Certified groomer for both dogs and cats. Full service animal hospital providing medicine, dentistry, surgery & ultrasound. Parasite prevention & treatment, proudly serving the Richmond Hill community since 1990. Adoption centre. We treat exotics including rabbits & reptiles. We welcome pocket pets including guinea pigs & hamsters. New clients always welcome. Pet foods, nutritional guidance & weight loss program. Pet selection advice. Separate boarding facilities for dogs and cats, emphasis on preventive medicine. Securely fenced outdoor exercise yard. Full time animal care attendant children’s play area, multilingual practice in hospital care provided by registered veterinary technicians. We are now open 7 days a week until 10 pm with no extra fees and there is a veterinarian on duty at all times.

Historique

Fondé en 1990.

In 1990, Dr. Sherkey opened Bayview Hill Animal Hospital, a small clinic with one consulting room, and one other employee, his wife Evelyn! His reputation for compassionate care and excellent medicine spread and the clinic blossomed, eventually outgrowing its humble beginnings. Bayview Hill Animal Hospital was re-​located just up the street to its current location in 2001, where it now houses three veterinarians and 12 staff members!

After graduating from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science degree, Dr. Sherkey obtained his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1977 from the University of Guelph’s Ontario Veterinary College.

After graduation he opened his first veterinary practice in Scarborough, Ontario in 1978, where he practiced for 11 years before deciding to move his family to Richmond Hill.

Dr. Sherkey’s areas of interests include canine and feline medicine, geriatric care and pain management. In his free time he enjoys photography, golf and spending time with his loving family. For Dr. Sherkey, veterinary medicine is not just a career choice but a passion, and he loves going to work and helping pets.
