Food Basics Stores

I can’t lie — my experience with this Food Basics store was disappointing. Here’s why:
Pros:
— Great prices and sales, as is to be expected with this chain.
— Convenient location for those living in the area.
Cons:
— The parking lot is an absolute nightmare — it’s difficult to get into and out of, and it is simply unable to accommodate the volume of customers it gets on a regular basis.
— Store entrance is cramped.
— A lot of products were out of stock.
— Navigating the aisles was frustrating due to the sheer number of people and the relatively small size of the store.
— The checkout experience was dreadful — every single register had a lineup of 5 – 6 people, which meant the the aisle separating the checkout area from the grocery area was completely blocked.
— A significant portion of patrons were very inconsiderate, which further soured the shopping experience.
— Staff seemed overwhelmed (small wonder).
Will I be returning to this Food Basics location? Not if I can help it. I’m glad there’s a nicer store right down the road from my home.
