Memory Express

I had what I want to get before I visit this store and I walked out with a much better desktop system. I was lucky I ran into one of their staff, Gerard, who spent more than half hour to help me get the best performance/​price system. I had read other people’s review and had quite high expectation, and my whole experience felt nothing short of it. If all of their staffs are as knowledgeable and willing as Gerard you really cannot be rational to try them before make any related purchases.

Memory Express is much better than those NCIX stores that have zero customer service. Every time I’ve been to Memory Express, I’ve been impressed with how polite and helpful their staff have been. They also match prices. I just wish there were more Memory Express stores!

What can I say about memory express — more so than their amazing price match policy and their selection of computer goods, their customer service is bar none absolutely the best place about it.
Their customer service is amazing. I’m not talking about just a friendly smile — I’m talking about how knowledgable they are with their products from small things like the Adobe rgb color reproduction of monitors, the intricacies of what a cherry red mechanical keyboard are or that to be careful about running a 1440 monitor with an Hdmi cable because of how it’ll limit the refresh rate of the monitor.
Especially of note is Christopher and Tommy at this store. Any question that you may have they have expert advice whether it be a really small detail or general recommendations. These guys have knowledge of parts normal people wouldn’t know and it shows that they love their job and keep up with all the latest trends. And hell these guys are friendly… who knew that you can be knowledgable and friendly at the same time?
NCIX might have a fancy YouTube channel and a good selection of stores but honestly their customer service is lacking. Bought a gtx970 off of them and they wanted me to contact their head office through their website to get a price match… the wait is around 1 hour… what??? I’m serious — NCIX a makes you contact head office for a price match.
Memory express never close, and although your a bit of a drive from Vancouver you’ve won my business on all my future computer parts purchases.

My go-​to computer store.
They may not have the best selection, but they have helpful staff and an awesome price match policy. I’d recommend this place over NCIX any day of the week.

I called them on a monitor which was on sale, ask if they had stock, they said yes. I rushed down (all the way from downtown) to pick it up and they said they sold the last one just a minute ago. They pointed to the customer that had it on hold as he was walking around the store and told me to go ask him if he wanted it? Really that’s what you tell an angry customer?
Why did the person on the phone not say they had limited stock and to ask my name to put one aside. That would be customer service.
Why did the staff tell me to go guilt another customer to give up the last one?
Why did a manager not intervene with another solution or offer? Not like I wasn’t verbal, all the sales staff heard and turned away.
Professional? No.
Customer service, No…
Kids running the store, yes…
Management accountable? Doesn’t look like it.
A fail on many levels. You decide if you support this kind of business behavior.

Visited numerous NCIX’s looking for a female USB to micro USB plug for a tablet but none of them had any idea what I was talking about until I came to Memory Express. The staff are very knowledgeable, helpful, and pretty much all of their stock is on display so you know what they have right off the bat!

Ok so I went their a second time a few months later to get my computer checked because my video card was acting up. The people their now super friendly they welcome you when you enter the store right away they also have a place where they can fix your computer or help build you one.

The website is much better now! Overall they still don’t have the selection of products that NCIX does, and the addition of the NCIX Lansdowne store is a bit of a blow (easier parking) but when it comes down to computer purchases it’s still between Memory Express and NCIX for me (depending on price and availability).

It’s been a few years since my initial review and nothing has changed.
Great service, great prices, and great selection. The only time I find myself shopping elsewhere is if they don’t carry an item or if it isn’t in stock.
Their Über Price Beat is great. They will beat any advertised price from a Canadian competitor by 25% of the difference at the time of purchase or up to 7 days afterwards (with a few very reasonable caveats:
). I have taken advantage of this on several occasions when purchasing computer hardware and software and have never had a problem.

Bought my laptop, mouse, and home sound system from them throughout the years.
This place carries a much better selection of –good– notebooks and accessories. With a whole line of ASUS laptops in stock, and at good prices, NCIX has nothing on this place, while FutureShop and BestBuy not even close.
In comparison, the likes of FutureShop sell more office oriented supplies, while Memory Express carries and displays a much better selection for the younger crowd, including ultrabooks and gaming laptops.
Never took advantage of their price match, but pricing as is gives good value anyways. Will return & recommend.

While the staffs were helpful, the price seems to be much higher than ncix. The store should definatly pay attention to their high prices

Memory Express only gets a 1 star from me when they didn’t live up to their Über price beat guarantee. I did not get any problems getting a price match for the same product at Best Buy. So watch out buyers, they will do anything to not give you the best deal.

This place is huge and a great computer building station! I’m impressed since it looks really competitive with NCIX but the service is a lot faster at processing. There is a wide selection of all kinds of things, from prepared computers to computer parts to the various frames, to accessories including cameras, mice and all, as well as a variety of carrying bags, and finally a big clearance section where you can get whatever is being offered there on what looked like large discounts.
However, I went to get some cell phone accessories as Christmas gifts and this place doesn’t actually print gift receipts? I guess people tend to only come here to get their own needed supplies for work or whatnot, or maybe techies don’t return gifts? Somehow I doubt that last one…
Anyway, nice place but get with the program for Christmas, Memory Express!

I tried to give you a shot, but by not honoring your advertising gimmick of the Über Price Beat Guarantee, I’m not coming back. I went in for the first time to purchase a few things and one item was going to be a price match with NCIX. Mind you, the item was just a few bucks less at NCIX. The associate tried to play a verbal semantics game that the item was available at NCIX’s local Vancouver warehouse, but not in their stores. It’s convenient that Memory Express pulls this crap when their main competitor runs several small outlets throughout Metro Vancouver that receive locally available items a day or two later.
Why torture yourself going to the crappy one and only Number 3 Road Memory Express location in Richmond just for BS? Adiós MemEx, you simply suck. Do yourself a favor and just deal with Costco or NCIX for electronics. Beyond that, you could order from Amazon or Newegg in the States and pick up your parcels at a mail service in Blaine or Point Roberts for a lot less.

A tech store that I would compare more so to NCIX than Futureshop or Bestbuy. It’s nice to see another option for a market that feels dominated in Canada by big box stores.
I had to pick up a computer cable to connect my laptop to a new monitor so I called around for pricing/​stock and they offered the lowest price (7 dollars less than any competitor!). I also noticed a few items selling for lower here than on
and in the US.
I am quite impressed and the staff, though fewer than you would see in other stores, were very helpful and friendly.
This is all based on a first impression so I’ll be updating further upon future visits.

Bought my recent PC from this place because I heard pretty good things about it so I decided to check it out.
The amount of products is sort of between Frys electronics and NCIX just to give a size comparison.
The service was the best I’ve had at any electronic store. I have no idea if they work on commission, but they didn’t seem too eager to help, but still asked when I was browsing for a few minutes. I wish I could remember the gentlemans name that helped me because he was really helpful.
All in all a good experience and would recommend over NCIX 100 fold. Like many other reviewers, I wish they weren’t in Richmond.

I didn’t end up buying anything this time around so I’m not sure about the service but I will post an update I’d I do shop here.
First of all, this place is massive! Think of a Future Shop or Best Buy sized store filled with NCIX type of products. This is literally a nerd/geek’s heaven on earth. Huge selection of cases, cables, upgrades. Literally everything you can think off. Not too many rare parts (I had trouble finding a 180 mm fan. They had only 1 or 2 choices). Still, it was nice that they had everything on the shelves so you can pick it up, look at it, don’t have to bug an associate just to get something; a huge relief compared to NCIX.
Their website is also much better than NCIX. Lots of pictures just in case you aren’t sure. I haven’t tried to order anything yet so I can’t say how good the shipping or return experience is. Again, I will update if I happen to try it out.
Overall I think you will be impressed and worth a visit if you are looking to build or upgrade.

Have you ever wanted a store to have really high prices? Have you searched a website catalog and said, «Aww…That price isn’t high enough.»???
That is my reaction whenever checking prices at Memory Express. You see they have a price-​match guarantee that they actually honour and give you 25% of the difference between their price and the lower priced competitor. So if you happen to find a really high priced item here you can get it dirt cheap once you do the price match. Unfortunately haven’t had too much luck on that front, as they are normally priced just slightly above some of the discount locations around town like NCIX, and their online version

The good news is that unlike NCIX you can get hands on with the inventory and look through what they have, reading boxes, etc. before having to talk to a sales associate or place an online order for local pickup. Oh, and they also have a more consumer friend exchange policy if the item isn’t right when you get it home.
The other good news is that everyone is REALLY friendly, helpful and somewhat knowledgeable about their offerings. Nifty.
Think back to the good old days of Fry’s when they first opened. This is kind of like that.
The selection of technology is a step above what you will find at the box stores (including the geeky models you find on Tom’s Hardware and have a hard time locating in bigger stores), and they seem to have always had everything in stock when I’ve needed it.
Oh, and that 25% price beat guarantee is something they are absolutely fine with doing — no hassle at all. They basically just verify it quickly on the web and then go ahead and give the discount right at the register. No muss, no fuss.
So my big tip for shopping here? Before you pay be sure to check the items on something like shopbot to see if you can find a better price for them to beat. They will!

OMG, this place a big kid’s toy store!
Electronices, tvs, computers, sound systems and much more! It’s kind of like Best Buy and NCIX merging into an all in one mega store.
They have very friendly service, competitive pricing (match & beat competitor’s price), and knowledgeable staff.
I would be here every other day… if I lived in Richmond. :(
