Historique
Fondé en 2008.
The first Super 8 opened its doors in October 1974 in Aberdeen, South Dakota. At that time the cost of one night’s stay was $ 8.88 U.S. Seven years later, the franchise took up permanent residence in Canada, when the first Canadian Super 8 opened in Saskatchewan
The Super 8 promise has always been the same: «To give guests what they need for a comfortable stay, treat them like we’d like to be treated, and do it all for a reasonable price.»

Manager
Ken Kirkby, a 23-year hotel and resort-industry veteran, presides as general manager of Super 8 Peterborough. Ken was part of the opening team with the property in May 2008.
Prior to joining Super 8 Peterborough, Kirkby spent three years as Front Office Manager and Guest Arrivals Manager at the four-diamond, 236-room Victoria Marriott Inner Harbour, and a perennial award winner. Ken’s hotel and resort industry career began in 1989 when he joined the Ambassador Hotel and Resort in Kingston, Ontario and worked in a number of capacities. In 1999, he was appointed opening Rooms Division Manager at the new 171 room Four Points by Sheraton Hotel & Suites in Kingston, ON, before transferring to Toronto in the role of General Manager with the opening of the new Four Points by Sheraton Toronto Airport West.
Ken is a current Board of Directors member of the Peterborough Destination Association and Regional Tourism Organization 8 (RTO8), both not-for-profit organizations charged with the task
