Framar Salon

Thanks to Richard for giving me a new style. I came in with long hair which needed a cut and layers as it was getting unmanageable. The head massage and wash were so relaxing I almost fell asleep as he was working away. He talked to me about ways I could style my hair myself and then he finished the job with a big roller brush and his blow dryer. He also explained about the product he used/​Aveda which is available at the salon. Thanks for the awesome «do» Richard!

Came to this salon yesterday after reading all the good reviews, so I decided to make an appointment. I booked with the so called «amazing“Richard Papa after reading many good reviews about him. I get there and I begin to show him pictures and explain what I want, I was very specific and he seemed confident he could do the job. Now I have really bad eye vision and I wear glasses, but when I get a haircut I have to take them off leaving everything blurry for me. So anyways I see Richard snipping away and I even ask him in the middle of my session if that’s the correct length, he guaranteed me not to worry about it and continued. So after he was done I put on my glasses and I almost cried, my hair was so short and I looked so odd– I wanted the top to be long in order to style it any way I want and the back and sides layered, now i have nothing to work with on the top because it’s really short! I grew out my hair for four months to get the style I wanted, now I have to grow it out AGAIN! I’m so disappointed and i definitely won’t be coming back. Waste of my money and time, if I wanted a short basic haircut i could’ve went to magic cuts or some cheap place for 12 – 14 dollars.

Exceptional service and extremely personable staff!!! Richard has been cutting my hair for 5 years and I couldn’t imagine anyone else trimming my tresses. From the yummy Aveda products to the clean, attractive décor– Framar is a wonderful salon.

I am sorry to hear about Kerry L’s experience at Framar. I feel compelled to respond after reading the accusation that the other reviews are not legitimate.
Angelo has been my hair stylist for 16 years and has done a superb job every time. I am always complimented on my hair cut after each visit. He has always been professional and courteous. I cannot imagine him laughing at a client.

LOVE this place! As a fiend for the Aveda line of products, I’m happy that I can stop by a salon quite close to home and pick up the products I need, instead of having to travel downtown or to the Promenade. I have done wash/​cut/​blowdry at Framar before and it’s amazing how well they maintain the shape of my hair while only trimming off the split ends.

HISTORY/​ABOUT: The Framar Salon is an award winning salon which opened up its doors in Richmond Hill back in 2004. Essentially in my parents backyard I am so disappointed it took me up until now, on the brink of 2013, to finally try them out.
DÉCOR/​AMBIENCE: Clean, open concept, high ceiling, spacious and bright.
PRICE LIST DESIGN/​READABILITY: Clear and concise.
QUALITY: Some people can cut hair, and some people can not… Richard Papa was born to cut hair. Very personable and extremely talented, he made my hair cut experience an exceptional one. From the head massage, to the hair cut to the shave and style, it was all extremely professional and extremely well done. You can tell he has been perfecting this craft for a very long time, he certainly deserves his own salon.
I will do my very best to get my hair cut from Richard going forward (his days off are Sun & Tues).
PRICE POINT: A hair cut with him (senior stylist) costs $ 36.00 which I am quite pleased to pay considering downtown Toronto a decent men’s hair cut starts at $ 40 – 50.
SERVICE: Exceptional — no need to elaborate.
BATHROOMS: did not use.
FINAL THOUGHTS: A phenomenal experience. I look forward to my next cut!

I had my first Framar Salon experience about 3 months ago and my hair still looks healthy even as its grown out and taken 12 weeks of abuse from sun and travelling in Australia. My hair is difficult to cut because it is long, fine, and curly, but Christina did an unbelievable job cutting my hair in a style that was both flattering for my specific hair type and easy to maintain with minimal heat or product. I will definitely return to Framar for my next hair cut, and would be interested to see how they are with colouring as well.
