Krusty’s Bicycles

My dérailleur cable came off completely while I was on the road at Iona Beach and I gave them a call if they could look at it. It was going to be a simple cable replacement. They said it was OK. Since cabs didn’t want to come to Iona, I had to talk all the way to the shop in cycling shoes. I arrived there at 4:10 and the service guy said even if they started right away, it would take 2 hours to change a cable (!) and that they were closing at 5. I said it normally takes 15 minutes everywhere else and I walked all the way from Iona because they confirmed the work could be done. 2 hours was also a made-​up time and they just wanted to skip the work and go home. Even though I said this was an emergency and that I could pay double/​triple the replacement cost, didn’t make any difference. This was the first time I really needed help but was quite disappointing. I had to call a cab and have it take me home.
We’re trying to support local bike shops; I bought 3 bikes from them previously but didn’t see any loyalty at the time I really needed… Quite disappointing.
