The best food!!! Very flavourful!!! We came from out of the city and were looking for something to eat and came across this place. The rice, the kebabs, the fresh bread!

Pita Bell has very average food. Prices are cheap and the quality reflects that. It tastes good and is somewhat fresh, but for a far better meal I would recommend going to one of Ottawa’s many shawarma joints instead.

Was heading home looking for a takeout place and just turned in to this place. What a find so close to home! I only tried one item from the menu as I took it to go. The Kebab dish with the Adana(Spicy) skewers were awesome !!! For the first time, I got something SPICY when they say it is spicy! The set meal comes with Salad, mixed rice, 2 skewers, pita bread, humus and garlic sauce. Must say a very satisfied customer :) . Excellent find for me as it is very close to home and they deliver free as well.

Went for lunch with a mate and was not disappointed. Service was a little slower than you would anticipate for this kind of establishment(its a mix between fast food/takeout/sit down place), but the staff was very apologetic(unnecessarily so) and very friendly. I would go back based on their effort alone — you can tell they are trying very hard to ensure everyone is more than satisfied. You could tell the recent review in the Ottawa Citizen has them busier than expected. I ordered the Spicy Kabab pita combo(comes with fries and garlic sauce and a drink). It was great, and larger than expected. Not too spicy, but enough kick to make it interesting. It’s topped with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles/turnips, and garlic sauce. My companion ordered the beef pita pie — it’s truly huge — but he said it was very good. You can tell they use a real charcoal grill. For a weekday lunch, if you have ~15 mins or so, it’s fantastic. For the sake of all those you encounter later in the day, bring some gum/toothpaste for afterwards. I will come back again soon.

I went here with my dad today for lunch. My dad loves kababs so when I found out that this place near me just opened, I had to take him there. We both really enjoyed it. He had the Adana Kabab Plate($ 11.95) and I got the Shish Taouk Sandwich Combo($ 9.95). His plate came with 2 spicy ground meat kababs, salad, rice, hummus and a grilled pita. Mine came with a Shish Taouk sandwich, fries and a can of pop. My Shish Taouk Sandwich was great. The meat was chicken breast chunks and perfectly seasoned. It had a smoked flavour to it that I loved. They also put lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, pickled beets and a creamy sauce in the wrap. They grilled the wrap so it was hot and slightly crunchy on the outside. My fries were amazing. They were definitely fresh cut and not from frozen. They have the skins on and they were really crispy. There was seasonings sprinkled on the fries too! I had some of my dad’s meal and while I liked it, I liked what I ordered better. His kababs were a little too salty for my liking. The rice was nice though. The rice is long grain rice with warm spices(smelled and tasted like it contained cinnamon, nutmeg and/or allspice). The salad was made of fresh ingredients. It was romaine lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, and red onions. There was a little pile of pickles on the side which my dad loved. We asked for the house salad dressing which we were told was made in-house. It was creamy and quite good. My dad’s plate came with some pita bread on the side. This pita bread was different from the pita bread that was used for my sandwich though(the one for my sandwich tasted like the usual commercially prepared pita bread). This pita bread with my dad’s meal was freshly made and more doughy. It was like a cross between a pita and naan. Both my dad and I thought it had a bit of a sour taste to it though. The slightly sour taste was not to my liking. However it was fluffy and soft and had a good texture. I was told the hummus is made in-house as well. The hummus was good — nice and garlicky. The staff there were very nice. They answered my questions about the menu items and even came and asked us how the food was part way through(it’s not really a sit down restaurant, more like a fast food place, like the typical shawarma joints, so it was nice that they checked up on us). They thanked us for our business and encouraged use to visit their Facebook page where they apparently announce specials that they have. The place is new and very clean — including the washrooms. It’s in a strip mall on Carling Ave. across the street from the Product Depot. There’s some free parking but not too many spots. Oh and the meat here is halal. I like this place. I will be back.

A buddy of mine who lives near by took me to the new restaurant in his ‘hood. Just opened Aug 2015 this little gem is awesome for a great middle eastern dishes. Food is fresh and excellent, portions are great for the price and even the décor feels great. Service is warm and efficient. You are not gonna regret coming here.
