I came to Andrew’s as they are part of
which allows you to get sized for free and order a tux rental online at another North American location (the wedding I am in happens to be in San Diego).
I was a bit apprehensive of going, as I thought there was the chance that the staff might be a bit rude given that I was only going for a free sizing. The experience was the complete opposite and Nick was extremely friendly and professional. As it turns out, we had a good conversation related to my work.
Nick definitely seems to get the importance of building relationships with people. I would highly recommend based on the service I received. I do attend formal dinners quite regularly in Toronto so the next time I need a tux rental, I’ll definitely go to this shop, despite it being a bit out of the way (I am downtown) due to the strong customer service.

Earlier this summer I received a wedding invitation and decided that I needed a suit upgrade. When I shopped around with the intention of buying a new suit, it occurred to me that a new summer weight suit might sit in my closet for years before I wore it again. So, I thought «I wonder if you can rent a suit, not a tux, a suit?». A quick Google search led me to Andrew’s; the reviews were very good so I paid them a visit at their Eglinton (just east of Dufferin) location. They showed me a number of suits and I picked a very good looking Perry Ellis summer suit. We spent about 20 minutes doing a fitting and taking measurements. They were very fussy and precise about measurements and fit… a good thing if, like me, you don’t wear a suit very often. A few weeks later I went in to pick everything up. They had me try on the pants for length, spent 10 minutes hemming them in their back shop and sent me on my way with a perfectly tailored suit, pressed and nicely hung in a garment bag.
To sum up; I loved the suit because it was a contemporary style that fit me today, not like a five year old suit that fit me five years ago. I felt like they really appreciated my business and treated me accordingly. They were fussy and careful about the fit. Another thing; it’s clear that the people at Andrew’s really like people. Will I be back? Definitely! Oh, the other obvious question; Price! Around $ 180. To purchase an equivalent suit, wear it for one day and leave in the closet for who knows how long, I’m guessing $ 800-​$ 900. The rental option made sense to me.

I honestly cannot recommend this place enough. I will certainly write an update after the rental occasion, but based on my experience, I can’t imagine it will be anything short of spectacular!
We came to Andrew’s after going to a large chain store which was very disappointing. They offered us only one option, and the sales person was not exactly helpful or friendly. She kept telling us to come back later — I was feeling downhearted but I’m so happy we continued our pursuit!
Andrew’s is more than meets the eye. The signage is a little dated and I have to admit, I had my doubts, but once I walked in that all changed.
We were immediately greeted by the extremely friendly staff. We didn’t have an appointment but Nick immediately dove into our options — asking a ton of questions, but also going beyond what we thought we wanted and bringing out excellent suggestions. They obviously know what they’re doing.
All 10,000 tuxes for rent are onsite, and they do an «English fitting» to you three days prior to the event — they make sure that you are completely satisfied.
With all this going on, I started to doubt if we were going to be able to afford the rental, considering how above and beyond they were going — fortunately, the rental was only $ 218, AND since we rented 6, we got one rental free! They then allow you to transfer the discount across all the rentals, making everything a bit cheaper for everyone.
To top it off, after the event they allow you to use your total rental cost towards a purchase of a tux or a suit, and it doesn’t have to be the same style as the one that was rented.
I honestly cannot believe how amazing this place is. I left smiling. I can’t recommend it enough!
p. s. they have an entirely orange suit with top hat for rent, FYI.

I just had my wedding on Friday October 4^th, 2013 at the Berkeley Church, and I rented my tuxedos from Andrew’s Formals for myself, my 6 groomsmen, 2 fathers and ring bearer and I could not have been more happy and surprised on how phenomenal our tuxedos looked. Having a large bridal party I was worried if we needed alterations done we wouldn’t have enough time, etc, but it worked out seamlessly! I had a groomsman and ring bearer fly in from Calgary who submitted their measurements online, and any alterations that needed to be made were quickly done and they looked amazing! We came in the day before the wedding to pick up the tuxedos and we didn’t have any issues at all. I couldn’t be more happy with the attention to detail everyone at the store has! Carmela was phenomenal and extremely helpful in helping me choose the perfect tuxedos!
Thank you so much for an amazing experience! All of our guests commented on how amazing my groomsmen looked and how fitted our tuxedos were. My wife couldn’t take her eyes off me all night and I felt like a celebrity!
Cannot say enough good things about this place! High quality products from an extremely knowledgable staff that goes out of their way to give you exactly what you want and make you look and feel like a million bucks, and their prices are very affordable!

Their service is top notch: as good as it gets, and in this age of sub-​par service, very addictive like the Compost Cookie at Momofuku Milk Bar! Nick, Carmela et al. run a very smoothly sailing ship.
Reading the great Unilocal reviews I ventured out to this Eglinton W. store which is very nondescript, and rather aged, from the outside. I wasn’t too sure about Andrew’s Rentals given its location, but seeing customers inside, ranging from 65 yos to 5 yos, trying on tuxes allayed my misgivings.
The selection is a bit limited; they carry quite a few tuxes but there’s not much variety in terms of colors and styles. They do the classics well. I ended up choosing a shawl collar black tux. Anything besides the tux, such as a cuff shirt, cuffs, vest, tie/​bow tie and shoes, are extra, unlike some other places where everything is included in the price.
Nick and his staff were a pleasure to deal with. Their rental policy is the most customer friendly of all the rental places I tried: you can pick up your tux upto 3 days before the event and return it upto 2 business days after!
Unfortunately, I didn’t end up following through on my order after I realized that the wedding I was renting the tux for wasn’t a black-​tie affair after all.
Nick assured me over the phone that he would return my deposit even though my suit was ready. However, when I went the next day to claim my refund, he wasn’t there and Carmela didn’t seem to know anything about the refund. She assured me she would contact Nick, who had gone out of town by then, and asked me to call back the next afternoon. I wasn’t very happy about this development.
However, Carmela called me back the next morning and informed me that a refund had been issued on my CC and gave me the details of the refund. She even snail mailed me a copy of the refund receipt! I am very, very impressed by her follow through.
Bottom line: Andrew’s Formal Rental’s collection might only be worth a bronze, but their service is undisputably gold worthy.

Flew in from out of town for a friend’s wedding on a dime and found this place through Unilocal.The drive from where I was staying was quite long but in the end it was worth it.
These guys really knew their stuff and were both efficient yet meticulous about fitting the right formal wear for me. We went over some general styles and tips throughout all this in a very relaxed setting.
I got my tuxedo in a little less than an hour flat and the wedding was a total success. Turns out even I can look sharp in a nice tux. Well done guys. Would totally recommend to friends.

I had the pleasure of dealing with Andrew’s Formals on numerous occasions. Nick and Carmela are amazing. The level of customer service is beyond what anyone would ever expect. They will work with you to ensure that you have the right suit for the occasion. They are not satisfied unless you are.
