Albert Campbell Library looks small from the outside but it’s has decent room. The computer are limited as they only have about 10 on the main floor. It’s one of the smaller but it’s collection is quite large. The design is what threw me off the first time, this library technically has 3 floor. The main floor is our circulation and reference desk, computers and adult area. Pretty simple but I rarely do I see that children section is on the second floor but it’s half a floor thou. Its poor design since these kids can get noisy and the littlest thing and you can hear them from downstairs in adult areas. it is structured like a balcony so that even concerns me since I was talking to security guard about the unusual design and he said it’s a problem due they have kids drop things over the edge and it has hit adult in head. Poor design but I know to watch my head Downstairs is just the washroom and theatre/meeting room for programs, nothing too exciting. This library has two entrances, one from the street upstair and on downstair by the washroom leading to parking lot. The parking is decent size but there is a plaza across the street if you cant find parking

Albert Campbell Library is recipient of a Trillium Award for outstanding contribution to the beauty of Scarborough, presented by the Agincourt Garden Club, the Scarborough Historical Society, and the City of Scarborough Recreation and Parks Department. The design itself does have all the characteristic of the era it was built: Brutalist architecture. Characteristic of linear, fortress like and blockish, often with a predominance of concrete construction. The inside though is well maintained and not as cold. Albert Campbell is a few of the libraries I been to in the area has the sense of being in the library… quietness, people studying and no toddlers running around or screaming. The place though is pretty packed for an early afternoon. If you want to use one of the computers, you might need to reserve one on line! Plenty of parking!
