Ok, I’m bumping these guys up to 2.5 stars, but Unilocal doesn’t allow half stars and since I’m feeling generous I’ll bump it up to 3. I came back recently for dinner after a matinée at Centrepointe Theatre(out of convenience since it’s just across the parking lot). I had the Warm Goat Cheese and Walnut Salad $ 15 and added grilled chicken to it(additional $ 3). The salad started out pretty good, but I was disappointed to discover that underneath the thin layer of mixed greens was mostly iceberg lettuce. Really? For $ 18 I expected a true spring mix/mesclun mix. Other than that, I liked the other ingredients in the salad. It came with a panko crusted and deep fried goat cheese ball. The outside was crunchy and the inside was soft and creamy. The chicken was nicely grilled and had good flavour. The walnuts were plentiful and weren’t rancid. All ingredients tasted fresh. My husband had the Thai Chicken Salad $ 15 and it too suffered from the pile of iceberg at the bottom issue. My father-in-law had the London Dip sandwich. The sandwich looked like it was full of beef and the fries looked crispy. He enjoyed his meal and even took home the leftovers(which he rarely does). Service was competent and friendly enough. The only time I go here is before or after a show at Centrepointe Theatre if we are taking my father-in-law. It’s very convenient as it’s across the parking lot, and we don’t have to worry about taking 2 cars to another location. If it’s just my husband and I going to a show, we will eat elsewhere.

Went there with our two grandkids for lunch before taking them to the Centerpoint theatre December 22nd. My wife and I had coffee and ordered a kids meal for 14.99 although it wasn’t called a kids meal but it was three chicken nuggets and fries. Got the feeling we were not spending enough to warrant good service. We had an hour to kill and that’s about what it took to order, get it served and pay. It was not hard to tell we were on the back burners. The staff was friendly, the service was not, the kids ate their meal. We were not asked if we needed a coffee top up. Was not offered water. Had to wait 15 minutes to get an xtra empty plate after asking a second time. We went there because it was convenient but will think twice before going again. The food is pricey for what you get compared to similar eateries.

Great game night food! Wings, nachos, and beer! A bunch of us went to the Oak last night after our dodgeball game. Service was decent, wings and nachos were pretty good. It was a quiet night, but there were a couple of big groups there… I’ll probably be back next Tuesday…

I made a reservation for Friday at noon for 3. We were seated promptly, the server came and asked what we’d like to drink and brought them right away, but then we sat there for 12 – 15 minutes watching her take orders from a large table that had been seated after us. My sister only has between 12 – 1 for lunch(typical for that locale), and we were getting anxious. She took our orders, chicken Cesar salad, quesadilla and fish and chips. The chicken on the salad looked pre-cooked, fake grill marks and there wasn’t more than a scant 2 ounces. My fish was great and ny sister’s quesadilla was good. Service was adequate, nothing remarkable. There was a cold draft where we were seated near the double doors which forced us to keep our jackets around our shoulders. This was our first time there, we might try it again…
