Historique

Fondé en 1983.

Marble Slab Creamery was founded in Houston by chefs Penn and LaPage in 1983. They were inspired by Herrell’s Ice Cream in Boston, who pioneered the mix-​in approach to ice cream toppings. In 1986, Marble Slab became the first premium ice cream shop to use a frozen slab for blending gourmet ingredients into ice cream. In the past few years, Marble Slab has expanded beyond its southeastern presence and has become a fast-​growing franchise.

Marble Slab opened its first Canadian store in Calgary, AB in August 2003. The Lakeshore location in Oakville, ON was opened in summer of 2008 by the Lang family. In May 2013, the current owner, Igor Lukac, purchased the business. Today, there are over 50 Marble Slab stores in Canada, with over 500 across the United States, Puerto Rico, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Lebanon, Kuwait, the United Kingdom & Singapore! We are proud to be a part of the Oakville community and Marble Slab family, and look forward to many years of continued success!

As new owner and longtime Marble Slab Creamery supporter, Igor long dreamed of acquiring the downtown Oakville location. His passion project finally came to fruition with the purchase of Marble Slab in May of 2013. The entire Marble Slab staff strives to create a friendly and happy environment where everyone is welcome and feels at home. With a great love for ice cream and the entire Oakville community, Igor seeks to offer not only top quality treats, but also a perfect customer experience for every visitor. As the store celebrates its five year anniversary, Igor will be at this location regularly to ensure that we continue to offer the great customer service we are known for.
