tldr; Very professional, hygenic and fast! I got my first Brazilian here and it was a breeze. Go on Tuesdays /​Wednesdays for 15% off their regular prices. Also if you’re a first time customer make sure to take advantage of a free underarm wax! You can make an appointment online or through the phone.
The entire process took less than 15min and was nearly painless. I was greeted by my waxer Margo (who is amazing btw!) and taken to a room where they had a rest table covered in one-​time use paper to lie on. She does more than a dozen a day and there’s really nothing to be shy about as she’ll talk you through the process. I loved how open she was. Everything was one-​time use so it’s very hygenic and you get some after-​wax lotion. Margo also recommends St. Ive’s Apricot Scrub for post-​wax use to exfoliate and deep clean the pores.

**Underarm**: 5min
I was told to take off my shirt and wear either a tank top or a bra and lie down on the table. Then I was instructed to raise my arm over my head and hold the underarm skin taut while she applied the hot wax and ran the one-​time use paper over it twice and removed all the hair. Due to the speed and the heat of the wax it was virtually painless and super fast. She then applied a wax cleaner to remove the residue. Easy. (Disclaimer: I’ve waxed my underarms myself before but it is definitely less painful to get it done by someone else)
**Brazilian**: 10min
First time! You don’t need to trim with Margo though some other waxers might insist this. I was told to remove everything from the waist down and lie down on my back with a towel over my nether regions. I was warned beforehand that it would hurt but as long as I followed her instructions it wouldn’t be so bad (and it wasn’t!). Anyway she did this in small sections depending on the direction of the hair growth. She also told me when to breathe in and out so I would experience the least pain and shock. You’re also holding parts of your skin taut to ease the process. Afterwards you’re told to flip around to get any pieces of residual hair. Apparently you can even get fun designs on the front but I was recommended the full Brazilian for the first time.

I came here because it is closer to my house and I did not want to make the trip to the yonge location. There was a bit of traffic so unfortunately I was 8 minutes late. However I had booked full legs, brazilian and eyebrows — with the same girl (Krista i think) from 12:30 till 1:30.
I walk in at 12:38 (after calling and letting them know of course) and they proceed to tell me they might need to cancel my full legs to make time for my other two appointments. I object and let her know that if need be, i’s be willing to give up my eyebrow wax. She was not too happy about that and I had to repeat my priorities twice, which I did not like.
Inside the room, it is quite clean, but it was getting a bit hot so I asked if the air was on, and if it were not could we please turn it on. I get incredibly nervous and sweaty and that just makes the whole situation more uncomfortable. Krista pauses for a split second, gives me the weirdest, meanest look in the world, says I don’t know and proceeds to ignore me.
I started at 12:40 — was done a brazilian and full legs at 1 (needless to say it was not the best) — which means i still made it on time for all my appointments and have 30 minutes left for my eyebrows. I only clean– my eyebrows usually take 10 minutes tops.
Krista walks out, says that is not true and she is already booked with other clients.
They then keep me waiting for 20 minutes and then someone sees me for my eyebrows. She seemed to be iffy as well.
The whole experience was quite uncomfortable. I admit i was 8 minutes late, and i apologised. But i had 30 minutes left in my booked time and was told that it was not the case. I pulled out my phone to show her and that is when she told me to wait.
The 2 stars are only because it is a clean place. Staff is rude and unprofessional. Definitely do not know how to keep clients coming back.

I have been to this spa three times. Once for a massage, which was okay, a little unprofessional (didn’t ask me about pressure, no questionnaire) but okay. Then I went for a spray tan, which was excellent. What was awful was my second spray tanning experience here. The lady seemed tired and bored and didn’t even knock before she came in as I was changing. She didn’t put barrier cream on anywhere and actually missed huge chunks of my body, resulting in my skin looking splotchy and zebra-​like. She did an awful, awful job. She was also quite rude. Her name was Sarah. Do NOT see her for a spray tan. Worst experience ever and a waste of money.

I have had consistently great service for both bikini waxing and mani/​pedi treatments at Aroma. For waxing, they know their craft well. You can be in, out, and hair free in less than 15 minutes. Yeah, waxing is painful – but the staff at Aroma do their best to make a kind of awkward experience as comfortable as possible. They also offer 15% off every Tuesday and Wednesday!

I was referred to this spa by a friend and booked a shoulder and back waxing appointment. I was able to book a ‘waxing’ on the same day I needed it, and was very happy with the service and the price. Everyone here was friendly and the room I had the waxing done in was very clean and smelled great.
For the guys out there who need ‘manscaping’ I would highly recommend this place and I am surprised it does not have a higher rating. I literally paid twice as much at my old place in Mississauga and the service levels were about the same.
Aroma, I will be back here again :)

$ 40 shellac manicure… I left feeling totally ripped off and my cuticles were sore and bleeding. Unfriendly staff and the place looks old and tired. Now I’ll have to go somewhere else to have the shellac re-​done… Sigh.

I have done Brazilian wax before but this was my first visit here… and I don’t see the chances of going back there.
I understand that it’s a spa on bloor, time is crucial but if the girl in the front could be a bit more personable to customers, it may not seem as obvious that it is a money driven place.
Lisa was good, she was able to converse with me while doing my wax (I did brazilian, eyebrow, underarm and upper lip). She had enough time but I still felt that she was rushing a bit… the left side of my vaginal lip is swollen now… I think it was from her trying to pull the strip but slipped from rushing…
After my waxes, I went up to get my manicure/​pedicure combo (first time for pedi, that was great). However, my manicure was starting to get rushed because she was running behind, I started feeling her rush a bit. I told her I did not mind not getting having nail polish on so I could speed the process up. When I got home to check my nails… well I had better manicures done at a much better price than that… I still have a lot of dead skin around my finger tips…
The ladies there were ok, but I think it’s the management of the place… it’s all time and money to them… worst one I would say is the front desk and I think that is an important position to help retain your clients. In this case, I think I could do much better.

Went here for both sugaring and waxing. I saw Vanessa for sugaring. She was so nice and talked me through everything! Highly recommend her.
Then I saw Kacie for waxing. She waxed my lower legs in about 4.5 seconds. She’s extremely quick– which is great for waxing! On the other hand, don’t expect more than two words out of her, she was really quiet.
They have some decent discounts depending on which day you go. But note that they don’t do free spray tans on birthdays even though their website says so.
Overall, I recommend this place. Decent (but not cheap) pricing, and very clean and professional.

I’ve been going for a few years now, despite it not being the closest place to where I live, because they are by far THE BEST waxing you will find in this city. Trust me, I’ve tried various places, in various neighbourhoods, at various price points. They beat everyone hands down.
Location: They are located on the block just west of Honest Ed’s, on Bloor. The spa itself is clean and has a soothing white and mint palette, something to calm you down prior to the wax itself.
Experience: Speaking of the wax itself, appointments are booked in 15 minute chunks for most services, and the staff is so good that even if you experience pain (cz waxing does not come painless), it won’t last longer than 15 minutes. Can’t beat that for sure!
Price: Cheap and amazing. They also offer a 15% discount for all services booked for Tuesdays and Wednesdays. See? Amazing.
They have a variety of other spa services like massages, facials, etc, which I have yet to try but where waxing is concerned, these guys are the top in Toronto.

It’s the first place I ever got a Brazilian wax and the last. I’ve lived in 4 cities in and around Canada and the US and have yet to find a waxing spa like Aroma. The estheticians are all very friendly, professional, experienced and certified — not to mention quick, pain-​free and efficient! I’m in and out in no time, though I don’t mind waiting if I have to — the ambience at the spa is delightful.

I recently had a vegan spray tan at Aroma during a promotion. I liked the concept and the tan looked OK, but it unfortunately stained my clothes and bedsheets orange! The spa claimed this would come out in the wash (it didn’t). They also sent me home when my skin was still quite wet, which came off on my clothes and made the tan splotchy where my clothes rubbed me. The tan lasted about a week but I don’t think it was worth it, even at the discounted rate.

They do not have RMTs
And the yonge location is extremely rude and not accommodating at all.

I really loved this place on my first visit! Unfortunately, my second visit wasn’t as good.
I got pedicure for both visits. My first one was fantastic. The aesthetician knew exactly what she was doing. I had this nail growing on top of my little toe and I had no idea what it was, I just thought I had dry nail or bumped my toe into something. But when she saw it, without even me telling her, she said she knew exactly what it was and removed it so precisely. The price is slightly expensive than average, but I had no complain because the pedi lasted until I took it off, which was over a month.
The second time, I had a different aesthetician because I didn’t remember the name of my first (shame), and she didn’t even ask about the second toenail and left it as it is until I requested it to be removed. This wasn’t really the biggest prob I had with my second visit though. The bigger prob is that their polishes are so old, discoloured, and sticky. I chose an opi colour that I already know, and the colour is totally different from the one I know. It was so sticky and gooey that my pedi didn’t turn out nicely :(this time my pedi began to peel off from the first week :(
I won’t be visiting again, but I still like how hygienic this place is. The pedi tools come in wrappers, and are opened right in front of your eyes! Buffers and files head straight to the bin after filing is done. I guess if you stick to the aesthetician u like, u won’t have any probs w the salon except for the old polishes. They really need to update their polish selection. There is so few and many of them hardened.

I came back for my second Brazilian and i keep getting the same issue!
— the white bumps keep appearing from right after the wax to a day after and last for like a week (and yes i a very hygienic and clean)
–the second time was more painful which is a bit odd
–i keep seeing broken hairs!
I do love the atmosphere of this place but will search elsewhere for the perfect brazilian. However with that being said, aroma will be my back up spa.

I had heard good things about this place so I checked it out. The receptionist was very friendly and I felt welcomed. But the woman who waxed my legs was incompetent. I had about two weeks of hair growth on my legs, and my hair is really coarse. She told me some of the hairs weren’t long enough to get pulled out, but she said most were fine. I gave her the go-​ahead.
At the end, she said it looked like she had gotten most of it. I took a quick look and it seemed like there were a few hairs left that I could pluck out.
Then I went home and took a closer look, and I noticed that almost NONE of the hair on my legs had been actually pulled out – it had all been broken off at the base!
I don’t understand why she said that it looked good at the end if most of my hair hadn’t even been pulled out. I feel that I paid $ 45 to have my legs painfully shaved. What a waste of time and money.

I am absolutely in love with this place. I only get Brazilian waxes from here so I can only vouch for that. Their waxers are super friendly, professional, and most importantly, skilled. When you’re waxing that part of your body, you definitely want someone that knows what they’re doing and these girls are the best. Not only is the experience great, it also takes less than 15 minutes so needless to say, they are efficient!
I have had three different waxers so far, and each of them were fantastic! My first-​ever Brazilian was with Mary (owner), since I read stellar reviews about her. I was reluctant at first to book with another person, but Mary was not available when I wanted to get it done. I booked with Lisa next who was nothing short of amazing, then I got my next waxing with Karla, who was also great. To sum it all, you are in good hands (literally) with whomever you have as your waxer. :-)
I am actually scared to go to another place, due to how awesome Aroma is. I doubt anywhere else can top this. I actually go to school in London, ON and always make a trip here whenever I am back in town. Plus, they are also very affordable. They have 15% off on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, as well as for Foursquare check-​ins! Score!

I’ve been here before for waxing, and while I like their services, this review is specifically for the upstairs spa.
For Christmas, I was gifted the «Pamper Me» Package, which included a 30 minute relaxation massage, hour long dermalogica facial, and manicure/​pedicure. Despite visiting Aroma many times for waxing, I was somewhat hesitant about their spa services. I won’t be again.
I was welcomed upstairs (which is far more quiet and serene than the main floor), by my esthetician, or «skin therapist», whose name I cannot remember but started with a T. I wish I could because she was fantastic.
The first service was the massage. At first I was nervous. I’m used to RMT massages with someone’s elbow squeezing the air out of me and relieving my overworked muscles. This was completely different, and unbelievably relaxing. After thirty minutes being rubbed by oily baby hands I was putty.
Next up: the facial. I have to admit, this was only my second facial ever, but it was truly fantastic. «T» went through step by step explaining the products she used, what she saw under the super bright light she used, and explained some at-​home treatments I should try (without once trying to sell me any product).
After the facial came a spa manicure and pedicure. Usually I go to the cheep and cheerful Korean-​run salons on Bloor street when my toes and fingers need some love, and while I often have a great polish it never comes with the patience, time, parafin wax, or conversation that these did. She spent at least 45 minutes on both my hands and feet, and, nearly 2 weeks later my toes still look amazing.
All in all this was an amazing experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking to pamper themselves or a loved on.

I have to admit they are great «waxers». They do the job right and that’s all that matters. But truly annoying bitchy «waxers».
Margo is great though.

Who likes scar tissue?!
Without going into too much detail, I can honestly say they ruined my and a friend’s special place with terrible wax jobs. I lost a healthy amount of skin, and have had problems there ever since (over a year later). My friend has scars.
Previously, I’d had good experiences, and had been going for a year. They are very professional, but I can’t overlook the fact that because of them, I’ll never feel good in a bathing suit ever again.

I was really impressed with the waxing service I received at Aroma. I had a lower leg wax done by Mary. She was quick, efficient, friendly but most importantly, she did a great job of removing my hair cleanly and without harming my sensitive skin.
I’m actually a pretty reluctant waxer. I’ve had some bad experiences with leg waxing at reputable spas where I’ve been burned by too hot wax or left bruised from improper removal technique. I once was left with a waxing strip-​shaped mark below my knee that took 6 months to fade! Not fun.
For these reasons, I’m really picky about where I go. It really is worth it to have someone who specializes in waxing rather than just one of these nail spas that offers waxing services on the side. I have no doubt that Mary is that person. Over one week later and I’m still very smooth, which means my hairs didn’t just break off, they were actually taken out.
Past experiences have also taught me that I should expect to go home with some sticky spots on my leg and only to find small clumps of green wax. Who doesn’t love that? Not here, Mary left my legs clean of hair and wax, plus I liked the lotion that was used. It was too heavy or greasy and my legs didn’t break out in red bumps afterwards. I can’t remember the last time I had such good results post-​wax.
Prices for waxing services at Aroma are very reasonable and they offer all kinds of discounts for first time visitors, and those who check-​in on Four Square or Unilocal,which is awesome.
They are currently expanding the waxing clinic into the ground floor space formerly occupied by Panacea Eco Boutique (*le sigh*). After that they are going to spruce up the upstairs and dedicate the space on higher end services such as massage and facials.
My only reason for not giving 5 stars was because the floor and walls of the waxing room were showing signs of frequent use but upcoming renos will mean a total transformation of that space.
As for all those filtered reviews, which sometimes is a sign of shady business practices (owners planting reviews or competing businesses trashing each other) I would look past them in this case. The Aroma website actively requests feedback on Unilocal and I think it’s been a case of one time, but still legitimate reviewers, who don’t write any other reviews being filtered by Unilocal’s algorithm. Let’s face it, Unilocal has a pretty tough algorithm. I have had reviews filtered and 3 actually deleted and I’m practically an unpaid Unilocal employee!
