Brighter Mechanical

Brighter has a lot of good people working for them and they do the best they are able. But a lot of the guys are teenagers or early twenties that do the main changing of pipes and wall cutting. They were tiles cracked that worker tried to deny he did but before pics showed it wasn’t. Wooded toilet roll attached to drawer got broken. But main thing is my pipes making ticking sounds every time I turn on and off bathroom taps, even hear the neighbours taps when mine aren’t on. Never in my 11 years here did I hear any noises before. When I mentioned it to foreman he said nothing they could do. Huh!
Thing is not everyone in the building has this happen to them. Only a select few. So tell me how is that possible when the others didn’t have to put up with that. Not too happy about some of the workers. But the older ones were more professional and helpful.

Forgot about these guys until I saw another review. They fixed an issue in an apartment my roommate and I lived in years ago, looks like they still suck.
We came home to our coffee table moved and a glass of red wine we’d left on it dumped on the carpet, with the glass lying beside it. They left white dust all over everything, and especially creepy was the hand print in the dust on my roommate’s dresser. Hopefully they just had to move something… right?
My then boyfriend told me he had come by one day, saw the door open and that they were working in the suite, and realized I wasn’t home so turned to leave. The guys were basically like, oh come on in if you want. He was creeped out and so was I — nobody should be let into your suite without your permission, especially as they had no proof who he was!

If your landlord tells you that Brighter Mechanical is coming to repipe the building, save yourself the grief and just move.
Promises of professionalism, courtesy, and 48 hours notice before entering your apartment simply aren’t kept. Not even close. I ended up sleeping at a friend’s house for much of the course of the repiping because it was just way too unpredictable when they would be barging into my home. One morning, when they were not scheduled to be working in my apartment, a tradesman actually entered my apartment and opened my bedroom door (where I was still in bed). No knocking, no apology, and no business being in my bedroom. Disgustingly unprofessional.
Complaint emails sent to their online customer service aren’t replied to. At the end of the repiping, they send out forms for tenants to fill out whether there is any outstanding repiping problems. I filled it out — there were still some issues with my bath faucet (which they had changed) — but nothing was done about it. The whole repiping process took a whole month longer than they’d promised in the beginning!
