Well, I had a chance to stop the Island this long weekend. My friends parents love to play host and the Island is the best place to escape, especially when you want to be left alone.
A brief trip to «downtown» Qualicum Beach and she took me to Tosh (aka The Old School House) that holds several galleries. My companion mentioned the artist Joan Larson. Larson is quiet well know for her Musical Ride paintings of the RCMP. If you love horses then you MUST see her work. The beauty and structure that is given to each one of her her subjects in their painting is really stunning.
Being more of a landscape type than a horse type, I ended up leaving with a very small picture of the sun setting over what is most likely a British Colombian lake. I cannot wait to find the «perfect spot» for it in my new apartment! Quailcum the cutest spot in the Island!
