Lansdowne Centre

It’s ok for the dollar store or the toys r us but pretty boring overall… when I left it was the closing time of the mall and they blocked the exit where I parked My car grrr

For some reason, I classified this mall to be an Asian Mall. I find it ridiculous with the mall design layout. I get the idea that a good mall design is to try to trap its customer so they will shop more. But this mall is so confusing. It has many main center or should I call them circles or connector points. You just ended up frustrated and lost. It removes the mood of really going to shop but then again the stores are not great here. They have the Langley Market which I think is the most busiest store in the mall. Other then that, the mall can be classified as a bit dead. There are on the other hand many parking spaces. You don’t have to go in circles looking for a place to park. Isn’t that awesome.
Would I come back again. I only come when I have something I need.

I’ve been to this particular mall a few times and liked it. They have my favorite store (best buy and toys r us) And they do have other stores like dollarama. sad that target and future shop are gone. Food court has a lot to offer. I prefer Lansdowne to Richmond Centre. The skytrain station is across from the mall which is convenient.

I only ever find myself coming to Lansdowne Centre to go to two specific stores:

While I don’t go out of my way to go to Lansdowne’s food court, I do enjoy R & H Chinese Food (

Target and Future Shop are gone. It’s too bad that Lansdowne can’t seem to attract better stores. It has ample parking and is conveniently transit accessible. Oh well, it’ll get bulldozed eventually (

This mall has a terrible outdated design. It is built like an octopus and is designed like a maze. Whoever designed this mall layout should be fired.
You have to walk long circles to get to certain stores. Richmond Center is by far the superior mall in Richmond. Lansdowne Centre is tired and old looking, and the stores are also very outdated, catering to an older generation. The fashion retail stores here are not appealing. There’s not much selection in the tiny foodcourt either. If you are on Wind mobile, your data plan will lose reception in this mall. I just come here only for Fair Bee bubbletea and Home Sense. Target closed out at this mall, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Best Buy was next to fold in the near future. The only venue that is consistently busy in this dead mall is a fruit market there (I think it’s called Kin’s Farm Market). Like Shila mentioned in the review below mine, there’s nothing much to see here. Do yourself a favor and go to Richmond Centre instead.

This mall was the «happening» mall decades ago. Since then, it’s gone to shits. It’s old, but that’s ok. However, the business office who runs the mall seemingly is too cheap to upgrade the mall. I imagine the rent is expensive especially now since the Skytrain is close by. I feel bad for the retailers. The mall simply doesn’t get much traffic.
The mall feels like a small corner strip mall. Businesses (most do not stand out) are typically empty with the exception of Future Shop, Best Buy, Winners, and Langley Farms. Even then, with the exception of the latter, the big box stores are rarely ever busy.
The meager Christmas (Santa’s photobooth) is horribly pathetic. It’s ridiculously lame. It’s beyond shocking. The Santa they got for 2014 is a tall bearded stickman with a small pillow as his belly. Is he some long distance runner that he can stay so skinny at that age? It’s mind-​boggling. My guess is he’s probably one of the Lansdowne Mall’s shareholders.
Now, If they did a colossal Santa’s village, like they had decades ago, the mall would be busy… at least for the Christmas season. If you can’t be the best in terms of shops and selection, at least be the best at something else like Santa’s village. Failing that, at least make the mall attractive, inviting, and appealing.
The several big box stores (like Target and Homesense which most people do not shop due to poor service or lousy prices) haven’t revitalized the mall at all. The mall needs other stores like those in Metrotown. It’s too bad they done away with the large Safeway store that was another favorite of people shopping in the mall.
For me, I don’t like a crowded mall, but I don’t like to shop in an empty mall either. It’s like all mankind has perished and only the survivors are taking refuge in the mall. That’s what Lansdowne Mall feels like to me.
All and all, this mall is quite pitiful. It occasionally brings memories of the good old days when the mall was full of people, lots of selection, and the food court was stellar. Now, it’s just another place to take a nap away from home, nothing more.
I suggest heading to Richmond Centre (old Richmond Square) or even to Metrotown if you must. You will find deals there, sadly, and not unexpectedly considering everything, you’ll be hard pressed to find any deals at Lansdowne Mall.

This is another mall on the Canada line I like to stop at. It’s one stop past Aberdeen if you are on your way to Richmond Brighouse.
It is also not a super large mall, but it does have a Target, Winners, Jysk, Home Sense, Best Buy, Toys R Us, Home Outfitters, Future Shop and Sleep Country.
It also has many small shops as well as restaurants and food court, and many service shops.
I like the Ardenes in this mall. It’s more of an outlet as everything there is on sale up to 80% off. They also have accessories ³⁄₁₀ $ ⁵⁄₁₀ $ and ¹⁰⁄₁₀ $ so if your looking for stocking stuffers or inexpensive grab bag items or even secret Santa gifts, it’d a great place to go.
I also like the Dollarrama here for battery’s
Plastic containers, and a variety of other things all priced at under 3 $.
So if your looking to do some bargain shopping or need housewares or electronics this is a great one stop destination.

This lace sucks. I was with a fd to buy wine in the store and my fd was being asked for an ID which was perfectly fine but I was just there with him and I was request to provide ID too. I do not know if they have the power to check mine as I am not buying in the case. I saw the two ppl in front of me did not got check on both of their IDs (one was buying and one just standing beside him). Then why check mine… Non-​sense!!! Very dumb rule…

Okay so this is not the most appealing mall and I wouldn’t go out of my way to attend the stores, however, if you’re in the area it’s not all that bad. They have a best buy, Kins, Target, Toys R Us, Winners etc. If you’re in Richmond than this is the place otherwise just go to Metrotown. Seriously there is really nothing here folks… move along.

I love Landsdowne. It’s conveniently located across from the Lansdowne skytrain station. For a tiny mall, Landsdowne has alot to offer! Their food court has hidden gems like R&H Chinese Food, Taco Luis, and Let’s Roll. They have chain storeslike Best Buy, Target, Homesense, Dollarama for your shopping needs. There are also a few restuarants, the ever popular No.9 (for late night eats hehe), Tropika, Kyung Bok Palace! They even have a Anna’s Cake House and a Kin’s Farm Market!
I prefer Landsdowne to Richmond Centre any day.

Ok, there is nothing wrong with the mall except for the fact that it is usually deserted.
I like it honestly, there are really good deals (and you can bargain). It’s small but there are many services and shops, everything you could ask for pretty much. There’s also lots of big stores such as Target, Best Buy etc. All the store staffs are nice and care because chances are you are the only customer in their store.
They also have a Wifi Lounge which is cool and a nice place to chill and watch TV or whatever. The foodcourt is quiet so you can grab a bit or hit the books or paperwork.
Customer service is nice and they have lots of tourist info and all the good stuff to be expected. If you like quiet shopping and don’t mind a little bit of a smaller-​asian-​mall feel you might want to check Lansdowne out.

Besides BestBuy, HomeSense, Toy R Us, and Futureshop, they have a Target there now! The place is crowded during the holidays. I saw a line up for people buying rice cookers at one of the shops in the mall on Boxing Day. Plenty of parking surrounds the building and it’s steps away from the Canada Line Skytrain.

Good Ol’ Lansdowne Mall seems to be on the upswing lately, especially now that Target has opened here.
What I like about the Mall: never a problem parking here. Access to the Canada Line is easy, just a 3 minute walk. 2 big electronics stores (Best Buy & Future Shop, although I can’t see them both staying in business here almost side by side).
What I don’t like: outside the big box stores, much of the rest of the mall still seems to be struggling. There are too many small, one of a kind shops that seem sparsely stocked with hardly anyone in them.
Food Court: seems to be a fairly high turnover rate here — always some place closed up, with another just opened. The best spots are still Curry Express and the Pizza place. The Thai food stall used to be good, but the last meal we had there was a-​w-​f-​u-​l.
For a good lunch or dinner at the mall, I’d say Kyung Bok Palace (Korean) is the best.

Pros
–very empty and rarely crowded
–has a Target opening there soon, Future Shop, Best Buy, Payless, Toys R’Us, Ardenes (so there are a few popular stores)
–food court is AWESOME. Honestly, much better food court than Richmond Centre or Aberdeen. The prices are a lot lower too!
Cons
–most of the stores are obscure family-​run businesses
–because it’s usually deserted there is a weird ambiance about the place
–most of the people hanging around here are senior citizens (not exactly the type of mall that teenage girls hang out in)
All in all, it’s a fantastic place to walk around in and browse. There are a lot of coffee shops and of course the fantastic food court. For your electronics or toy needs check this place out.

This mall had seen it’s better day back in the 80’s. Came here for lunch and there was plenty of parking at the mall. I use to look forward to come to this mall when I was younger. But with the building of Richmond Center and other malls like Aberdeen. I don’t usually stop by this mall.
There are still a few places to shop at this mall like Home Sense. Looking forward to the opening of Target in the near future. I just hope it helps revitalizes Lansdowne. Sure miss it when it was the go to shopping mall back in the day. Sigh.

I think Lansdowne gets a bit of a bad rep. It’s not really that bad.
Sure, it might be run down as much as say, Detroit, but there are still some good things here. Best Buy and Future Shop are here. Hell, this Best Buy didn’t even get closed. They have a Home Outfitters and a Home Sense. I think there are still a few restaurants still in business, plus the food court.
Lansdowne is also lacking in teenagers. I imagine it’s just not cool enough for them. That’s a plus in my books.

Extra star for nostalgic reasons, but other than the big anchors there, if you can even call Z that, there’s no purpose to come here… unless you’ve got a family to check out Toys r Us.
Plus maybe if you want to avoid the mayhem at Rmd Centre, sure, it’s got good Asian bakery for sure, a handful of decent restos, but like other Unilocalers here, not a place to hang or to be seen or to see!
Parking sucks in front of the anchors, but for ease of entrance/​exit, i take the side road where Kwantlen College is, saves time even if you have to go thru all the extra speed bumps. Otherwise, Hazelbridge coming thru Alderbridge, you’ll miss several lights for sure if you coming from Aberdeen lol.

Landsdowne Centre is the oldest shopping centre in Richmond? May be or may be not. it built since 1977. that’s why look so old and no major renovation in the mall.
It has a lot of big franchise stores there such as Best Buy, Future Shop, Home Hardware, Home Outfitters, Home Sense/​Winners, JYSK, Toys «R» Us, and Zellers.
I come here for hot yoga class at Bikram Yoga regularly. I will stop and glance at Showcase store sometime coz I find something very interesting.

It is one of those malls that you really scratch your head and say, wow, your still standing, and your still here and it is so dead in here! If your coming to Lansdowne you must have some mission to come here, shopping for electronics? (Future Shop and Best Buy are here, a walk away from eachother!) Coming for some hot yoga? Throwing your kids at Toys R Us, coming here after hours cause you need booze and are hitting up the Liquor Depot?
This is really a desination place, because there really is nothing this mall can offer compared to the one up the block (Richmond Centre). There’s still always the No.9 after the club’s, or the Hot Pot joint on the other side of the mall, but they are all ‘one off’s’. With the state of this mall as it is it makes you wonder if they should just turn this one back to a horse track (what it used to be, which explains the logo of the place!).
I don’t think anything can really bring this mall back to life, as the good places will always choose Richmond Centre to do business than here, it’s just depressing knowing that this used to be the spot… way back when.

This mall has been around forever. Many stores have come and gone from here.
In the 1980s (back when it was Lansdowne Mall) it was the glory days. The anchor tenant was Safeway (where Best Buy is now), and I remember begging my parents to let me come here to buy computer goodies.
In the 1990s they opened up a Computer City (where Future Shop is now). Unfortunately, the opening of the «new» Richmond Centre (they underwent a major renovation) in the mid 90s started a horrible decline in this place. By 2000, this place was pretty much dead. Fortunately, they managed to revise this place with Best Buy, Future Shop, Zellers, and Toys R Us.
The mall is quite spacious, and it actually is pretty decent nowadays. With that said, everyone I know that comes here is here either to buy electronics, or eat, which may not be a good thing. However, the restaurants here are quite decent, ranging from the food court to #9 to Kyung Bok Palace to Gingeri.
One thing I really like is that I can always take a breather in one of the 2 large circular atrium areas. Sometimes they have shows, or the occasional merry-​go-​round, but most of the time it’s just a nice area to feel like you’re outside.
Parking is never a problem here. Their lot is freaking HUGE.
