I agree with the earlier posts — this place is all about maximizing their profit. Never have I been asked so many questions about my insurance. And yes they are great wit help regarding filing the claim even providing the stamp. But where they fall down is on providing the assistance necessary to adapt to CPAP. Taking parts out I did not see but after trying on a mask I watched the nurse wipe it off with a little wipe and rebag it for the next person to use in their trial. Sleep apnea is a serious issue so run from this place. If your doctor recommends it get a new doctor. He/she is likely recommending it because they are getting a cut or kickback or have an ownership interest in this company. And it is a company not a clinic.

My doctor recommended that I come to this clinic to purchase my CPAP machine and masks, but what I found is that they severely overcharge for their services. In comparison to even Shopper Drug Mart(which is expensive), their prices are 10 — 20% more. Not only that, they added a maintenance plan to the CPAP machine I bought and charged extra for it. At the time, I did not realize such a plan was unnecessary … as these machines are very reliable and the manual documents all the necessary steps to clean and maintain the machine. Another thing that irked me is when they sell you a mask, CPAP Direct opens and confiscates parts — i.e. if they believe a small nasal pillow is what you should wear, they take and keep the medium and large pillows. Sometimes it is very hard to judge the comfort of the mask size/pillow size in store and CPAP Direct should really give all the parts to the user so that they can try them on at home. I recently found a better CPAP clinic in Vaughan and their prices are almost 40% less than CPAP Direct. Yes, insurance covers the cost of my machine and semi-annual mask replacements, but nevertheless I’m still conscious of getting fair value and fair service. The staff at the clinic is a tad unprofessional, acting as if they’re in high school(gossiping, behavior, etc.) rather than a medical clinic. Overall, look around, just like eyewear you can buy CPAP hardware from any legitimate vendor… there is no need to stick to one place because your doctor referred you. I’m much happier now that I’ve moved onto my new clinic.
