Bathurst Animal Clinic

I would feel a lot more confident in this place if they were not constantly trying to sell me some kind of «service» my Teddy supposedly needs.
Overpriced and just has a feeling of trying to gouge every last penny out of loving pet owners.

I have been coming here for over 13 years. For the care received, the prices are more than reasonable, very inexpensive compared to the vet other people I know use.
Dr Deji is caring and took great care of my animals. I wouldn’t consider going anywhere else.
Love the staff and the excellent care both my cat and dog received during their lifetime.
Olga and Dr Deji both offered to help me when the time is right to adopt another rescue.
They helped with my choice of breed and showed me different rescues to work with. I wouldn’t consider going anywhere else. My new fur baby will be coming here no questions asked.

I have a little shih Tzu pup that wasn’t nearly as nervous as I was about taking him in for his shots. I had dogs in the past growing up but after moving out and living with my partner, it was our first time having our own dog. This meant training him, feeding him, taking him out on walks, and taking him to vets to make sure he’s up to all his shots. I didn’t know the first thing about what to look for in a quality animal clinic and what shots to request or anything.
I heard mixed reviews about Bathurst animal clinic but since the majority of the reviews on other sites were positive and it was really close to my house, I decided to book my pups’ first vet visit.
I applied online and got a call right back from them confirming my appointment
When the appointment date came, we arrived a little too early but they were hospitable and so unbelievably friendly. Everyone from the lady at the front desk to the vet (dr. Natalie Paul) was all over my puppy (aka Batman!) and made my puppy feel right at home.
Despite how annoying I probably acted with my infinite common-​sense type questions, they were so patient, informative and thorough. They definitely had my dogs’ best interest in mind instead of pushing unnecessary costs & procedures onto me (I had a bad history with one vet before who just grabbed my brothers VERY SICK hedgehog, stared at it and said it was dying and if my brother wants, they can board him and look into it for $ 5K. I kid you not! Then while trying to bill me when I accepted, they just looked down at Sonic again and she put her finger on him for some seconds and bluntly said ‘he’s dead’ and charged me. I obviously had a complex with Vets after that. til nowwww)
They made sure my puppy and I were both good to go and booked the next appointment and to my utter relieve, the charges didn’t break the bank *happy dance*.
Fast track a few weeks and my poor pup was throwing up. I called the clinic to see if I’d have to bring my puppy or if I could ask some questions over the phone. They were extremely helpful and were actually gonna call me to remind me of my next appointment.
This place is the bees knees and I swear I’m not ‘planting’ this review because I doubt anyone else in the world still says bees knees anymore.

This clinic is clean and everyone there is super friendly. We found this place when our 6 yr old dog started having trouble closing his mouth, and we took him in to see Dr. Alexandre. I’ve been to vets who felt like they were running a business, and vets who just did cursory checks and pushed you along. Dr. Alexandre is neither. Through the course of our dog’s care at Bathurst, there was never a moment when I doubted how dearly she cared for him. When he was kept there overnight for IV fluids, I knew he was in safe hands, and indeed he was perkier when he came home, and had made a fast friend of Olga, one of the assistants.
The entire office was there for us as our pup declined. Dr. Alexandre was very clear about what our options were without pushing us in any particular direction — except at one point she really pushed a test for a tick borne illness, it made sense. We hadn’t the money for an MRI, although we’d done X-​rays and bloodwork and found nothing. She was covering all bases, clearly invested in determining what was going on with our dog, and not giving up. She made us truly feel like we were informed and could make our own decisions on our dog’s care. When it became clear that our dog would not recover, she was compassionate (indeed they all were so kind) and laid out our options, let us know what she thought, and then gave us time to decide when to let him go.
While in our case there was nothing we could do — it was likely a brain tumor we didn’t detect until too late — I would not have chosen any other vet to go through it with. I trust Dr. Alexandre implicitly, and if my other animals need care, it will be her we take them to. She’s an amazing and kind doctor who clearly loves the animals she is trusted with. And she also really knows her profession — she was very thorough and asked about any/​all little details that might help. She brought up things we never would have thought of, and called every few days to check on his progress.
My only reason for 4 stars is the cost — the exam prices were a bit higher than we expected. But seriously — for care like this? It was well worth it. My sweet dog got the absolute best care he could have, and when he passed he was surrounded by an office of people who cared for him, and had done all they could.

Bathurst Animal Clinic is a nice and friendly place to bring your pets. I have taken my furry son Gilmour here for the past two years for his annual checkup. The only thing that I do not like about this place is how they try and worry you about your pet. When you first enter the checkup room the Veterinary assistant starts off my saying your pet is x amount of years old and you should get blood tests done. My cat couldn’t be healthier or happier. They are in to make money off of you and people may think they have to get these blood tests done or whatever else they offer you because the vet says so, don’t get taken advantage of, and remember they are the assistant not the veterinary. The Veterinary himself is very friendly and you can see he cares about his job. Overall I would suggest this place to other pet owners.
