The hotel recommended this restaurant to us when we asked for a referral. We really enjoyed our meal. The rainbow roll and the French kiss roll were very good, full of flavor and presented in a pleasing way. The miso soup was almost without tofu but the flavor was great. I will definitely go back this spring when I am in Surrey again.

The food is amazing when their main chef is working. There’s another chef who is still literally having a mid life cooking crisis. The food and the environment are amazing but everything else sucks. Fruit flies and big flies everywhere, waitresses and waiters don’t know what to do all the time and forget to bring tea(they see youngster and just ignore them). The service is terrifyingly horrific. The only reason this place isn’t getting a one star is because of the food.

This place used to be so good I would come for the spicy sashimi salad. But as time passed by the food got more expensive and wasn’t really good. Also I think there is something wrong with the food. I’ve gotten sick the last few times I ate here. I have compared stories with my friends who have dined here recently and they also have gotten sick. I would absolutely avoid this place until they fixed: — service — food — adjust prices

It’s one of our favorite sushi places in surrey/guilford. We have been going there for the past 3 years. There was a brief time when staff was changing and the service was slow! But now it seems to be back on track with the service. The food is great. red dragon rolls is my favourite($ 10.99 a roll but soo good).

Sushi has got to be one of my favourite foods. If I could only eat one thing for the rest of my life it would be sushi, but it wouldn’t be this sushi. Let’s start with their service. It was below average. The waitress that was signed to our table rarely came to check on our table. And that fact that she had her phone on her was very unprofessional, and ignored our table most of the time we were there. We wouldn’t have gotten a lot of our stuff if it wasn’t for another girl who helped us out. The food was okay. But not what you’d expect from what they charge. Would I go back here? If I had no other option or if one of my friends really wanted to go, but I would never go by my own choosing.

I’ve been to this restaurant a few times, but this last time I went it really knocked it out of the park! The sushi selection is amazing, so many options to choose from. The layout has a modern twist to it, being able to accommodate for groups as well. There were 5 of us plus a little one. We got sat right away, and they brought out a highchair. Very quick service. The best part was that we were served corn tea instead of green tea(very very very good!)

Terrible food, service and prices. I would honestly rate them a –3 but you can’t go below 1 star. No eye contact at all with our waiter that answered my questions continuing what he was doing and looking down. The girl that sat us down(4 and a infant seat) said that there are only tables for 4 and they only reserve the table for 6 for parties of six. She relented when I said ok do you have one for 5? No smile even. The udon I ordered wasn’t up to par with any udon I’ve ever eaten and I’ve had udon from Vancouver, all over California where I lived and even Texas were I live now. It just wasn’t the right taste. A little on the sweet and semi acidic side. The asparagus sushi? THEWORSTSUSHI I’VEEVERHAD. I grew up in Vancouver and had baaaaad sushi from all over the world but nothing as Tasteless as this one. Tasted dead. Empty space but worse. It was only $ 2.50 but it shouldn’t be THAT disgusting. And to boot my 4yr old ordered rice. Yes it’s very simple. However, the rice wasn’t fully cooked but the server served it to us anyhow! It is so obvious when the kernel is still bright white and the outside a little opaque that you SHOULDNOTSERVETHERICE. What disappointment for any Asian restaurant. I will never eat here and advise that one one should if they want good food or know why good food is and looks like. They should have paid us to ingest what we did. I’m not sure why I even ate my udon. Out of guilt I guess since we were gonna have to pay for it in the end.

I often stop by this place to do take out. Today, I walked in with the only waitress on the phone taking orders. I waited for maybe 20 mins and she is still on the phone. No other waitress or person to even greet me. Priorities! She should have taken my order first which maybe takes her 5 mins, get my order in so the chief can start making it and then go back to the phone call, instead of just leaving me hanging there. Other the poor service, I have to admit the food is pretty decent.

Worst experience. Came here with a party of 8(6 adults, 2 kids). We were seated after a short wait, then the servers forgot about us for about 15 minutes. Probably would still be waiting if we hadn’t walked over to one and told them we wanted to order(attempting to flag someone down didnt work, as they never looked in our direction). We ordered multiple rolls and roll combos, kids combos, 2 orders of sashimi, chirashi don, and a tempura udon. The udon came out first about 15 minutes in, and then nothing for about a half hour. So it was either one person in our party had to start eating while everyone stared, or politely wait while his food went cold… for 30 minutes. Oh, and he wanted hot pepper for the udon, and again we couldn’t flag anyone, so had to again walk up and ask for it. The only hot dish in our entire order came wayyy before anything else. The rest of the food came out sporadically, and some of our order was just completely forgotten. The kid’s orders came out dead last; and only after we questioned the staff, an hour after everything else(poor kids — and their orders were arguably the easiest to make, california, tamago etc, and a few pieces of tamago). I thought my rolls and sashimi were decent, but others ordered a spicy sashimi combo with very questionable rubbery fish. When we asked we were told it was wild sockeye(which it quite obviously wasnt based on the colour). They also charge a little more than other places. Would definitely never come back.

We stopped by for dinner and were seated right away. Then the wait began. We kept waiting and waiting. We were missing a set of chopsticks and no tea/water was served. We were about to leave when someone finally acknowledged us, took our order, brought water and chopsticks over. Food arrived quickly afterwards. Quality was very good. I thoroughly enjoyed my lobster roll. It was loaded with crabmeat and one deep fried lobster. Chopped scallop roll was average. The rolls were well made and did not fall apart. Price is a bit more than the Vancouver area. The service was lacklustre. I think the restaurant has a great location located across from Guilford Mall.

Quality Japanese food and good price. Place quite nice but bit dark to my taste on interior. Great selection of roll and cooked Japanese food available on the menu. For safe side, I always try California and Dynamite rolls. Quite fresh and flavourful. Good quantity of food to satisfy your hunger.

Probably the best sushi place in Guilford. The fish is fresh and always delicious. The food is always prepared with great attention to detail and I’m always amazed at how good it is. The menu offers a big variety of foods, one better than the other. It’s a little pricier than other places but it’s worth it. It’s open till 11 pm which is always a plus.

In short, don’t eat here… Came in for lunch, was seated immediately. Didn’t see any service staff for 15 – 20 minutes. Finally they came over to my section and served the larger table that just arrived before taking my order. Asked what kind of nigiri was served, they said Tuna and Salmon. I ended up with crab, egg, some white thing, and one piece of salmon and tuna, not exactly what I was told. Service was abysmal. Had to ask twice for more water.

The food is good. But we have been here 3 – 4 times and always feel like we are bothering them when we ask for something. Really annoying and for that reason I will look for another place. Waitresses need to get some training in customer service. Say please and thank you.

Probably the most plain sushi I’ve ever had. The service was horrible. On a busy night we waited over an hour for two basic rolls and I was very close to just walking out without paying. I ordered water when we arrived and for the entire time we were there we didn’t get it. When we told the server how ridiculous it was they told us «well we’re busy so» with a very indifferent attitude. I have been here several times before this occurrence and often they are very slow. The food is very bland and they are not accommodating to people with allergies which makes them seem ignorant. I regret the money I’ve spent here because out of the few times I have gone I can never bear to finish the entire meal.

Arrived on a late Saturday night and was quickly greeted by a hostess. After gathering menus together, we were assisted to booth seats. A server showed up not too long after with tea. Their menus are so shottily put together, literally, one had missing pages to it compared to the other while the other had the hinge falling off from one of the pages. We flagged down the waitress to get another menu which she did easily. I can’t remember if that menu was damaged as well, but then again, we came here for the food, not the menus LOL. I decided on the set tengoku dinner for $ 21-$ 23? It came with a dynamite roll, appetizer of the day(which happened to be takoyaki that day), beef, chicken or some other one I can’t rmbr, don, green salad, miso soup, appetizer tempura and ice cream(flavors ranged between chocolate mocha, green tea, and mango). My companion ordered chicken don which I think was about $ 10 – 12? The food was a tad bit slow as well as service, but it was understandable as it was quite busy that night. The waitress was pretty nice as well! All of my food tasted good, especially the beef don which came to me sizzling on a wooden plate with a side of rice. The chicken don my companion ordered was OK. Tea. I think its supposed to be green tea? But it tastes like corn LOL. Portions are generous and I left really full! Overall, it was a pretty mediocre-good experience. I would probably return if I was in the area. Oh yeah, its pretty dim in there as well and not good for pictures unless u have flash!

Actually 2.5 stars. Food was okay but took way too long – I eat sushi frequently and I’ve almost never had to wait almost 25 minutes for a simple sushi combo. As well, I was eating with two friends and had to leave early; I paid at the front counter and specifically asked to make sure my friends wouldn’t have to pay for my order. They ended up charging them for it anyway and my friend had to walk back to ask for a refund. Food is okay, prices reasonable, I was just really unimpressed by the service.

So far the best sushi place I’ve been. Loved the atmosphere, decorations and kinda felt like I was in Japan for some reason. The tempura were delicious, best one I’ve ever eaten. Ordered the chicken Karaage, takoyaki, and caterpillar roll with my sister. sauce was great and prices were reasonable. Will be coming back.

I actually frequent this place whenever I’m in Surrey because the boyfriend likes it. I wasn’t a fan at first but I ended up liking it. The food is reasonably prices and always tasty. Decent price too. Last time I went I found my go to item! The sashimi salad. You get a huge portion with lots of sashimi for only $ 7.95. I will order this every time from now on.
