Anna’s Barber Shop

Harry took over in Anna’s absence a while back and he’s extremely nice, pleasant and attentive. Still 5 stars!

Just moved into the area and I will be coming back for regular cuts here. It was quick, I was in and out in no time. Very friendly, and professional. You can tell the barber has been doing this for a long time. Affordable too ($ 20).
Don’t let the look of this place fool you, it’s a great place to get your hair done fast and done right.

Fantastic little shop. Came here for a quick cut and Henry knew exactly what he was doing.
I have a weird, difficult, strangely-​angled Jew Fro to deal with and he conquered that beast inside of 15 minutes.
Recently moved to Yonge and Eg, and I’m used to old school Italian barbers that do the straight razor treatment … But this man was a wizard with the clippers and did a much better job than I could’ve imagined.
5 Stars — Why?
1) Ridiculously quick service.
2) $ 20 is more than you’d pay on Spadina but this is an attentive, calculated cut. Well worth it for the skill involved.
3) Cordial barber that speaks with you when necessary and doesn’t pretend like you’re old friends. Kept it professional. Zero awkwardness.
4) Location — Literally 2 blocks from my place. Thumbs up for proximity.
5) Takes Visa. Small shops like this usually only operate on a «cash only» basis. They have the machine and it’s instantaneous (no dial up nonsense). You pay immediately, say thank you, and leave.
Overall, as someone that’s used to the old world Italian straight razor treatment, this place surprised me. Great cut, great price, and great timing.
If I want an «old world» shave or cut, I can find that elsewhere. For all intents and purposes, Anna’s is exactly what I needed today.

Since the staff at my old barbershop (Ralph’s at Wellesley/​Bay) started turning over at a ridiculously high rate, I have been searching the city for a place that provides good value for several years.
I’ve been to a few different places since I stopped being a regular at Ralph’s, and this is the first place I’ve liked enough to stop looking for somewhere better. I’ve been to places on Bloor West that charge more than 50% more than Anna’s for a haircut that is of similar quality (or worse depending on the barber), and I’ve paid 30% more than what Anna’s charges for a haircut I was not happy with at a well reviewed barbershop in the west end (the guy was really nice so I don’t want to name/​shame his barbershop).
The only difference is that some of the places on Bloor West will wash your hair first, which does not justify that massive price difference.
For $ 20 (including tax, not including tip) you will not find a better deal in any popular Toronto neighbourhood. The place has wifi, and the proprietor is efficient and a nice guy. It’s extra for a beard trim, shave, etc. (I haven’t tried those services — just the haircut).

My go to place now that I’ve moved near Yonge and Eglington. Reasonable prices and amazing service every time!

I was on my way home from work and needed a haircut badly. I was going to Montréal for the weekend for the Osheaga Festival and I didn’t have a lot of time.
When I walked in, there was one person having their hair cut so I sat down. I didn’t wait more than 15 minutes and was in the chair. He was friendly, very helpful and respectful of my wishes. I wanted a really quick summer cut. Buzz if if you have to, but I want it short. He was very insistent that he thought with scissors would be better but ultimately left it up to me.
I decided to use his advice and I was not disappointed. He was so quick and precise. I was out of the chair probably faster than it took me to get in it.
Great cut, fair price (especially for the area)
Would recommend it to anybody.

I just went to Anna’s Barbershop today and was very impressed. She is meticulous with her haircutting, she is a genuinely nice person, and she only charges 20 $ for a men’s cut. I will definitely go back to Anna’s again!

Anna is the first barber I have ever continuously trusted. She always cuts my hair perfectly. She is beyond meticulous. I won’t be going anywhere else. I 100% recommend her.
