So — this review isn’t really fair I’m gonna have to come back and have some beer and pub fare. My girlfriend and I just came for the comedy which was great that they had shows. The venue itself was really clean and I liked the fact they had stone table tops it felt higher quality and it wasn’t sticky like laminated wooden tables or something. The workers are friendly and the venue is really beautiful with all of the stained glass.

The atmosphere at the ABC would have been absolutely perfect had it not been ruined by a group of overly obnoxious drunkards. I know their presence is no fault of the restaurant, but this rowdy group needed to be cut off and instead they were rewarded with constant rounds and a much more tentative server than my own.
The food is in no way special as well. While it was perfectly adequate, it did not compare to other Toronto eateries and not even is neighbors on the European block. The food is not even themed properly. Italian food with a Netherlands name? Misleading. The only aptly named bit is the bicycle part for their décor. But food is not established around embellishments.
I am also not a fan of live music (why would you pay to have to listen to strangers and shout to hear each other?) but the group was good if you do enjoy a live set.
Overall, there are much better places in Toronto to spend your Canadian $!

They have the sign Wednesday — 12.5 for ½ lite of wine and it took my in ABC. I dont have chance to try their food yet since my friend and I already had dinner.

Gord and I had supper this evening at the Amsterdam Bicycle Club on the Esplanade.
We’d walked by it a couple months ago and it sounded like a cool name so we thought we’d check it out tonight.
It turns out it is the bar of the Old Spaghetti Factory (the food is prepared in the same kitchen and the menu is similar). Plus it’s where people sit while they are waiting for a table at the Old Spaghetti Factory (which was packed). It was named between there are bicycles around the bar.
Chris was our server and he started us with some hot bread and garlic butter. Yum!
Gord ordered chicken lasagna. He said it was very tasty and he would order it again. I had lasagna. It too was good and I would get it again.
Chris was friendly and took good care of us.

Good patio among a string of good patios all connected to the Spaghetti Factory. They have nightly events from music to stand-​up. Inside is comfortable; a good place for a drink or to watch a game with decent service. I haven’t had the food so can’t comment on that aspect of it. Overall, I’d go if I know the band or stand-​up act but unlikely to return otherwise as it doesn’t stand out.

Even though I live in the neighborhood, I have never gone to this neck of the street. I saw in the NOW that it was open mic night and apparently it happens a couple of times a week, I think. I really liked the décor and I spent the better part of the night admiring it. It is attached to the Old Spaghetti Factory and another pub, they all share the same bathroom. And on the way to the can there is also interesting décor to look at.
Thank goodness that I only ordered the fries, they were so terrible that I can only imagine what the rest of the food is like. They were advertised as ‘spiced’. NOT. No spice was ever involved in the making of those fries. They were limp and I think they were fresh cut because McCain would have at least cut off the mold before packaging them. An hour after eating them I almost vomited right there. (I rarely vomit) I had to suck it back. Gross. It was served in this cool looking, metal slated, cone, with wax paper to hold the fries in. Unfortunate, that is all it could hold in, definitely not the vinegar which ran out the bottom immediately after adding it and then all over the table. Took me a few minute to figure out where all the ‘water’ was coming from. I sopped up as much as i could with a napkin and then after my fries, I switched tables until it dried bc the waitress didn’t wipe the table. The waitress didn’t ask me how my meal was, which is a good thing, or I would have told her, oh yeah. She was a good waitress and no complaints at all. She also tended the bar and I watched her make sure that everyone was taken care of in a timely manner all night. The ‘only’ sugar free drink, is water.
The manager came over to take my order, I guess because I didn’t order fast enough and was taking up a seat in an almost empty bar. Sorry dude, I was busy and ordering was not a priority for me. He seemed kind of abrupt and his attitude toward me felt unwelcoming. I also watched him with the other customers during the night and he was smiling, laughing and friendly with them. Maybe it was the hideous wart on my nose, oh wait, I don’t have a hideous wart on my nose. I guess i will never be sure why he treated me like the plague. Well not the plague ’cause his gut was right up against my table, but you get the idea…

I loved the atmosphere of the ABC, but the service was the absolute worst!!!
A few friends and I went here for dinner after work and it took the server about 15 minutes to take our drink order once we sat down.
After another 20 minutes, she finally came back to the table to take our food order and she was very rude to us.
After 45 minutes, we asked her why the food hadn’t arrived yet and she said the «computers weren’t working, so the kitchen didn’t receive our order».
I’m not sure if this was true, or if she actually forgot to place our order all together, but it would have been nice of her to let us know that our food would take so long. We were starving and would have gone somewhere else along the Esplanade.
After the food arrived, we realized she didn’t bring us any cutlery or napkins with our meals. I asked her if she wouldn’t mind bringing us some and she came back, dropped a pile of cutlery on our table and gave us 3 of those mini bar napkins for our meals! They don’t even cover your lap!
She never once asked us how our meals were or if we wanted any further drinks either.
After paying for our meal, we ended up going down the street for a much better night.

Just wanted a nice patio to read my book. Enjoyed the grilled veggie flatbread and Guiness. Good tunes playing.

The Amsterdam Bicycle Club is a perfect summertime venue for catching some live music. The area is touristy and vibrant, yet somehow has a Toronto charm that makes it less contrived than you would expect, given the location. The Esplanade is a strip that has had a long history as a good spot to go to have fun. Situated in the front room of the venerable and cheesy Old Spaghetti Factory restaurant the juxtaposition of the campy restaurant and bicycle themed bar and stage somehow work together. The stage sits in the front window, almost like window dressing for the patio occupants and reminds me of Graffiti’s in the Market where you can see the backs of the musicians as they play for the crowd inside. Good selection of beer on tap with Molson Stock Ale in silk screened matching pint glasses and efficient patio service out front. The booking for entertainment is eclectic and interesting too.

A quaint bar with great Amsterdam décor. Charming and after not too busy compared to other bars in the area.

…St Patty’s, don’t remember much but i am giving them a 4 because they served me.

Popped in for a beer and light lunch, and while it wasn’t bad, it was a little pricier than it should have been.
The patio is nice though — one of the few along the Esplanade that isn’t totally packed. But $ 20 for a pint and a flatbread (AKA tiny pizza) seemed a bit steep.

The three stars are based on the patio and drinks. We popped in for a quick drink before heading out for dinner. All of the patios on the Esplanade were full and this one is fairly new so we decided to try it.
The servers were so eager to please that we had three (oh look, a star for each server) I ordered a Cesar which was good. I looked at the menu which seemed to have simple food with tourist prices (which makes sense since it is right beside The Old Spagetti Factory)
They have drink specials which seem pretty reasonable.
**Unless it was the only place open, I was a tourist and someone else was paying, I would try the food at this place. I’ve had lots of experience with tourist spots to stay away from them. **

I’ve been here with my friend, we like their Interior design very much include out side flower decollations.
In first impression was Gorgeous and second I felt like a inside of strongbox or Amusement Park?! Museum?! Wow!
I think this restaurant is good for family, couple and groups. I’m not sure for muddy situation.
There are separated Pub area and Restaurant. Washroom were separated with women and men.
Nice service.

We ended up here on a Friday night at about 9:45pm because the other places we tried had long waits and we were thirsty. (Esplanade Bier Markt (line up that wasn’t moving) & Fionn MacCool’s (45min for a table)).
The seating was excellent with round tables and they had comfortable armchairs for each of us to relax in. Not much background noise as they had a few other groups in the place, and the music was on pretty low. (They also had a couple of small screens with the game showing).
Initially the service kinda sucked. I think it was just the server we got, because when his shift was over, the next server we got was much more attentive.
We tried the fresh cut fries ($ 4.50) which reminded me of the fries at the honest lawyer. We also ordered the buffalo tenders ($ 8) and the Spinach & Artichoke Dip ($ 8.50). Milestone’s does a better dip, but all-​in-​all it was decent and it hit the spot.
I enjoyed the Amsterdam Big Wheel (on tap), but they also serve creemore, mill street, rickards, among others. If you order after 10pm the pints are $ 5 (usually $ 6.50).
It turned out to be the perfect spot for our trio as we were mainly looking for a place to have couple (or more) beers and chat.
