The people who work here are very nice and I like the layout. Lots to choose from!

Like most things I review, I like this place. It is awesome for so many reasons: 1 — great from trying new recipes and you only need a bit of this or a bit of that… you can get what you need. 2 — spices are cheep. And if you buy the big things of spices at the regular grocery store they can«expire» before you get to use the whole thing. So buy what you need. 3 — By buying what you need, you are saving on interest. Because you are not paying upfront and can save you money in your bank account where it accumulates interest until you need more food!(this pointer is for the banker) 4 — They have a lot of health foods. Yes I think most people go for the junk food, but there is a lot of great food too. They have multiples kinds of beans, lentils, rice and grains. I buy all that sort of stuff here and store it in mason jars. It is great because you don’t get the excess salt that you get when you use canned goods. 5 — They have natural beauty products. If you into that sort of thing, they have nice soaps and shampoos. 6 — While I am not into the whole cake decorating thing, my sister is, and this is a great place for supplies, or in my case gifts for my sister. 7 — They have gluten-free food. I have a friend that is a celiac, so getting gluten-free food is important when I cook meals for us. They recently changed the layout, and I like it a lot more. I think with this makeover they got a lot more loose leaf teas. I can’t be certain, but I think so. A great thing to know is that you can get discounts on top of already reasonably priced food. Wednesday is the day for seniors and students. But if you have a job or are just not a student /senior, you can get a membership from Northern Vegetarian Society for $ 20 /year and get a 10% discount any day of the week. The only thing I would warn about shopping here is that it is easy to make the assumption that the food here is cheep… which a lot of it is. however, not all of it is. Somethings can work out better at the grocery store. So be wise and pay attention to your bills. Keep a couple bills and compare them or write prices down on your smartphone and the next time you are in your regular store compare.

I lived in Sudbury for over 10 years and went here all the time when I was at the south end. Most things are cheaper to buy from Bulk Barn than they would be at a regular grocery store, be a smart shopper and calculate quickly in your head the price by per 100g to figure out where it is cheaper. If you can’t calculate fast then carry a cell phone with a calculator or a calculator itself to help you in your quest to save as much as possible on food. I still go here every once in a while when I visit Sudbury to stock up on some supplies for when I’m on the road. I almost always make a trip to bulk barn before heading to the movies, who wants to pay for pop corn at the movies, when you can have all kinds of candy and party mixes! Go Builk Barn! On a side note: This is one of the very few places in Sudbury that you can find Indian Spices like Turmeric Powder, Garam Masala, Cayenne Pepper Powder, Coriander Powder.
