Bloor Barista is a sweet café that emphasizes on quality products at a reasonable price. The café offers a vast variety of tea for you to choose from. I decided to try their Rose Milk Tea, which was the first time I ever had milk tea. For every tea order, it comes in a cute teapot with a small candle to keep the tea warm. The drink was very frothy and I enjoyed the experience because the atmosphere, which was quaint and inviting. I enjoyed the adorable wall decals especially. I saw a family that decided to stop by for a bit and spent some quality time together over tea and coffee while I was there. The owner was really generous as he made me a free cup of coffee as well after I finished my tea! The coffee brew was delicious and light to the taste buds. I think Bloor Barista is perfect for the tea lovers in the Wallace Emerson neighbourhood. It’s also a nice study spot.

3 Stars This is a nice little spot in Bloordale. Upon entrance it feels very well put together; nice leather chairs around two beautiful tables; it is obvious, money was spent to get this place up and running. The décor is wonderful and suitable for the type of spot it is. They have quite a selection of tea for all those tea lovers out there. Me, I’m more of a coffee guy, so I had a latte. To be honest I wasn’t expecting much because when I arrived at the store there was a sign on the door which said the worker was at the corner store… not really a good first impression. When the worker came in, again, I was not expecting much. To my surprise the coffee was made wonderfully. The flavour, the look, the presentation, very good. With Jazz playing(mind you it was the radio, but still…) in the background, wonderful comfortable chairs, and a great place to work I wonder why more people don’t come out to this place. Upon further reflection I realized it may be because apart from making my coffee I never saw a single employee. There is little to no community in this place, which is not very appealing. There is something to be said about making a place warm and inviting in terms of look, but one of the greatest things missing is the warmth of a friendly smile and person who cares about the consumer. There is more to creating a warm environment than putting the best décor and furniture inside of a room and expecting people to show up; there has to be a want to serve people. I did not find it here. This place could easily be a 4 or 4.5 stars by simply having a person in the place who wants to serve people and interact with them. I can almost guarantee this is one of the main reasons why it was dead. What a shame; good coffee, amazing place, great music, no interaction and community. It was nice to visit once, but I won’t be back. That’s it.
