty looks whenever I came to try and end my contract. They were also reluctant to actually do something to help my situation after explaining it to them. Finally the trainer decided to grace her presence with me and told me to go contact head office to cancel it because she has no power to do so. I swear the staff are so useless when it comes to needing real service. After that I decided to fully end ties with Goodlife fitness by getting rid of both my contracts (membership and personal training). The process was painful and long and getting my contract to end was the hardest part of it all since their headquarters go through many levels of CSRs answering your plea. In the end I got my contracts to end and even got a refund for the poor service I received at Goodlife Fitness Clubs. At least one thing good came out of this experience.
The one thing about Goodlife Fitness I will miss is their weekly scheduled group classes, which are only offered for free to members/​memberships. The class instructors are patient and help the learning curve smooth out for beginners like me. The people you meet in these classes are also super nice and they help you out if you’re new to everything. Other than this however, I will not miss Goodlife Fitness; everything they stand for is a sham. In my eyes they just want your money without giving you the proper customer service.

So I thought I would give this place a trial run since it is a women’s only location and I have never been to a women’s only fitness club…
I don’t think it really matters who you are in the gym with, so no big difference for me, isn’t like I stare at the people next to me and hope they don’t do the same to me.
There is alot of things going on at this gym, from different classes every night to different instructors, always something different to do and try!
The service is fairly well, everyone seemed friendly enough, not that I could really tell anyway from those fake smiles but…
The good thing is the no contract, so are you free to do as you may .
For the most part it is a quiet place but with limited hours as it closes when the Superstore does since its located into the store, which is open until 11PM I believe
Personally I think I will stick with my regular gym, nothing above and beyond here to be found.

I had a membership at this location for just over a year and loved it.
Pros:
1. Women’s Only location = NO MEN = get your sweat on and don’t care. Plus everyone generally leaves you alone to do your thing, although you’ll get the odd girl who will take the machine beside you and make sure she watches your speed and calorie burn very intently. Pretty sure this happens at every gym.
2. Great class schedule. Different classes each night with different instructors. DON’T be too intimidated to try the classes like I was. There are many different levels of fitness in each class, and the instructors are very good at being motivating, but making sure everyone can keep up. In all honesty, I found myself to be at a higher level than most participants in terms of fitness and never had trouble with keeping up, and I am definitely not a gym rat by any means.
3. Pretty good service — the girls who worked there were usually very nice and accomodating, although I did notice a fairly high turnover rate in hte staff. But I hear Goodlife likes to promote it’s staff, and this is a norm across all Goodlifes.
4. No contract. If you want to put your account on hold while you’re on vacation to leave at any time, you are able. I had no problem putting my account on hold on two different occasions when I was out of the country, and once when I was in school and had no income, they allowed me to suspend my membership until I was able to pick up a part time job.
5. Never overly busy — always machines available and lots of space.
Cons:
1. In a supercentre, so the hours are dependant on the hours of the grocery store. Kind of limited.
2. Classes on the weekend are in the morning only. Tough on sleep lovers like me.
3. Different prices for different members. I was told there was 1 price that was non-​negotiable when I joined — but when I cancelled my membership as I’m moving downtown and not sure on my income with my new job, I was quickly offered 50% off — by the receptionist. No joke. If she has that kind of power, what kind of discounts are available? And what are others paying? Made me feel like they had been ripping me off for months.
My advice is join this great location, but see what kind of discounts, if any, you can get. Don’t blindly acceot the $ 25 bi weekly payment like I did.
